RICHMOND, VA (Talon News) -- Liberal film producer Michael Moore is making the rounds on college campuses to promote his anti-Bush film and lambast the current administration, while the taxpayers are picking up the bill. Moore is expected to garner $40,000 from the University of Nebraska and a whopping $50,000 plus a security detail at Utah Valley State College, where the annual budget for guest speakers is just $50,000.
The controversial director of the Bush-bashing movie "Fahrenheit 9-11" was also asked by George Mason University to appear at the GMU campus in Fairfax, Virginia on October 28, but it appears that the invitation has now been revoked.
Students, parents and elected officials are outraged that taxpayer funds are being paid to Moore. In fact, conservative Republican Virginia state delegate Dick Black sent a letter to GMU President Alan G. Merten on Tuesday vehemently protesting Moore being asked to speak, noting that the $35,000 fee is outrageous.
