I am trying to do some (personal & informative) research on the groups that are leading the anti-war protests, I have heard that some of them sponsor terrorism, while others have socialist and communist agendas. *Does anyone have any links or factual information that might help? *Once I have compiled the info, I will try to remember to post it here. *

By the way, after reading the forum posts for sometime, I have finally had the time to join GOPUSA! *I enjoy what everyone has to say about our great country; hopefully I will have something to contribute as well… *-Take Care *

I came across this site (http://www.authoritarianopp ortunistswhocozyupto genocidaldictators-forpeace.org/), it has some interesting information....

If anyone has any newspaper links, or other articles about the anti-war organizations, please drop me a line.. What I can tell so far, almost 75% of these organizations have some sort of socialist agenda.. no surprise..

Thanks..

You're right KM. *They certainly are leftwing. *As a matter of fact I was going to suggest * *Link..... (http://www.leftwing.com/) *it used to have the name of every leftwing organization in the world, I do believe, but it wouldn't come up tonight. *Maybe they've moved it because too many conservatives were looking up their addresses and e-dresses. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rofl.gif

BTW, welcome to the forum. *Hope you find what you want. *We have lots of different neighborhoods here, so just wander around. *You"ll always find friends in the Precinct. *Just bring your http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif *or your *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_bubbly.gif and visit a spell.

National Student Strike - March 5th LIST OF PARTICIPATING CAMPUSES (http://www.nyspc.net/strikelist.html)

Quote[/b] ]About United for Peace & Justice
United for Peace & Justice is a new national campaign that brings together a broad range of organizations throughout the United States to help coordinate our work against a U.S. war on Iraq. At an initial meeting in Washington, DC on October 25, more than 70 peace and justice organizations agreed to form United for Peace & Justice and signed on to the following statement:

The demand placed on us by world events is to deal with the Iraq crisis and to work to stop the war that is being planned. This is unfolding in a global context where other crises can and will erupt in connection to the Iraq crisis and they too will demand our action. In addition, we will oppose new repressive measures at home. We can and will work together now, focused on stopping this war, and as we go forward we will discuss other issues and the larger context. Unite for Peace & Justice and say NO! to war.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but if you go to any "peace" site, they usually have a list of sponsors and members.

Defender_of_the_Repu blic, Charie, and everyone else-

This information is great! Hopefully I’ll have a summarization of these organizations so that all individuals both pro and anti war can decide if they really want to participate with organizations that use words like communism, socialism, and fascism.. *

I’m a senior in college and am sick of seeing my fellow classmates participating in anti-war rallies because it is the “hip” thing to do, I would like to expose the associations that these people probably don’t realize that their supporting…

Charie – Thank you for the warm welcome, I really enjoy this forum, it is the by far the best I’ve found… http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hi Jon,

Nationally ANSWER is calling for a walk out in the case of war and the national Pledge of Resistance campaign has participants in many different cities who have committed to civil disobedience actions if the war begins. I’m sure there will also be many spontaneous actions if the bombing begins.

I came across some goodies from Rush Limbaugh (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com /home/weekend_sites/weekinreview_012003_ 012403/content/across_the_fruited_p lain.guest.html); it’s from about a month ago when there was a huge protest in D.C.. *Rush was quick to point out that these protest organizations are really just anti-American socialists. God bless you Rush! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

The research is going well, I’ve now collected several articles, many websites, and lots of juicy information, much with your help, and suggestions.

I’m now looking for some exposing information on CODE PINK. *To begin, look at their slogan "Women's pre-emptive strike for peace". Yes Virginia, their definition of strike doesn't mean walking off the job; it means violence— in the name of peace! Even their website suggests that they should "Engage in outrageous acts of dissent." And to make matters worse, I was walking past bulletin boards dedicated to student organizations at our student center and found that the women’s resource center is fully supporting CODE PINK. *Don’t get me wrong, I agree that women should not be mistreated but this radical feminism gives me a headache. *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banghead.gif

Please continue to alert me to any information that you find… thanks.. * *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

So basically create an LA Riot-style of protest?

That's almost a terrorist threat in itself - "spontaneous actions"? What kind of crackhead bull$#!t are these people really "planning"?

"Walk out" is a bad term. More like "Lash out"...

And can we hold the Hollywood Leaders at ANSWER fiscally (financially) responsible for what their followers do? Rebuild a city, and then send the bill to Mike Farrell and the rest of the Hollywood idiots. ipetitions.com would shut down due to traffic issues for THAT measure.

I hope they remember that 2nd Ammendment issues are also readily available for private citizens to protect themselves, especially in "a time of war" against "enemies". This is just too disturbing to think about any longer.

Large anti-war protests come with a hefty price tag. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,81314,00.html )

Quote[/b] ]Not in Our Name is financed by the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization. I.F.C.O. is a million-dollar-a-year non-profit that supports Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and once sponsored a group headed by Sami Al-Arian — the University of South Florida professor being charged with fundraising for terrorist organizations Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Quote[/b] ]A.N.S.W.E.R. is an offshoot of the International Action Center, which intelligence officials say is a front for the Worker's World Party. A.N.S.W.E.R. canceled a scheduled interview with Fox News but a worker in the Seattle field office acknowledged there are ties.

"There are some Workers World Party members in A.N.S.W.E.R.," said A.N.S.W.E.R. coordinator Jim McMahan.

Quote[/b] ]The Workers World Party supports North Korea's brutal regime and I.F.C.O. defied U.N. sanctions when it made a trip to Iraq in the mid-1990s. Now, both are sugar daddies to the anti-war movement.

"The American people have the right to know whether stooges of [North Korean leader] Kim Jong Il or Castro or Saddam Hussein are involved in these demonstrations," Romerstein said.

Interesting fund raising (http://www.workingassets.co m/index.cfm?CFID=60612 20&CFTOKEN=51438965&CFID=6061220&CFTOKEN=51438965)

While chasing down the *link that I had posted earlier and which had never worked after the first day, I came across this. *Anyone who thinks these demonstrations are just grassroots had better realize that these are well funded by various groups of the communist party.

P.S. *I believe the original leftwing.com site is permanently down. *It doesn't work no matter which direction you approach it. However, typing leftwing.com in the address bar takes you to such wonderful things...... http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rofl.gif ....if you have a strong stomach. *Now I know how they can throw "vombs". *Reading through this stuff makes me wanna volunteer to throw a couple myself. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rotflo.gif Hit a few of the links and I'll just about guarantee it!

SHOCK & REVULSION: World Movement Fights Back

Borrowing a page from the nightmare of the Vietnam War
when a U.S. commander explained that U.S. soldiers were
burning a peasant village in order to save it from
communism, the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld cabal have decided to
burn Baghdad to save it from the current Iraqi Government.
The world is in a state of Shock and Revulsion as the
murderous Bush Administration follows through on its
promise to "Shock and Awe" the Iraqi people by dropping
thousands of bombs and missiles on their capital, a city
that is home to 4.5 million human beings.

This horrific unprovoked attack on a dense urban area must
be understood as one of the extreme terrorist acts of
modern times. Cruise missiles launched from submarines and
air craft hundreds of miles away and 3,000 lb. bombs
dropped from 30,000 ft. up are the latest example of the
Bush administration's criminal resort to limitless
violence and terrorism in order to achieve its objectives
of conquest and occupation. The hypocrisy of the war
against Iraq is extreme: the most powerful military in the
world waging first strike war with the most advanced
weapons against an impoverished country on the pretext
that it someday may possess such weapons.

The world has entered a new phase. The Bush Administration
is #### bent on world domination. The war on Iraq was
meant to signal that the U.S. use of raw military power
will be the means to create a new era of Empire. Iraq was
to be a stepping stone on this path of conquest.

To the shock of the warmakers, their plans have ignited a
world movement of opposition and solidarity. For months
this movement has delayed and restrained the war plans for
Iraq. Bush and Co. have lost all legitimacy and they are
isolated. The people's movement has deprived them of the
any threadbare claim to legality.

Today our hearts are today filled with both anger at the
war and sadness for the suffering people of Iraq who are
enduring this unprovoked terrorist attack. But sadness
and grief should be coupled with a profound understanding
that the sudden emergence of a new global movement offers
the best and only hope that the U.S. government's plans
for militarism, war and domination -- the doctrine of
endless war -- can and will be overcome.

In the days ahead we must intensify the struggle against
this cruel war. We urge everyone to stay in the streets,
and to organize against the lies and propaganda of the
death machine. Our movement has shown great energy and
strength in the last days. No part of the planet is free
from mass protests, including hundreds of cities inside
the United States. Now is the time to organize, organize
and organize.

Hi KM: That's the right site. What it shows is how well organized these groups are. "Working Assets" is the name. Click on HOME or ABOUT US and it opens up a whole new world. It is an ad. It's one of the ways that these communist groups are raising funds.

Working Assets is quite interesting - lots of BIG contributions (if not founded by) Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. *

They do a lot of grassroots activism - in the form of - Pay-Your-Phone-Bill-and-check-this-box-too, and they send out a letter to congressional leaders as if the customers wrote it themselves. *

But it's always pro-animal, anti-gun, gay-rights, and now pro-war. *

But you get a free pint of Ben and Jerry's each month!
