<span style='font-family:comic sans ms'>Taking On The University Blacklist - Tuesday, February 04, 2003 7 PM
*
The campaign to take on the longest standing and most effective (non-racial) blacklist ever sustained in an American social institution is now officially in its second year and has begun to have an impact. I am referring to the repression of conservatives and Republicans on the faculties of American colleges. We began this campaign years before with articles on the appalling lack of academic freedom on college campuses (e.g., see my "Visit to A Small College" reprinted in Hating Whitey) with a study we commissioned by Frank Luntz on the political attitudes of Ivy League professors. We followed this with the publication of a pamphlet, Political Bias in American Universities (available here on this site) and the launching of a national campaign behind the slogan "You Can't Get A Good Education If They're Only Telling You Half The Story." We also inspired a special issue of The American Enterprise magazine, co-edited by Eli Lehrer, a volunteer researcher on our campaign.
