the other members of the ConservativeAlerts.c om team! Here are some of the
highlights of this past month's activities:
** We started just before the new year, when we told you about how Sen.
Patty Murray (D-WA) was caught praising Osama bin Ladin, with little or no
repercussions for her actions. We encouraged you to contact Sen. Murray
and demand her resignation -- and 19,011 of you did just that! Then, over
500 more of you sent her a personalized Federal Express letter demanding
the same thing! Did she resign? No... but she's sure watching her mouth
now! Way to go!
** One of the next big items was the need to tell President Bush to "do
the right thing" on race-based admissions policies at American
universities. He was wavering on whether to file a brief opposing the
reverse discrimination of "affirmative action," and it looked like he was
going to back down from this issue -- until our members sent him over
7,000 messages, telling him to stand up for what is right. And HE DID,
filing his opposition to the University of Michigan's policy giving
admission preferences to minority applicants in order to have a "diverse"
student body. Great job!
