For those folks in Texas who fear a state sales tax or worse to fund public education, check this out:

www.banknd.com is the website for the Bank of North Dakota. So what you say? Well, this is the "only" state owned and operated bank in the nation. The ONLY one!

Let's clone the idea here in Texas and charter an "Economic Development Bank" called "The Bank of Texas" where all profits go to fund public education.

Just thought you would like to know...Odel http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Thanks Terri. Do you have any questions or concerns about the idea? I have always wondered why only North Dakota could pull this off.

It is a legitimate idea that deserves wider dissemination and an honest evaluation. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *Odel Roo

Legislative action in 1919 established this bank. So it isn't as though it hasn't proven its stability. *Haven't there been other state banks? *There used to be a lot of them with State in their names.

Welcome, Roo. *How's Kanga? *Can you get us some more information on this? *I find it very intriguing. *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tails.gif
