I was in Vietnam and Iraq is no Vietnam. If we had made the human connection in Nam as has been made in Iraq, Vietnam would be a Democracy today in my opinion. Good morning dearies!

OK, so I never made it back on Sunday, and not at all yesterday.


I see it was -54 degrees in Embarrass, MN...I love that name...but I don't think I would want to live there!!! LOL I guess it would be better than some other strange named towns...and of course anything would be better than Friendly, WV (I've been through there a few times...the cops there "ain't too friendly"...the little one stop sign town is known as a speed trap far and wide).

Anyway, the weather is back to normal here too...snow epected today. And, surprise of surprises...I have a sore throat, and sniffles, and aches! No wonder considering that all last week, and Sat during the day, the temps never dripped below 41 degrees, and SUNNY (I hadn't seen the sun or stars at night since Oct), then Sat night the temp dropped to 20. And it hasn't gone above 30 since. Yesterday, we didn't go out until after lunch...and our car still had a coat of ice on it when we left! And of course, the sun, moon and stars are gone again...somewhere beyond the layer of cloud. Considering that it's 10AM, and it still looks like dawn out there, and the clouds have "that look" to them, I beleive the weather reports...It's going to snow! That will make the princess happy, and less embarrassing! LOL She's been wearing her snow boots in protest of the weather for a week! She actually hid two pairs of tennis shoes one day, so I wouldn't put up a fight to her snow boots...and she pickd the day that I had a schedual!!! Stinker!!!

Everyone is giving weather reports so here goes. We are back to normal, or slightly below, here in NC after several days of fine spring like weather. 13 degrees at the moment and expected to top out at 30 with lots of sunshine. I can handle that for 'winter'.

A Coptic Christian Family was brutally murdered in New Jersey. Now I am hearing that the Dad was a vocal opponent of Islam and argued convincingly against the Q'oran on a mid east website. They were murdered by having their throughts slit, and one daughter had a gold cross that had been around her neck "imvolved" in the murder (Fox news's word, not mine). There had also been e-mail threats against this family and the poster to the website said he would "hunt him down and slaughter him like a chicken". Of course, the tactic of terrorism is to instill FEAR and in this case, they carried out their threat. Now if the police would spend more time investigating TRUE "hate crimes" instead of "perceived" ones, maybe the perps will get caught.

Good Morning All: Cold, nope, its 70 degrees here in NC - Oops, thats the inside temperture. Outside its 18 and thats 4 degrees better than it was an hour ago. Our high is to be 30 degrees and its supposed to get up to the 40s by Thursday. My little Siberian Husky thinks its just fine, outside. With a coat like his I don't imagine the cold bothers him at all.

Don't tell me that the Republicans are the ones to get us into a war - FDR took us in to WWII, Truman took us into Korea and JFK took us into Vietnam. Korea and Vietnam saw a Republican in office when we got out. I have no problem with going to war - my problem is the administration not letting the military run the war. In Vietnam we had the best example where Kennedy and McNamara tried to run the war from the WH - doesn't work.

I am happy to report that here in northeast Oklahoma, all of the weather is outside. I'm indoors where it's a lovely 72, clear, dry, and comfy. And for that, Lord, I am truly grateful.

Just a thought - how long do you think ol' Teddy K would have lasted in Viet Nam? Ted, in my estimation - would have been dead within hours of his feet hitting the ground in the Nam. I have to agree - Iraq ain't nothin' like the jungles of Nam were.

Terrorism in New Jersey - the message? Don't try to convert from Islam to Christianity. And Islam is a way of peace, they say.... I don't know - I grew up in the Middle East and spent a lot of years around muslims. I've never yet met a muslim from the ME who was happy, fulfilled, centered, or had any real hope. Go figure.

I am sooo looking forward to the inauguration. That will be very nice.

This book I am about to finish: "Last Jews of Chochin" is one of the more fascinating books I have ever read. Truly astonishing.

Next waiting for me is a bio of Teddy Roosevelt. The author wrote two of them and they both look good.

While we were in Rockport this weekend we stayed at a B&B there that the owners are going to lose, if they don't get some business soon.

They need a new look so I'm taking them all my comforter sets that I've bought and really not used. I'm bad, especially this time of year, with linen sales.

They have icky outdated wallpaper everywhere and they just don't have the flair the prior owner had for decorating. Not saying I do, but I can do better than they can. Maybe I'll start a thread and ask for your input...

Next week, I will start reviewing for my second exam, even though the exam is an open book exam, I still need to make sure I know the material. *I scored a 75 on my last exam, so I need to make either a B or an A on this second one.

I am currently listening and relaxing to Air Supply. *How I miss this group. They were really good.
