I have on Fox and Friends. I know, big mistake. Senator Kyl is on and making so much sense. He says the investigation is and has been underway and is going well. He practically said that Daschle and Gephardt should mind their own business because they know things are being taken care of. It was a good interview.
However the FBI agent who authored that Phoenix Memo has been endangered by the release of his name. Media has camped out on his doorstep and his effectiveness has been compromised. What is it these people can't understand about the seriousness of our problems?
President Bush will be speaking on the subject of Cuban policy today. No change is expected. I know that peanut farmers everywhere will be greatly devastated. :turquoiserolleyes:

Hope you all had a relaxing, fun weekend. It's so darn cold here. I hope no one has any thoughts about global warning! I don't suppose we'll be hearing any of that claptrap while half the country is burrowing in their winter coats at the end of MAY!!!!!! I hear tonight there is a frost warning here which means ALL those plants that I got at the flea market are going to have to be hauled into the garage today!
I've got to get rolling here and get to work since I wasn't there most of last week dealing with the daily driveway nonsense. I know they've missed me there (LOL) so I'll have to go get the place organized today!
Haven't even had the TV on yet today Terri. Do we have anymore car chases, or train wrecks, or bombings in Israel? They all seem to be a daily occurrence anymore.
RIM, keep that calendar close to your heart so you don't accidentally go into work on a day off! THAT would be a major calamity because I'm sure they'd have you stay anyway!
KEEP SMILING YA'LL AND, OF COURSE,MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!!
Saber,
* It always feels like global warming here, so I could probably hardly tell the difference anyway. Hope everyone had a great weekend. We finally got rain yesterday in SW Florida. This was a GOOD thing (after none for over a month). Anyone looking to escape from the cold, feel free to visit. Florida could use the money. Have a great week, I will be around off and on (out of town Wednesday and Thursday on business).

Oh Lordy!!!! THAT is hysterical Terri! The idiot is popping wheelies!
I'm sorry, it must be my hard heart. Could someone explain to me WHY in the world we send millions and billions of dollars to dictators and despots all around the world..many of whom would like to see us dead? Has it not been very obvious that our "compassion" does not reach the people to whom we say it is intended? That's MY money going to Fidel and Saddam and Prince whoseywhat in SA. This is insanity, pure and simple IMO.
angelus
05-20-2002, 11:44 AM
Gephardt sure did a 180 real quick today. He actually expects us to forget his Watergate-style questions so soon? How dumb does he think we are? Oh I forgot, he's an elected Democrat, so he relies on us being dumb (and I say elected Democrat to draw the line of distinction between the every-day Democrat who is uninformed or doesn't care or is a Democrat because mommy and daddy were Democrats, so they are too no matter what they believe, etc, and those in power positions).
I think Bush is doing a good thing for Cuba. Without sending them more money, the chances of political and economic reform would diminish. I see the more money thing as a gesture of good faith, an incentive to get the ball rolling. If it doesn't happen, look for the money to decrease again. But that's just my speculation, based on nothing other than what I hope it is
As for global warming, I might believe in it if I lived in Florida or Luisiana (which is where I was born, but my family moved to Ohio when I was 2 years old). Then again, I do believe that there is miniscule warming, meaning that the planet is getting warmer each year at a very slow pace. Not because of our emissions from cars and such, but because of increased sun-spot activity. The Sun is getting hotter, in other words, so it stands to reason that more heat reaches us.
Anyone remembering Revelation 16:8 yet? "The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire."
I'm not saying the entire bowl has been poured, but it seems to me that the pouring is happening slowly as we lead up into the Tribulation. God is a God of order, and in this way, the sun gets hotter in an orderly fashion so when the time comes, hello heat-wave.
I don't mean to scare people, but to me, this is just more proof that the Bible is fact, not fiction, and I hope I can convince someone who is a non-believer to at least give it a chance.
I'm just exercising my duty as a Christian to witness to people, and I think the global warming thing is a great way to start in today's day and age. Because, if the future is accurate, why then should the accounts of Christ and the resurrection (the past even as of the writing of the New Testament) be any different?
With that, I must go clean my room some more. It's a work in progress. Lots of clothes to get rid of, since I've outgrown them and/or they are no longer wearable. Those in good condition will go to either a consignment shop or the mission in town, so others who need clothes can get them.
Adios, amigos!

Happy Monday folks!
I must apologize for the readability of The Leftersons cartoons here on GOPUSA...but Mr. Eberle had a great idea to create a re-formatted version of the strip that will be more readable, which I'll now be supplying.

The Leftersons strip is good. I like it.
I just visited my old high school band, and I found out that they are having a special performace by the saxaphones at their concert tomorrow, so now I am really making sure that I go to that. After all, the sax is my main intrument, and I like to think that I helped them build up during my 4 years as a student and two years as a band camp instructor.
Not much new is happening with me today. I'm just going through the same old thing of cleaning house (it's an everyday thing with two indoor dogs and a cat), and watching Fox News. And I listen to music, when they start repeating stories for the 3rd or 4th time http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I guess I'd better go now so I can watch Bush's speech on Cuban Independence Day.

Hi Aberfoyle! I'm glad you had fun even if it was cold.
Seriously, re Cuba. Why on earth would anyone want to support Castro? *It is just as Bush said today, it will not help his people. Free elections and a democracy will help them and the U.S. will also help them when that day comes. President Kennedy put this policy into effect many years ago and it has survived many U.S. Presidents.
Perhaps we shouldn't have the trade policy we have with China.

Well, it has been a fun day. Only 3 days left until I can see my girlfriend! Woo!! And might I add a resounding "hoo!" to that.
As for China/Cuba, I think we should have the same policies for both countries when it comes to trade. And I do NOT support lifting the sanctions on Cuba. Now, with a little math skills, I'm sure you can figure this one out http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I see the addition of the angel smiley. That is good. What I would like is an avatar of the TV character "Angel", from the hit WB show of the same name. I'd use that avatar if it were available, since my name here is the long version of his name.

[color=hunter]It is scary--my husband said today--we're probably in for another attack. *He heard on Rush today (it wasn't Rush) that the best thing to do is just go in and annhilate all of Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and anyone else that is not totally FOR us before they get a chance to do us in!

Can't think of that fellow's name but he's a decent sub for Rush. I missed that part. It's tempting but we sell our soul if we do something like that. Wish I knew the answers. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif
