Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried playdough doesn't come out of shag carpet.
Real Mothers sometimes ask "why me?" and get their answer when a little voice says, "because I love you best."
Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade. . .
It is marked by the progression of Mama to Mommy to Mother.

I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!

Happy Mother's Day Terri and all our GOPUSA Moms!
Terri ~ thank you for those beautiful tributes to our mothers on Mother's Day. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_rose.gif *Even though I have no children, I had a mother who I miss very much. *She was the epitomy of everything ever written about the virtues of motherhood. *Thank God for giving me a mother so dear.
Yesterday was a slow news day (maybe because I didn't get to watch);) and when I did get a chance to sit down and watch, I http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/red_eyes.gif
Think I'll wander on over to the "Summer Fliers" article since I have a personal interest in general aviation and what is happening to private pilots. :o
Have a beautiful Mother's Day all!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif moms!
I'm with you RIM. *My Mother is the greatest woman on Earth. *We certainly have been blessed having been brought up by mothers with such wonderful virtues. *They molded us into the great "conservababes" that we are! *I pray that my two sons can look back on this old mom and be just half of proud of me as I am of my Mother. *She's my best friend and that says it all.
I did watch both hockey games yesterday and cheered the losing teams in each game. *I'm starting to get a complex! *The Avs lose and the Redwings win. *I may have to watch the rest of the games incognito http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/anon.gif! *I couldn't get back on the computer after the games 'cuz my son was hogging it playing StarCraft. *I'm playing nice about it now, but I'll have to start kicking him off pretty soon! *LOL
News has been a little slow the last day or so, but I think that's a good thing. *Things were spinning so fast and furious for weeks on end that we all need our "quiet" time! *My Mom lives about 6 hours away in Ohio so I won't be seeing her today either http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif. *Hubby and sons and I are going out to brunch with some dear friends. *I hear that Mother's Day is the biggest day of the year for restaurants, so, it should be interesting!
I'm going to catch some of the Sunday shows before we go. *BBL.
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_rose.gif

Good morning, all! *I managed to get my butt up early enought o come here before the excursion today. *Going to go out to Fiesta Bravo with my mother and grandmother. *
Has anyone seen the images of the Church of the Nativity now that the standoff is over? *It is horrible! *People were defecating and urinating inside this church of Christ! *All I want to know is where is the outrage? *If this had beena mosque or some other religion's holy place, people would pull their hair out and set things on fire and demonstrate all over the world.
Sorry to speak of such a downer topic on Mother's day. *But it just bothered me and I had to get it off my chest so I could have a good time today.
lpara, Glad you found the Brian Balmages site. *He is a clean-cut, nice guy. *We had him come in and conduct "Invictus" for us when we played it. *He is a wonderful composer and director. *He lives in Florida (and he can't understand why people had such a hard time voting there in 2000).
Well, I'm off to get cleaned up. *Again, Happy Mother's Day!!!

Good Morning Everyone!
Just checking in quickly before Janice and family arrive. *They surprised me with a phone call to say that they are coming down today too. *Yesterday was nice but today will be really nice!
So, I'm running around the house with the vacuum cleaner (Aknauta, want to help me? http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif) and just thought I'd drop in here first to wish all the Mothers, a happy day!
Terri, that's such a lovely graphic!

Terri ~ I'm in low gear today also, but for a different reason http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ~ yesterday I got to play "dead man" and today I'm really feeling like one. :o *Every muscle aches. *Well, I guess a dead man doesn't ache ~ let's just say I'm feeling the ravages of growing older.:turquoiserolleyes:

Well, I may be slightly livelier now but not much. I'm going to have to get away from this http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/compute.gif and go jump in the shower to get ready to meet the kids for lunch.
I forgot to say how disappointed I was at the Avalanche game yesterday. Only one more chance for them. They have to win in San Jose to stay alive. :turquoiserolleyes:
Angelus, I missed your post earlier. Yes, it is horrible what was done to the Church of the Nativity but it will be glossed over. Did you notice how quickly it was forgotten that the Palestinian armed gunman took possession of the place on purpose to create a standoff. The world deliberately chose to overlook that fact and instead blame the Israelis for what was happening.
Aberfoyle, that's great. Enjoy your family day! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Oh yes, Saber! When you go to visit Jesse you could take him a little something from each of us. Sort of a get well wish, don't you think? Please give him this from me. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nopityA.gif

Oooohhh! I'm stuffed! The restaurant was really crowded but we had a great time.
lpara, it was Palestian terrorists holed up in the Church of the Nativity. There were also peace activists there plus the usual monks and nuns who are supposed to be there.
There is breaking news that the Lukid party in Israel has refused to consider the idea of a Palestinian state. The story is that this may shake Sharon's control of the government.

RIM, two for one sounds good to me. I have 60 Minutes on, not sure why, but it's on. Anyway, they had a report on the mustard gas attacks on the Kurds that Saddam ordered 10 years ago. Everyone should see this report. Saddam will do the same thing to us in a heartbeat if he can.

I heard a good one on the radio today--it seems our capital city (Raleigh) newspaper (we all fondly call it the News & Disturber) had an article about Mother's who have boy children. *They (I have no idea who they is) did some sort of study and found that a woman loses 33 weeks of her life for every boy child she has. *Uh-oh, I guess I cut out two years of my life. *But, there is hope--if you have 3 girl children for every boy child--it counteracts the boy child and you won't lose any weeks at all. *It must have been some kind of feministic study or something. *I should think you would worry more about girls than boys--but I don't know . . . only have boys.:biggrinking:
P.S. Two for one sounds good to me too--maybe we can get Billy Boy to go over there too--Three for one sounds even better!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif
