Monday was the most heated day yet at the Capitol for the subject of giving driver’s licenses to undocumented residents in Georgia. Anti-immigrant[Immigration Reform]representatives stood at the doors of the House chamber, while civil rights advocates with the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund stood nearby rallying votes and urging people to support the legislation sponsored by state Rep. Pedro Marín (D-Duluth) and state Sen. Sam Zamarripa (D-Atlanta).

Defeat on the house floor

Zamarripa and Marín had high hopes for passing HB 578, the bill they defended as a public safety issue tied to economic development and the Free Trade Area of the Americas. Supporting the effort were heavyweights such as the Speaker of House, the chairman of the House Motor Vehicles Committee, the Majority leader of the Senate and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. The bill was defeated 64-105.

Hey guys! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Long time and no see, I haven't talked to you guys for a while, but sometimes I visit this website whenever I have the time.

I was onboard on the Carl Vinson for more than two weeks. So far, I am enjoying every minute of it. I met a lot of friendly people at the Vinson and everyday I'm making a lot of friends.

In the first week of staying, I had a week of INDOC, which is an introduction of the Ship, rules and regulations, ship's mission, getting to know the ship, etc.

Currently, I'm learning on my rating and I am planning to take some classes on Math and History. Unfortunately, internet connection here on the ship is so slow that sometimes getting into this website takes me forever because we're in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

While we're overseas protecting America, patriotic Americans here at home are fighting another war: War against Liberalism, Leftist Media and Illegal Immigration.

The reason why the House in Georgia made the right thing by voting against this bill that would give driver licenses to illegals because of the pressure coming from concerned Americans by making a lot of phone calls to their local politicians and the internet from Immigration Reform groups like FAIR and NumbersUsa.

Thank you for your full support while we're embarking on in the name of FREEDOM for all people around the world. Let pray for the downfall of Saddam and show the whole entire world that the US will not let Freedom be destroyed by Dictators .

Thats great news Tom. Glad you are enjoying your tour on the Vinson. Hope the war is over soon so we can get back to the illegal immigration problem. I'm sure the pro-illegals are working hard right now while everybody is distracted by the war. Come back when you can - you may be in the middle of the pacific but some of us on dry land have slow connections too.

Hi http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif Tom ~ good to see you ~ stay safe and come by when you can. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I agree with Der Alte ~ immigration has taken a back seat since we've been embroiled in this war. Your news is very encouraging. We can't let this matter fade away. After reading the speech by Rep Tancredo on Strengthening American Borders I just don't see how we've neglected this for so long. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif

Hang in, Tom! We in Arizona need you back, soon! Our border is more like a war zone everyday, and the leftists who run the Democrat Party seem to be bending over backwards to make sure that we lose. After your tour at sea is up, come on down and tour the border - the damage being done to our citizens, our national security, and the environemt by the nightly (and daily!) invasion will outrage you. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag19.gif

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif The Libsare always saying we need to be more sensitive to illegals. I say, "Horse hockey!!!" I work in a federal prison and I can tell you form first hand experience that the ones we have aren't the poor souls whose cause the left has taken up. They are as vicious as any other thug we have that wa born and raised here. Oh and Tom, if you cross the line and have your Shellback initiation, just remember, you'll get your turn one day. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif

If I have the chance to visit Arizona by myself, I will come down there and have a tour. Unfortunately, I don't have a car for me to drive and I lived in Temecula, California which is far from Arizona.

Personally, each day I feel more frustrated about the illegal immigration situation and I often asked myself, "Nobody in the political establishment in Washington will touch this subject and I mean nobody wants to bring immigration as a major political issue because of fears of being a called a racist!!"

I promised you if we the people don't take some serious action on reforming our immigration laws, someday we'll lose everything that we cherished the most - freedom and national sovereignty.

I couldn't agree with you more about the prison situations here at home. Recently, according to a recent statistics from FAIR, more than 25 percent of the Prison Population in California and probably the rest of the entire country are illegal aliens. I think the numbers could be higher than the current estimates.

When we stop illegal immigration, we would most definately see a sharp decrease in crimes in many neighborhoods, especially in Southern California. Yes, indeed illegal aliens are no different than the criminals who are born here.
