April 12th has been declared a national day of protest http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif when all anti-war http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/geekgirl.gif peaceniks http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angel.gif *mass together in Washington, DC for the purpose of shouting 'bring our troops home' http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif and demanding an end to the 'invasion' of Iraq http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tank.gif *Detailed information on this event and other things suspicious http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif can be found at www.internationalANS WER.org
These people are so desperate http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tearhair.gif for supporters that they ask for donations to help send indigent marchers http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/boots.gif to the demonstration. *Most of these paupers come from the ghettos of NYC and DC and represent groups with issues other than the war *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif What galls me MOST http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/teeth2.gif is this is a tax-emempt organization http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

butynbranes2, Not sure if I welcomed you when you joined the Forum, but welcome. I deleted the other three blank threads you had tried to post with the same subject name as this one, for you. Let us know if you are having trouble posting, and once again, welcome.

Gee. let's hold HANDS around the White House and maybe THAT would free the Iraqi's from tyranny. Everyone here knows my thoughts on anti-peace protestors, so I'll save you the usual comments. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif (and the crowd goes wild!)

What gets me is that these soldiers - they are heroes. Some have paid the ultimate sacrafice, leaving wives, children and parents behind to (rightly!) liberate an enslaved people.

How is it that these people don't have compassion for the troops families, much less the Iraqi people? Where did all the feeeeeling's go? The Loooooove? Oh - the religion of politics with this group continues to smack of one-sided liberalism and eventual socialism.

This same group that doesn't have time to WORK at a JOB wants to reap the benefits of socialism - just like France wants to leech power from the US after we do the work.

Pathetic, pitiful and shame. Losers! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsdown.gif

And how did the peace protesters claim that "thousands of American lives" (like they care!) would be lost if they truly believed that there were no chem/bio/nuclear weapons?

Hmmmmm.. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

I for one would notbe offended by anything you could say regarding anti-war protesters http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin5.gif

I trurly believe the majority of those uninformed fruitcakes attend these peace rallies so that they can feel they're a part of something...anything !

What's with all the costumes and play-acting? Looks like a Halloween party. *

What is worriesome to me is the groups that are leading these marchers--all the ANTI-THIS/ANTI-THAT(s) whose agendas have little to nothing to do with this war.

I agree. There's something bigger and more sinister behind the mask. I think what you'll find is unadulterated socialism, and when the dust settles from the war, they'll be pushing conservatives into "thought deprogramming", or breaking out the "soma" tablets for anyone who disagrees.

I think you'll see the label "Anti-American" thrown at the conservative population at the first convenient time. Which sickens me. It's so much easier to be a liberal, but it takes a little backbone and restraint to be a conservative.

In the meantime, we can watch the protests and laugh at their ineffectiveness.

Think of it, though. If a thousand dirty smelly people were holding hands around the White House, couldn't we call it "Ring Around the Tub"?

That'd be a GREAT headline! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I caught one of the ANSWER rallies on c-span a couple of weeks ago. They were chanting "impeach Bush." I almost kicked my T.V. in.
I'll tell you, though, I haven't seen that much tie dye since woodstock. *These people are just looking for a good excuse to get together and smoke pot http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sleepy.gif and not bathe http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mr_yuk.gif . *Their parents probably did the same thing and now they think it is their turn.

Why don't they call the protests something a little more accurate? Like "Stink-ins".

These people are foul .... http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ref1.gif

At least we know they aren't a part of the "Ba'ath" Party, eh?

I don't think that it was any coincidence that all of these protests sprang up across the world, practically simultaneously or that Castro started his little fracas down in Cuba (sounds like a song title, doesn't it?) or that the dock workers went out on strike in Venzuela or that this multitude of events all took place at just about the same time.

I think it was a concerted effort by the Marxist/Stalinists. *They really did a fine job of it, too. *They had the http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/granny.gif and the *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/geekgirl.gif *out parading in the streets with http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/baaa.gif along with the pro demonstrators and college kids while they remained *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/anon.gif *You'll find the fine hand of the Communists in all this.

We won't have to wait for another Khruschev to bang his shoe on the desk and declare that "We will bury you." because we'll do it ourselves, however unwittingly. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

OH YES, BECAUSE THERE ARE A MULTITUDE OF STALINISTS ALL OVER THE WORLD TODAY, ESPECIALLY IN THE UNITED STATES!!! STALIN SILENCED ANYONE WHO HE BELIEVED POSED A THREAT OR SPOKE OUT AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT...SOUND FAMILIAR???

PS: IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE STRATEGY OF REPUBLICANS TO LABEL ANYONE WHO THEY SEE AS AN ENEMY AS A "COMMUNIST" TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE SHEEP OF SOCIETY TO BLINDLY VILLIFY THEM. A GOOD STRATEGY, I MIGHT ADD.

I'm amused at the Stalinist/Marxist comment. The World Workers party any their ilk have been so marginalized that I doubt they could organize an Easter egg hunt. They are a straw man set up to give ominous overtones to what might be an otherwise civil discussion.

I'm confused by the assertion that the people in our military are heroes. They get paid to do a job. By me. Most of the time they do a good one. Sometimes they die. They knew the risks when they signed up. They don't typically die to protect me (at least not since WWII). In fact, a good many died this last time out because their fellow soldiers shot them down. Are they heroes, too?

I'm vaguely offended by the use of all caps by rellybios. I tend to not read messages that are posted in that fashion.

I agree with the fact that we are burying ourselves. Hate, partisanship, name-calling, emotional rhetoric, and general close-mindedness keep burying us deeper ever day. There seems to be no middle ground these days.

I don't agree that there is much chance that socialists are behind the anti-this/anti-that crowd(s). I think you have a large number of small groups that have at least one thing in common, a dislike of their current political position. When taken as a whole, they look like large numbers. But break them up into their parts ('lesbian jews for harmony,' 'denim freaks of America,' 'drop-outs for more meals,' 'cross-dressing compassion') and it becomes clear that many of them are just looking for a chance to march about something. Only a few of them seem to have any real 'socialist' leanings.

I'm concerned that there aren't enough healthy, constructive, orderly discussions of the issues we face today. The 'us vs. them' mentality is disheartening, and leaves little room for fair debate and constructive criticism.

I'm satisified to get all that out. Time for peanut butter.

Although I don't like to give in to stereotypes (dirty stinky hippies), you gotta admit, that's a brilliant play on words. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

I wouldn't use the term offended per se, but I agree that people who post in all CAPS are a pet peeve of mine.
In the good old days of usenet, the original "internet", typing in caps was the equivilant of SCREAMING!!!
I'm not sure how many people know about that though.

That seems to be the case with many coalitions. Unfortunately mutual disdain doesn't build very strong alliances, so I guess the peaceniks aren't that much of a threat.

I think you'll find some very fair debate going on around here.
I'm not a Republican and I've had many healthy discussions in my time here.
As your relatively new to the Forum I will point out, many a Liberal troll has run a strafing mission through here in there first days so, if it ever appears that any moderator is heavy handed toward the Liberals, it's with good reason.
