Liberal Republicans, moderate Democrats, and obstinate independents (the ones who vote for whoever isn't in charge at the time) love him, and The Party practically begs for a scrap of his toilet paper, so they might find a few flakes of the 24-karat gold he excretes. I hate to say it, but he seems to be ours as long as he wants to be... even if his "Nay" vote did become my "no-vote" in the Senate race this year.

Quote[/b] ]What a shame that our senate can't vote correctly on something that shouldn't HAVE to be voted on in the first place.

It is sad, but, now that it's gotten to the point where it has to be voted on, it needs to be voted on by the people. The Senate could have passed this through to the people to vote on; they chose instead to leave this in the hands of the courts, and the ACLU-backed lawyers and judges who will gladly remove that power from us.

Morning, ya'll,

I heard a radio announcer say yesterday--one who is following the president around--that this will help the President, especially in areas like Wisconsin, etc., who believe in the traditional marriage between a man and a woman. * Sounded like he got a rousing ovation when he stated his position on it, in spite of the "oh-so-full-of-themselves" senators!! * If places like SD and a few other states could make a clean http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sweep.gif and replace the pinheads who voted against it, it would be a great day! * *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif

Howdy Y'All!

I have a message for the Whoopi's and Michael Moore's out there: It ain't the Bush people who are cutting you off. It's the American people who are finally starting to be heard. Their message is simply "Cut out the hate speech or we'll cut you off."

Never underestimate the power of the American consumer.

Now, let's all consume some http://www.terminweb.com/weblog/images/smallkk.jpgs, http://www.terminweb.com/weblog/images/smallchockk.jpgs, and http://www.terminweb.com/weblog/images/smallsprinkles.jpgs to start our day.

Very well said Dad. I wonder if the Democrats will start looking at how out of control they've allowed their spokespeople to become.

Good morning all.

For months the liberals have blamed President Bush for a long list of subliminal effects on one thing or the other. Bush’s body language caused every thing from prisoner abuse to the killing of that tiger that was stalking RIM’s back yard. I wonder it they will give Lurch credit for the drop in consumer confidence after he has preached gloom and doom day after day for months.

If asked Lurch can answer, “See! I can lead.”

I saw a den Senator debating the Amendment yesterday by saying that we should wait until the SC overturns the law protecting states for other states’ same sex marriages before we think about an Amendment.

I must have seen the last Whoopi slime fast commercial yesterday afternoon. My wife couldn’t believe that she was wearing a mow mow to show how great she looked. It was like a giant shirt that came down over her big fat – well, she could have been shop lifting water melons under that shirt.

Good morning http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif
I was very excited to see that http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/it.gif ads got pulled. Slim-Fast heard the American public loud and clear when we said, "Sorry, this does NOT represent real American values and we won't support a company who gets endorsements from commie fanatics." http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif
Some company is trying to put up a billboard in NYC with a bomb draped in the American flag with the word "Democracy is taught by example, not war." Clear Channel and the Marriot are fighting them in court because they think that placing an ad with a bomb on it in NYC is inappropriate. We should all e-mail Clear Channel and urge them to keep up the good fight! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif
E-Mail Clear Channel (http://www.clearchannel.com /Corporate/Email.aspx)
The group that's trying to put up the billboard is called "Project Billboard". You can contact them through this link, !Project Billboard Contact Page (http://www.projectbillboard .com/contact.html) which provides an e-mail address. Hopefully we'll be as successful with that as we were with Slim-Fast.
The marriage amendment wasn't a big shock to me. It was even less of a shock that the Hair-duo didn't show up. "You mean, we'd actually have to take a real stand on something that we couldn't spin out of? Oh no!" Is this the new John Edwards icon? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/boy.gif
How can I find out which way my senator's voted?
http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/medusa.gif is probably really upset that they didn't ask her to speak at the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif convention. Boo hoo.

I just saw a Slim-Fast commercial with Whoopi Goldberg. Did the company say when the ads are being pulled? I got the impression it would be done immediately, but apparently not, unless they just missed one.

Whoopi needs to realize that actions have consequences. Her remarks at the fundraiser were lewd and crude and definitely not the "heart and soul of America." Sometimes the most effective way to express outrage is to close our wallets and encourage others to do the same.

Good Morning All: Another good day - Whoopi is off and JK is still looking like an A**. Heres hoping that all the polls are wrong and the B/C ticket wins in a landslide - not much chance with the deep divisions in the country, but I can always dream.

We had huge storms predicted last night and they seem to have split and went around us on both the East and West sides. All we ended up with was a little rain. Somebody is looking out for us old folks. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

After all our painting and patching, we still have to put a second coat on the kitchen ceiling. That will be this mornings task. May not be in tomorrow - have to go to Raleigh to do a couple of repairs for the wifes daughter. Seems someone came by and didn't like her mailbox - wiped it out. Guess its the time for teenagers to wreck havoc before going back to school.

Have a great day and I'll see you later.

Good Morning all. Last night when I heard the news about Whoopi I was jumping up and down, told hubby about the emails we had sent and told him sounds like many Americans let them hear how they felt. I hope and pray this is just the beginning. It's time some of us voiced our opinions and stop letting the crazies do all the talking. I'm so elated about the Slim Fast Thing. This is the third time that an email campaign in which I participated actually worked! Snail mail takes too long, the telephone lines get jammed, but this...this is great!

I'm doing the back-up vocals on my Gospel cd now. It's so edifying! I sing each part dozens of times and then mix them together, combine them to one track and then sing the parts dozens more times, combine then to another track, and so on. I have 16 tracks and they can be combimed and recombined ad infinitum without any loss of quality because it's DIGITAL!!!!!!!!!
SOUNDS JUST LIKE HEAVEN!

Good Morning Everyone!

Whoopi did this to her own pocketbook. She has no one to blame but herself.

Today for me - bike ride around the lake. Docent in the library's rare book room. Don't have to cook tonight - it's his turn. YEA!

We have some fires in the east county but I think they are under control. I didn't think there was anything left to burn there.

You can tell the democratniks are afraid of the Cheney Edwards matchup - because they want Cheney off the ticket.

Hope everyone is well today and feisty.

Good Morning to All!

Mary Lou, I completely share your feelings about how nice it is to see we still have the ability to rally and cause change. My business is the web, and trust me, when a company gets bombed with too many e-mails it clogs up their servers big time. The internet has truly changed the face of politics.

Did anyone read Maureen Dowd's typical sour-puss take on the Bush twins? She just can't stand that these two girls are out there campaigning and she complains about their clothes! I don't remember reading her complaints about Kerry's daughter flashing herself in France. Au contraire. Anyway, I'm glad to see the girls on the campaign with their dad, and they don't look any different from most girls their age, so whoop dee doo. At least their dad doesn't look like Mr. Ed.

My senator voted yay yesterday and will be getting my thanks today for doing so. I also sent my letter of thanks to Slim Fast. I hope these e-mails don't give them more headaches.

Der Alte- never give up hope for a landslide. A mandate would be swell, and depending on what happens between now and November, you never can tell.

Have a good one everybody!

The groundswell is growing for the ouster of Vice-President Cheney by the Democrats and some disaffected Republicans. I think that the disaffected Republicans want the job. There is also a guy by the name of Larry Sabato, who says that Cheney is hurting the Republican Party. Postscript to the Mig Photos shared by Mary Lou that I know you'll all enjoy. *Further proof, Saddam just wanted to be left alone and wasn't going to do anything as long as we contained him. * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

According to an article written by Tom Cooper on the Air Combat Information Group website on 9/25/2003, between 30 and 40 Iraqi jets were found hidden in the sand in July, 2003.
They were located at the al-Taqaddum air base about 250km west of Baghdad.

The planes were a part of the Iraqi air force, ordered from Russia in 1977 and delivered in 1980.

Although the MiG-25 is an older Cold War era jet, published reports say this particular plane was an advanced version with technology and capabilities not before seen by Western observers.

I'm sure that there is no real issue there...it just makes me mad, because you KNOW that they use that commercial as much as possible because we aren't allowed to have political commercials...and he manages to get in anyway. *Now that I think about it, I never heard that commercial before...oh, May? *And now it's on nearly every break...coincident?h ttp://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?

It would be interesting to hear the reason that Larry King gave to backing out of the Moore interview.

His reason is surely more interesting than the interview would have been.

Whoopi has no one to blame but herself.

For both - her words and her weight.

I hope she no longer gets free cases of Slim-Fast - that's probably even more of a punishment.

Good Afternoon All: Whoopie, no not her, just that the kitchen and dining room ceilings are finished. I loved Bill McCuddy's statement on FOX about Whoopie, "Laugh about this, you are fired". None of his remarks were what you could call kind - said she probably needed the job since her series had lost its ratings.

In the world of zero-lot-lines, the lawn is done in fifteen minutes! *You're right though. I used up nearly 12gigabites doing the back up vocals. I needed to pause and "optimize" the file. That means erasing all the unwanted data and opening up new space on the drive for new vocals. The Mary-Lou Mass Choir is almost done! I will NOT do the lead vocals till another day, as I am getting tired.

The song I'm working on right now is "This Little Light Of Mine" and it's coming out great. I wish I knew how to make it into an MP3 so Yooze all could hear it.

I recorded a student in a session yesterday. He had to make an audition cd *to get into an "Arts" High School. He is a flute player. In three hours he had a beautiful cd of "Hymn to the Sea" from Titanic, The Sound of Music, and Climb Every Mountain. I accompanied him on the keyboard. It came out great, but I have to admit that listening to a live flute through headphones for three hours is grueling. I had a headache last night that defeated even the Imitrex I have for migraine. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yikes.gif

Go to www.apple.com and download iTunes for windows. It is only a 10.5mb file. With iTunes you can export the songs to the library. When you import from the cd, it will automatically convert to mp3. Then you just email it to Terri as an attachment.

ok - I have just returned from spending my afternoon in the bastion of liberalism - the central library. Oy vey.

On the sidewalk outside are four signature gatherers who are asking people to sign a petition to "Defeat Bush" - they seem to be wearing (I didn't get a real close look) DNC red t-shirts. They didn't ask me to sign - probably because I look like an elephant. (ha)

Inside the library is advertised a lecture to be given by the Professor from San Diego State University (political sciences dept) - already you know it can't be good - called "The Last Man Standing" - about the politics in Texas.

He is going to be discussing the views of people like Anne Richards, Mollie Ivens, Paul Begala and two others named as Clinton appointees. That's on the left. On the right is Karl Rove. Seem like an evenly balanced lecture to you? Evenly represented?

Seem a bit one sided to you? I was told that the library person who organized this is a liberal. What else?

Tell me I am not alone.

Tell me I am not the lone conservative crazy in the world.

I don't post very often and don't know how to use the codes, but I wanted to tell everyone that I attended a rally for President Bush last night in Green Bay, WIS. I have to tell you that this was the most exciting event I have ever attended. Wayne Newton and Dennis Miller were on hand for entertainment and great speeches before the President arrived.

This arena holds 10,000 people (it is new) and there were very few empty seats. When he arrived there was such a thunder of applause that the windows rattled! I think he was amazed at the reception he got. When he was done with his speech, he said "thanks for inviting me, maybe I should come back" This totally brought the house down. What a man!!

If anyone gets the chance to see him at a rally in their area, I highly recommend it. Our tickets were free.

You have left no doubt in anyone's mind who you prefer as president. But, don't you think it would pay you to remember that many of us on AOL are conservatives and pay dearly for your service. We DON'T appreciate your one-sidedness!

Either give them equal time or NO time! Or, could you do without all of the BUSH supporters who now use AOL???

Beulah Garrett

They have been on the receiving end of my anger many times by email and by phone!! OF course, their support is now in India, so it's really hard to fuss at those people. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks SOR for the nudge! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

I hope they heed you. I don't have AOL and I've have never liked them, so they probably aren't interested in me. But One Of Their Customers...AHA! That's another story entirely!

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.

Re the DUMB o c RATS and their filibustering about a proposed Constitutional Amendment re the Defense of Marriage, a far more deadlier foe awaits the DUMB o c RATS:
The House Judiciary Committee passed yesterday and sent on to the full House a bill which, if enacted, would bar judicial review of the Defense of Marriage Act. The Congress has the right under present law to determine the jurisdiction of the Federal Judiciary; this goes back to the Judiciary Act of 1789 establishing the Court system. (Note to the Forum: verify this under Fox News, the House website, C-SPAN, or Google™, under DOMA or "Defense of Marriage Act".

This is not the first time the Congress has told the Federal Judiciary what their boundaries are. Under the current round in the Abortion on Demand debate, the Congress inserted language into the bill signed by GW requiring the Supremes to hear the case. The Commodore's only regret on that language was that the Congress didn't state explicitly that the Supremes had to vote unanimously, 9-0, on the merits of the case.

In recent years, the Supreme Court has been acting indeed as if it were a standing Constitutional Convention. The Commodore urges all to subscribe to Dan Blatt's "Futurecast" site, www.futurecasts.com, and click into the debate on the politicization of the Supreme Court & the Federal Judiciary. An example (not used by Blatt) is the case of "Roy's Rock", the granite stone, containing the Ten Commandments and other documents, within the rotunda of the Alabama Supreme Court building. Judge Thompson's ruling went beyond the question of whether or not the monument violated the Establishment Clause; indeed, he wrote as if he were angry over the daring of the Alabama authorities to emulate George Corley Wallace, Governor of Alabama, and stand in the door of the Registration area at UAlabama to prevent Americans of African descent from registering for classes at the U. That part of the ruling the Commodore would have voted to reverse. The only question at law should have been as to whether or not the Monument was in violation of the Establishment Clause. And there is ample precedent on both sides Judge Thompson could have cited in his decision, and the Appellate court having jurisdiction could have reviewed on the merits of the case at bar.

Hence the Commodore urges all in Forum to contact their Representatives to support the legislation to bar judicial review of the Defense of Marriage Act. Social issues are too important to be left to unelected Federal judges, but rather to the Legislature in our republican system of government.

I did manage to get in a quick note to Slim*Fast yesterday. Probably not before they decided to deep six her, though.

I received my notification they had received my e-mail, so I was happy about that.

This is what I sent:

So you're really going to use Sewer Mouth Goldberg as your spokesperson.

Gotta tell ya guys, if I weighed 900 pounds I'd never touch another Slim.Fast.

Have a nice day.

Stormy, good on you for your stance on AOL's bias. You're a lady who stands up for her rights. And they're rights that really mean something.

Got to get to http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sleepy.gif My head wants to slam down on the keyboard. Will see you tomorrow.

Quote[/b] ]To send AOL an email letting them know what you think about their Robot click here.AOL Email. I sent AOL an email but since I don't subscribe to their service they rejected my email and returned it unopened. I just thought that I would pass that info along. I guess only current AOL subscribers can email them. Not to fret though, here is their online help page where you can chat with a consultant and tell them your views in this matter. I talked with one and they were very cordial and assured me they would pass the information on to the proper persons. *AOL Online Help (Chat) (http://www.aol.com/help.adp) Also on this page is their phone numbers in case anyone wanted to call them.

Sor- I sent an e-mail to AOL when I read that article too! We will keep the pressure up on things like this, because it really does make a dent.

I had my 12 year old show me what these buddy robots are and I tested one out myself. I asked the robot if it like George Bush, to which it replied, "I always support the American President, regardless of political party." Yeah right, and Hans "Mr. McGoo" Blix has 20/20 vision. I think they've reprogrammed their auto-responses already. AOLiberal is all I'm going to say.

Basheva, you know you're not alone, but I wonder about that sometimes myself in given situations. Double Oys.

However, we had a wonderful Party for the President this evening- good cuisine, and even better company. I came home with my new yard sign and various other items- I would have bought GW shoes if they had them! I'm such a nerd. We also worked on some campaign postcards, and my hubby has bestowed the honor to me of calling these folks and reminding them to register and vote next week. I'll work on my best Southern sweet voice, unless they hang up on me!

So with that.. night y'all.
