<span style='color:navy'>Good morning and welcome! We're glad to see you. The Precinct is where all the members gather to talk about everything, and to get acquainted, so come on in and let's get started. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/chatter.gif
Sometimes I am struck by how strange the news is. Maybe my age is showing but do you ever think about how different it is now than it was just 10 years ago? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/red_eyes.gif
Even with a lot of that very strange news centering around Iraq, civilians are continuing to go there to work for contractors. I guess the money is just too good to pass up. Would you drive a truck in Iraq for $80,000 a year?
Another very strange story was Colin Powell's press assistant interrupting his interview on Meet the Press on Sunday. I'm still laughing about that one. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif

Good Morning All: Guess this will set a personal record for me - I usually have another 4 hours in bed. Makes me think about 1999 - the last year that I worked and had to get up early in the morning. We will be leaving for the heart center in just a little bit, but wanted to say good morning to everyone.
For $80,000 a year, tax free, you can find a lot of takers - no matter what the risk. Wouldn't mind availing myself of the opportunity - just to old.

Maybe Lardbucket Louie (MM) can make another fictitious (sic) film about that. *He does specialize in "real" fiction, doesn't he? *Or docudramas? *Or double bacon cheeseburgers? *I'm really surprised that one of the maniacs from the ME didn't lob a bomb at the Cannes Filth Festival. *Man, I doubt there was *enough fabric in all the women's dresses there to cover your average banquet table. *A blast from the past. *I saw my first bikini in a Life magazine photo shoot at the Cannes thing back around 1950 or so. *That one would have made 4 of the present day bikinis. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif *I'm thinking the swimsuit manufacturers are working their way out of a job. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Good morning all.
Russert was doing an interview with Powell and the time was about up but Russ wanted to ask one more question. Russ was still talking when the camera panned over to look at the Dead Sea. Little Russ had a fit and stomped his feet like a little girl so Powell had the camera come back and he answered the question. Apparently one of Powell’s staff had the camera moved because he was sick of little Russ.
Russert, who I understand from some of my liberal friends has recently turned against President Bush, was so stunned that such a thing could happen to him he almost blacked out.
I could amaze y’all with true stories that seem less than possible but you’re all too old.

On Sunday's "Meet the Press" Russert continued questioning Powell beyond the agreed upon 10 minutes, so one of *Powell's staffers shifted the camera away from Powell. *Russert (and Powell) got upset, then Russert had a 'hissy fit'. *
"A taxpayer-paid employee interrupted an interview," an angry Russert said after the program. "Not in the United States of America, that's not supposed to go on. This is attempted news management gone berserk. Secretary Powell was really stand-up. He was a general and took charge."
State Department spokeswoman Julie Reside told the Washington Post she disagreed with Russert's account. She said that NBC "went considerably beyond the agreed end time. Other networks were waiting for their interviews and had satellite time booked, and we didn't want to keep them waiting."

Good morning all you fine GOP'ers!!!The sun is shining...we dont know for how long...but for right now its a welcome change!
Listening to fox this am...they keep reporting about the artillery shell with the sarin gas...I wonder if they are the only ones. I think possibly some of the insurgents stumbled upon this cache...having no idea it contained this poison. Let us hope they find the WMD's before the terrorists do.
They also reported on fox this am..that the 9/11 commissions report could alter the elections this fall. Now that gives me cause to worry. What have they turned up...that would do that? My fear is that they are still doing the finger pointing thing at W and his cabinet when in fact the finger should have been pointed all along at clinton. I hope that this commission( perfectly timed) will not hurt our President.I think he has performed admirably after the 9/11. From all of the evidence I have seen....nothing really pointed to the deed of 9/11. If your intelligence couldnt tell you...then you are in the dark. There is one thing I wished W had done..was to replace the CIA boss...and anyone who was even remotely connected with clinton. I think the intelligence people are the ones who failed the US.
Now after all that....I need some chocolate and coffee...yooo hooooo...Dave!!!!!?

Flower, I don’t care what the 9/11 commission find I will vote form W and the rest of the GOP should cut the self serving posturing and get solidly behind President Bush. * One doubting Republican can sway a lot of undecided voters. *All of us should be take the same track
David Kay is sure that the WMDs found of late are left over from the 90s. *Kay thinks that there can only be two or three more of them in the Iraq. *Saddam just missed them when he was getting rid of his WMDs the day after the UN told him to destroy them.
The 9/11 commission is still at it. *I think they will keep their jobs as long as they can. *They are blaming the NYC police right now and when they finish with them they are going after the dead people with the help of Madam Know.
We caught the guy who planted the Sarin filled artillery shell but the troops that caught him forgot to say pretty please to the guy so we had to let him go. *An anti-war weapons expert is on saying that the person who planted the shell didn’t know what it was.

Good morning to all you early birds!
DA, *My thoughts and prayers are with you this morning. *
I admit, checking out the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif forums is the first thing I do each morning. *And turn on FNC. This past week has been brutal news-wise, and I don't know about you guys, but sometimes it feels like way too much to deal with. *News overload! *If it were GOOD news, I wouldn't complain. *Terri, you are SO right! *The news is just plain strange. *Mainstream media has abandoned all common sense and good judgment. *And some people have the audacity to say "it ain't so". * What planet do they come from? *It's really sad to see that some have been so brainwashed already that they can't see it.
I saw the "Meet the Press" incident and I couldn't figure out what all the hoopla was even at the time it happened. *And I HAVE seen things like that happen before. *It absolutely did NOT appear that the press agent was trying to keep Powell from answering a particular question. * And Russert did finally admit on FNC last night that it wasn't a big deal after all. *Another incident of making a mountain out of a molehill in the media.
I'm really frosted about what is happening in MA. *While the world is focused on taking care of business in the ME, a minority is re-engineering society in our own backyard. * I'm glad Mitt is there to do battle, because I know he will do everything he can to get us back on track. *I mentioned www.defendmarriage.c om in one of the threads. *If you have not checked them out, please do. *This is much more than an issue of "fairness", etc. *
For the good news. *Spring has finally come ---hopefully to stay --- to Utah. *We've had three days in a row of temps in the 70's and the forecast seems to suggest that it will stay at least that warm. *My garden is waiting for a load of good dirt. *I've already bought the tomato plants and they are begging to be planted. *All my neighbors have already planted theirs. * And for the rest of the good news: *Life IS good. *The world may be in shambles, but my little corner of it (and yours, too, undoubtedly) is filled with blessings. *We just have to reach out and bring others in.
Hope everyone has a great day! *I'll be checking back later.

GOOD MORNING, YA'LL

Best wishes, DA!
The Powell flap: Imagine John Kerry's staff interrupting him. First of all, they're probably used to breaking in on him in order to change his shoes while the shoes are still in his mouth. And second, we'd never know about it because it would be edited out. Very subtle non-editing of the Powell interview has caused yet another minor event to be blown into making the administration look bad. It's all part of "anything for a win in November--we could care less about the Nation and its future."
Sarin and mustard gases in Iraq: Not a big deal according to "traditional" news sources. Can't find a thing about it on CNN.com. Plenty about gay marriages and transsexuals being allowed in the Olympics*. It's all part of "anything for a win in November--we could care less about the Nation and its future."
*- Hey, Mr. Olympic Committee. That ain't news. Remember all those Soviet and East German "female" shotputters and discus throwers in the 60s, 70s,and 80s?
Gotta go before I get to join DA at the heart doctor.

Well, the 9/11 Commission is now in NYC, looking to besmirch the memory of the brave and honored dead in Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, and the Fire Depertment. Never mind that they were called upon to provide services in what was essentially an ACT OF WAR. That would be like expecting me to do a Triple Bypass with a first aid kit. I will never forget the picture of the firefighter going UP the stairs when everyone else was going DOWN. I will also never forget the picture by Thomas Franklin of the three firefighters raising the flag, or of our President addressing the firefighters through a megaphone. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Quote[/b] ] GR, have a math problem for you. In Australia, the price of gas is 72 cents a litre--with it taking 3.85 litres US to make a gallon, how much is it in Australia Too early in the morning to do math! Don't want to show my ignorance, either-
It's early evening here, and still to early for math for me! LOL Not my subject! But while we are presenting the math thing...our gas is 49 cents (US currency) a liter on post, and the Germans pay *put on the thinking caps* 1.19 euro a liter (they have mega taxes). All, I know is that a gallon of gas on the german economy would cost an arm and a leg! LOL
as for driving a truck in Iraq for $80k non-taxable for a year...if hubs wasn't in the Army...he'd be doing that! heck, he was driving a truck in Iraq this time last year when he was wounded, and making a lot less $$...LOL
Anyway, it's 6 PM, and hubs is home, and I haven't even started dinner...just not in a dinner type of mood today...I think we might order pizza..hoohum...

I just spent the better part of this morning sending an encouraging e-mail to EVERY US Navy Vessel currently deployed (except maybe the really little boats..I don't think they were listed) With each click of the mouse, I also said a little prayer. Whew! what an experience!
Here's the link:
http://www.salts.navy.mil/
Be prepared to spend some time doing this, or you can pick and choose certain ships of your choice. There are a lot of familiar names on the list, and each one evokes memories and thoughts. I think I needed to do something like this, not only for our troops, but for myself. My "mouse hand" may be tired, but my mind and spirit are so refreshed from all that uninterupted, focused, intercessory praying!
Howdy Y'all ! (Trying out my former Texas accent)
I trust all of you are well. Hey! Big news on the home front! My youngest daughter is 22 years old today! Woo hoo! She just yesterday took over the reins of a Christian Summer Camp as Program Director so I'm - like - ya know - proud of muh baby gurl !!! The fun thing is that her younger brother has to work for her all summer as a camp counsellor. In truth they adore each other and get along great so we have that going for them.
I would drive a truck in Iraq for $ 80K a year. Depending on just where I get to drive it and over what....I might do it for free. I know!!! I could practice in Mass. - like near Cambridge ....hehehhehe
John Kerry's daughter ... okay - in my house when my son tried to wear his jeans down around the middle of his skinny little keister, I made sure he could unbuckle his belt with his teeth...know what I mean, Vern? When my daughter was younger and toyed with the idea of more revealing fashions, her mom and I gave her new ideas to consider - which she didn't like a lot but - uhm - came to - well, let's just say she changed her mind. I love being "the Dad!" Johnny K needs to step up and do likewise and help his daughter learn that she's not the only woman in the world, and very few of us care to see her nekkid! Gee, whatever happened to dignity and self-respect?
I quit Weight Watchers....I took the mirror out of my bathroom. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Well, I'd best get back to the wide world of number crunching and balancing the pieces. Oh...did I mention that this beautiful day you and yours get to enjoy is brought to you a public service, free of charge, by the one and only God Almighty. Don't forget to thank Him for it and while you're at it, maximize your day! And Smile! God loves it when you're cheery and full of faith and just loving on each other.
See ya later!

Hi people,
I was just wondering if anyone else here has ever thought of how easy it would have been for Bush if he were as dishonest as his predessesor to have planted wmds after it was becoming an issue for the Demons in which to attack him. It also irritates the heck out of me how the Dimwits expect the war to be like a mini series with a happy ending and no casualties. They remind me of kids in the back seat on a trip crying "mommy daddy are we there yet."
The good news though tragic for Nick Berg:
1. The death of Nick Berg at the hands of Al queada in Iraq proves the connection with Saddam and terrorists
2. Bomb found containing Sarin gas proves WMD's
No wonder those demoncats want us out of Iraq, they don't want us to find anything so they can continue their diatribe that this war was unjust.
It's a sad day when good news has to be minimized critisized and downplayed for politics.

Not to mention the thousands of Iranians who were killed by it and the Kurds in Halabjah. While the UN sat on their thumbs, Saddam had plenty of time to hide them or ship them out of the country to his friends. In a vast, featureless country the size of California, it would be a cinch. Even if huge stockpiles are never found, Saddam HAD these weapons. And even if the stockpiles ARE found, the left will come up with some other lie to try and discrdit the USA. I just pray to God that they don't end up in the hands of Al Qaeda, because they will not hesitate to use them on us, our friends, our allies, and even people who don't like us all that much.

Hello fellow Republicans!

I spent some time on that health messageboard (Shape.com) and argued with many of the girls there. Here are some of their comments:
Quote[/b] ]I certainly wouldn't want to tell these people that instead of suffering under the hands of a maniacal, tyrant like Hussein, we will "upgrade" them to the hands of culturally-disrespectful, abusive military personnel who. The things that were done to them are not taken lightly in that culture.
Do you honestly feel that these people are "better off" I don't even want to begin to imagine what's going to happen when we "hand over" sovereignty to the Iraqis and the warlords duke it out to fill the power vacuum.
Quote[/b] ]that being said, it doesn't take away from the fact that attrocities are being committed by BOTH sides. war is a terrible, terrible thing. i just hope that this all comes to some sort of resolution soon.
Most of them there hate our President, and many of them are not Americans. One of them compared the US to the terrorists, saying we terrorize other countries. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsdown.gif

I was in an office this afternoon..paying a bill...and the lady in the office had fox news on. I said..oh, you watch fox?? I said thats my fav news channel...and I am a conservative Republican. She didnt say anything for a few minutes and I thought uh oh..a dim!!! Then she said....I didnt vote for Bush 43 because I didnt like his father GHWB...but after 9/11...he was doing such a good job...that I am going to vote for him in november!!...I am hoping that many will remember his calm and reassuring ways and his resolve to track down these killers that they will vote for him!
See the 9/11 bunch is raking the fire dept and police dept over the coals for 9/11...I think personally somebody needs to walk up to that podium and slap the h**l out of all of them!
I hope you all had a great day!! Prim...so glad!!

Flower, I can understand your irritation with the 9/11 commission; they have done no good at all. All they do is look to lay blame of the right and deflect responsibility from the left. Today they were trying to smear Rudy because he was the mayor of NYC.
Lurch is talking about drilling ANWR? A while back he told a big union boss that he would let them build a pipeline up there. But what will the tree huggers and grass lickers say about that. If Lurch turns his back on all of the little helpless animals up there in the Arctic he will lose big. CNN says about ANWR “Alaskans are split on the issue, although the majority support the move.” With gasoline prices headed for $3.00 I wonder if the dems in the Senate will step back and let the energy bill pass.

Also this 9/11 thing in NYC is breaking my heart. Over 10% of the people who died on 8/11 were Firefighters, Cops, and Emergency Personel. Many were Chiefs and Supervisors. Rudy and the Pres were right there in the midst almost immediately. The bereavement experienced by the departments has been unbearable. What the hell do these people want anyway?
The Bible says "Do not be weary in well doing."
It's getting harder and harder to keep up the good fight.
Thank God for the Forum. At least we can know we are not alon!
