The exact quote from the original platform:

"Since the authority to regulate immigration and intercourse between the United States and foreign nations rests with the Congress of the United States and the treaty-making power, the Republican party regarding the unrestricted immigration...as a matter of grave concernment under the exercise of both these powers, would limit and restrict that immigration by the enactment of such just, humane and reasonable laws and treaties as will produce that result... The equal, steady and complete enforcement of the law, and the protection of all our citizens in the enjoyment of all privileges and immunities guaranteed by the Constitution, are the first duties of the Nation. The execution of the laws, and the punishment of all those who violate them, are the only safe methods by which an enduring peace can be secured and genuine prosperity...to this end honest voters must be protected against terrorism, violence or fraud."
--Republican Party Platform, adapted at June 2, 1880

Does this sound very familiar to you guys? Now the funny thing is that if you quoted that statement to any open borders "Republican" or RINOS and asked when when it was made, they would probably insist that Tancredo and other "xenophobic" and "racist" members of the party are trying to drive away "minority" votes by insisting on this kind of stuff against the party's ''true'' nature.

In reality, most Asian-Americans, Mexican-Americans, African-Americans and all minorites agree on the fact that massive immigration, both legal and illegal, is hindering their communities and encouraging legal immigrants to stop learning English and becoming Americans. Michelle Malkin is a proud American born to Fillipino Immigrants whose fighting tooth and nail to stop this illegal immigration invasion and I'm very sure there are countless numbers of minorities that are fighting on this important issue.

We absolutely have to protect our borders. Our greatest threat will be from open borders. We are at war. Yet I don't see and great effort to deport illegals and other dangerous illegal aliens.

Remember Pete Wilson tried very hard to save California from being swamped by illegals during the 1990's but his efforts has somewhat been blocked by the Far-Left Socialist Democrats in Sacremento.

Conservative Republicans like Rep Tom Tancredo are doing a great service to this country. I always praise and give kudos to President George W. Bush on the war against Terror and passing tax cuts to help simulate our slugglish economy but he gets an F- for his stance on illegal immigration. We must educate our President to realize that illegal immigration is a huge issue that we must deal with in the future.

I got this from Free Republic Forum on the Constitution of the US:

Article 4

Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

The US should not have standing armies in times of PEACE, which we would still have if we would not meddle in others' affairs [George Washington] and if we had demanded and Congress had provided the above [protection from illegal invasion].
