By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

But law enforcement authorities warn they may be putting themselves in danger.

I don't like the radical ring this has. It reminds me of the people in Philadelphia crashing the OUT parade and getting in trouble for it. They had their warnings, too, and broke the law anyway. I wish I could see this achieving what Gilchrist envisions, but I don't. I see trouble.

If they can avoid actually shooting someone and mangae to apprehend a considerable number of illegals it might work. Who knows, privatizing border security might become a viable option, one subsidised by impacted states. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I don't have any desire for them to shoot anybody and they are not suppossed to be aprehending anybody. They are just suppossed to observe.
I worry that if something bad happens it could hurt the cause. But on the otherhand, they will probably get quite a bit of publicity and cause the Bush Administration and Congress some much needed embarrassment.
It is a shame that Americans have to do the job our government won't do. I hope it works out well.

Jack
