The Kerry campaign calls on a publisher to 'withdraw book' written by group of veterans, claiming veterans are lying about Kerry's service in Vietnam and operating as a front organization for Bush. Kerry campaign has told Salon.com that the publisher of UNFIT FOR COMMAND is 'retailng a hoax'...'No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them,' Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton tells the online mag...

They need to back up these assertions concerning UNFIT FOR COMMAND with objective, verifiable proof.

Nothing less than this will do, otherwise they might be perceived as misleading America, or possibly lying to us.

Isn't that what has been said concerning President Bush, that he is a misleader or a liar? Am I wrong, or right?

Actually the title of thread should say 'retailing a hoax'.

I didn't hear Kerry asking Shamu Moore to withdraw his movie about 9/ll even though he knew full well THAT was a lie!

Kerry's 'hurty feelings whining' sounds like a 4 year old who's mommy didn't buy him candy at the grocery store.

What a leader! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Every second of delay in the release of the official Kerry military records is another inch or so of erosion in the faith that he really is what he claims to be. *Frankly, if there is supportive documentary evidence, it's release should have been an up-front campaign booster from day one.

Partisanship aside (and I am partisan, make no mistake), Kerry can win a decisive victory and prove an enormous, heinous conspiracy on the part of officers and men in service with him and the republicans who support them.

Unless, of course, he really is an opportunistic, lying, horses patoot.

(I forget. *Is "patoot" ok for posting? I didn't want to use d****, *s**** or **v**-d***)

It is ok for Kerry to have a book "Tour Of Duty" which is now known to be filled with lies about Kerrys service (or have they rewritten the book to get rid of those yet?) Kerry told about several things that are in the book that we now know to be complete lies. He has the audacity to demand the withdrawel of a book that he claims is not telling the truth when he cannot even tell the truth himself.

Wow, this should come as a shock to the publishers of the 30 or so books released this year that bash Bush. *It would seem to me that publishers are looking for anything that will sell regardless of its veracity. *The more sensational the better.

If you think about it, what better endorsement of the factual basis of the book can it receive than to have Kerry and his campaign claim that it is a complete lie. *If they said the book was accurate I might have to start questioning it.

I have followed politics for a very long time now, I hold no illusions that politicians are ever scrupulously honest. *Over the last few elections though I have been amazed at how truly audacious the Democrats have become in their lies. *It is mind-boggling how far they will sink in order to win this election. *They don't even try to hide their lust for power anymore. *I am not sure which is worse, the fact that the leadership displays this blood lust or that the rank and file in the Democrat Party is either oblivious or complicit.

Kerry should get his buddies that were proven liars from his days during wintersoldier. They spoke of the same trash Kerry put out but, surprise of surprises, most turned out not to have been Viet Nam Vets. If he really wants to put an end to this controversy, he should get Hanoi Jane and her Vaginas for Votes group to tell America that the Swifties are wrong; they all were there just like Carville, Stephanopolis, and Bile Clinton so they know that Kerry speaks not with divided tongue.

Viet Nam Vet not for John, the war hero, Kerry http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif

I can't find "Unfit For Command" in the local Barnes & Nobles. They have a table full of Bush bashing book's, and also a large display of "My Life", by Bill Clinton. I advised the clerk that the "My Life" should be in the fiction section. He said nothing just turned and walked away, so I guess I know where the hearts of that staff lie.

Borders Book Store- Just got home from a visit to the local Border's Book Store. I thoroughly checked the New Release racks for a copy of Unfit for Command. Nope, not there!!! Lot's of copies of Slick Wilie's flop (at 30% off already), BushWorld by the wicked witch Maureen Dowd(y), Al Franken's Lying Liars, Why the west is losing the war on terrror by Anonymous. OK..not really unexpected so I checked the computerized store listing. It said it was In-Stock in the Political Section. I meandered back there and guess what...no copies....but suspiciously, EVERY anti-bush book on their shelves had a least 1 copy turned sideways on the shelves, instead of properly displayed end-wise. I let the clerk at the checkout know that some customers like myself actually notice things like that and we WILL remember that in deciding to NOT give them a return visit. Next step is to get the real flamethrower out and send a little e-mail to Borders Corporate office. Betcha I won't get a reply...

I stopped by Walden Book Store yesterday and they have no copies of the Swifties book either. The clerk said they had 7 people on a waiting list - he would add my name. When I asked him how long it would be before more copies came in, he informed me that there was no way to tell because the first printing had all been sold. I wonder what the real story is here? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Why is it that when Swifties are interviewed their story is consistantly the same? When Kerry is asked about his service, the story constantly changes?

JJ what you have been hearing is the sound of disparation.
heldmyw, rock on dude!
I have been "political" for years myself, and believe me many times the Dims have MOVED the peg on my BS-O-meter. Tax cuts for the middle class that proved to be a ruinous tax hike, the whole gun control mantra, the let's "engage" the evil empire and they won't hurt us rap, and Bill Clinton's claims of chasity.
Now we have some North Eastern, blue-blood, life long bleeding heart war Protester claiming to be a war hero!
I have a photo saved of John Kerry receiving his medal. Hero of the Peoples Revolution from the hands of North Veit Nam's Deputy Premeir.
If he thinks I'll buy this latest issue from Ferdinand's backside, John Kerry needs to get back on the short bus and get out of town!

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.

Re Unfit For Command: Regnery Press asserts that they didn't print sufficient copies in their first press run. (This from Hannity & Colmes, and Hannity's own website.) In the absence of data to the contrary, the Commodore is willing to give the Regnery Press, heretofore a conservative-oriented printer, the benefit of the doubt.

What Kerry & Edwards did was to cause interest in Unfit For Command to rise exponentially. A similar backfire occurred when our colleagues have attempted to censor books, or TV/Radio programs, that our common sense would state as obscene by local standards: interest rose exponentially as measured by sales and/or Nielsen Ratings. If K&E had left well enough alone, Unfit For Command would have been just another book in the 2004 Election Campaign. "And therein lie the seeds of their own destruction."

As it is written: "'Vengeance is Mine; I shall repay,' says the LORD." It is further written: "'There is no peace,' says my God, 'for the wicked.'"

Why don't we start calling for Kerry to re-release his book, The New Soldier... I think that would really help discern the truth about Kerry's anti-war activities. Hard to dispute it when he wrote it himself...
