Third-party candidates for president said they would sue in federal court Monday to force a recount of Ohio ballots before returns are certified next week - prompting one election official to say he might mobilize fellow counties to resist a recount.

"Counties are very upset," said Keith Cunningham, director of the Allen County Board of Elections and incoming president of the Ohio Association of Election Officials, who called the lawsuit "frivolous."

"Commissioners are beginning to understand - and if they don't, will understand soon - what kind of financial impact this is going to have on them, in a year when elections already cost a great deal more than expected."

What are these two morons trying to prove? Or do they just want their 15 minutes of fame?

IMO only the candidate who comes in second should have the authority to request a recount

Hope the residents of Ohio raise a stink about this waste of time and money.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Ohio countersues for costs incurred if a "significant" outcome does not happen. So if the victor is still the same and the change in votes in marginal, these two guys, who are more than happy to spend government money on their personal crusade, will have the ability to pay us back. Nothing like doing a bill back for a few million dollars to make somebody understand the consequences of their actions.

Actually I would like for them to have to pay the money up front. I'm pretty sure that if they countersue, that they can also sue for reimbursement of all court costs.

Well, they "say" they're doing this on their own, but I think we can guess who is really behind this. I point the finger directly at the consulting firm of Soros & Moore, Imbiciles At Large. In order to call for a recount, these folks had to ante up some money up front, but it's not nearly enough to cover the costs of a recount. I hope this wakes up our legislators to amend the laws to require a full payment up front instead of a paltry 100,000 or so. Right now, I'm http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif to have to say I'm from Ohio. What a mess!

Upon further review the election stands as called. The http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif will be charged with a timeout http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif. These losers need to accept reality.
