Displaying a disqualifying lack of judgment, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry blatantly put his own petty political interests ahead of support for America's war effort in calling for the ouster of President George W. Bush.

The Massachusetts senator showed he isn't presidential material April 2 by brazenly comparing President Bush's leadership to Iraq's infamous tyrant, saying: "What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States."

Wrong. What we need is one less irresponsible pretender willing to stoop to such a questionable tactic at a time of war just to gain in the polls.

After promising on March 18 to cool his criticism of the war effort, Sen. Kerry couldn't control himself any longer while speaking at a town hall meeting. When taken to task, Kerry said he isn't sorry he decided to give our foreign enemies, as well as the suspicious Arab world, additional "locker room" materials to inspire further bloodshed.

Sen. Kerry needs someone to keep his tongue in check -- YOU! Help make him an object lesson by swamping his office with the petition below! I call not only on conservatives but on all Americans, including my fellow Democrats fed up with seeing such irresponsible politicians taint our party with outrageous remarks and tactics.

Sign to demand Sen. Kerry apologize to President Bush, our Armed Forces and the American public before bowing quietly out of the race and resigning from the Senate.

To be clear, there's nothing wrong with calling for a regime change. However it's a treacherous call while bullets are flying. Why comment at such a perilous point, as American troops surrounded Baghdad? As House Speaker Dennis Hastert aptly pointed out: "Once this war is over, there will be plenty of time for the next election."

And why link a change at the White House in the same sentence with Iraq's evil tyrant -- as if to liken President Bush's leadership to that of Hussein, known to feed opponents into wood chippers. Some things are more important -- such as America's war effort -- than a selfish ploy for the attention of primary voters. As House Republican leader Tom DeLay put it: "America before New Hampshire."

Kerry's comments were inappropriate, self-serving rhetoric designed to further his political ambitions at a time when the lives of America's sons and daughters are at stake. He is a failed opportunist, one who even feigns an Irish heritage to sucker voters, a disgrace to his party.

Sadly, this isn't an isolated incident. It's yet another gambit by a Democratic Party leader to somehow gain from weakening our nation's resolve. Americans must speak out -- regardless of party affiliation! Expose pretenders willing to risk the safety of our troops and the future of our nation for a chance to achieve selfish goals.

Make your voice heard in response to such betrayal. Tell Sen. Kerry to mumble his deserved apologies, drop out of the race and think twice before again opening his mouth to give further aid and comfort to the enemy.

Dear Sen. John Kerry:

I am outraged by your obvious lack of judgment in making your April 2 comment: "What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States."

To make such a remark while America is at war with Iraq shows you aren't presidential material. It was inappropriate, self-serving rhetoric designed to further your political ambitions at a time when the lives of America's sons and daughters are at stake.

How dare you make such a treacherous call while bullets are flying?! Why comment at such a perilous point, as American troops surrounded Baghdad? Why link a change at the White House in the same sentence with Iraq's evil tyrant, as if to liken President Bush's leadership to that of the despicable Hussein?

Having served in the military and the Senate, you know your words have an effect upon those who mean us harm. Are you really not sorry for giving our foreign enemies, as well as the suspicious Arab world, additional "locker room" material to inspire further bloodshed? Don't the lives of our troops and the resolve of the America public matter to you more than a gain in the polls?

Your self-serving ploy for the attention of primary voters is an embarrassment not only to your party, but to all Americans. It obviously disqualifies you from the race. To atone for your outrageously irresponsible remark, I demand you apologize to President Bush, to our valiant troops, to the American people, and then quietly step out of the race without further damage.

Your comments clearly show you are not responsible enough to be the leader of the free world. Own up to your mistake. After Sen. Trent Lott made his offhand remark, he apologized to everyone and stepped down. Be honorable and do the same.

At this crucial juncture, America needs noble statesmen to consider for the White House, not petty politicians. Your mettle has been tested, and you have been found lacking. Sen. Kerry, if you really love America and have our nation's best interests at heart, make your apologies and exit stage left.

hehe, you expect Kerry to stop his race because Republicans want him to? That's funny. As an Edwards supporter, I love it!

It is fun to express how much of a loser Kerry actually is. Mr.Edwards would be the only intelligent sacrificial lamb the Democrats have to offer, but even then, Mr.Edwards doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Hades of winning the general election.

Stay overconfident Bill, that's how we like it. Edwards supported the war 100%, just like I did. Edwards even flew to Camp Lejune with Bush on Air Force One to greet the troops. Edwards, as Karl Rove let slip, is the one guy they don't want to face. Basically, an Edwards nomination reduces the debate to one issue.... economy.

If Edwards could win the biggest tobacco lawsuit in our nations history, and still win a statewide election in North Carolina... you know the guy has charm.

If Rove is as wise as he's made out to be - that was no slip!

Shane, I hate to be the one to burst your dream balloon, but Edwards wouldn't even be able to carry NC.

Der Alte,
Remember when they said he couldn't win a statewide seat in NC because of the tobacco lawsuit?
