I hope that all http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif mothers will have a wonderful day! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/daisy.gif

Remember that Fox News Sunday will have a salute to the troops today. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif

I have a question for our military members. Are military trials ever televised? I certainly hope not. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shocked1.gif

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yikes.gif Krispy Kreme stock is down! A lot! They think it might be the result of all the no carb diets. I wonder what this means for Dave and the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif Krispy Kreme franchise?

So far there are 6 people charged in the prison abuse scandal. Perhaps there will be more but not yet. Over 200,000 soldiers have served honorably, thousands upon thousands of medals have been awarded for acts of valor, hundreds of thousands have acquitted themselves with honor. Do they get attention or headlines? No! They have no political value for the liberal media. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/fire.gif

Remember the big fit Kerry threw when the Bush campaign used a fleeting image of the WTC in a campaign ad. The Kerry campaign is blatantly using the prison abuse pictures to solicit campaign donations.Kerry camp asks Rumsfeld to quit (http://www.gopusa.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.pl?act=ST; f=28;t=11525) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bushsign.gif

Evidently Sadr didn't get the sorry memos from our administration. He's playing hardball while we're putting on the gloves. He wants to keep female soldiers as slaves. Al-Sadr Dismisses Bush Apology for Abuse (http://www.gopusa.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.pl?act=ST; f=18;t=11526) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/it.gif

The Utah Republican Party state convention failed to re-nominate Rep. Chris Cannon to return to Congress. Cannon has sponsored bills to change laws for illegal immigrants. According to the American Conservative Union Cannon has voted the conservative way 96% of the time during his years in office. This is one of the highest conservative ratings in Congress so it is obvious that the delegates have turned him out over one issue. There will now be a Republican primary and Cannon still may win that. Your thoughts? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Someone will be along with our http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif Touch of Trivia soon. Be sure to participate. It's fun. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Words of Wisdom: "You say the report was well known. I don't know how you know that. All I know is when it made the public, when somebody took a secret document out of prosecutorial channels and released it to the press, I do not believe it was yet anywhere in the Pentagon. Certainly, I had not been given it or seen it." *Donald Rumsfeld to Hillary Clinton at the Armed Services Committee hearing

Puhleez! Sen. Joe Biden said, Bush must "demand the resignations for whoever is involved in this policy, and that includes Lord God Almighty himself. It includes anybody involved."

Please remember to pray for our President and for our servicemen and women who are still in harm's way.

God Bless our great country. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag19.gif *May Freedom ever ring!</span>

Happy Mother's day to all you Moms! I will be working tomorrow (well on Mother's day), so I thought I would post now.

Quote[/b] ]MyAslan, it's good that your father-in-law is safe over in Iraq. Can you give any idea of what he is doing without compromising any information?

My father-in-law is a Viet Nam veteran who is now serving in Iraq. He has something to do with those convoys. He does say that they are very tired because they get very little sleep. But we are so happy we got a letter from him. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Quote[/b] ]Cannon's failure to win re-nomination from his own party's convention is extraordinary and becomes a strong signal to the nation that voters are tired of immigration business as usual and that incumbents who constantly and aggressively violate their constituents' wishes on immigration may indeed be punished. From Chuck Muth's email letter.

I think the constituents know what they want. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif

I think that the dems want Rumsfeld to quit or to be fired, because it would be a dent in Bush's armor and they KNOW it. I wish Kerry and Kennedy would shut their yaps. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/notalk.gif The majority wants Rummy to keep his job, so the dems are working contrary to the majority. Lets hope this helps Bush!
http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bushsign.gif

I think I have told you that I have a part time job, for extra money. Well, a girl who worked there, died yesterday after having a seizure in her bathtub. She has a son who is three and a husband. Please pray for them. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/grouphug.gif

Talk to you all later,
K

Saw just little snippets of Rummy the other day...and that stupid old F**t byrd. Gawd why do they let him stay? They need to have a major house cleaning to get rid of them! I could give them a list!

KK stock down??? Well its not cause we dont do our parts here!! Dave...should be here soon...lets see today...something calming....I know...CHOCOLATE!

Good morning and happy Mother’s Day to our motherly types.

Over thirty years in the service, that’s a long time MyAslan, he must be a general to be bale to stay that long.

Quote[/b] ]I shout at the tv..as you all know.

My wife won’t let me shoot at the TV because of the noise and possibility of flying glass.

Quote[/b] ]Gawd why do they let him stay?

I ask myself that question every time I see Byrd brain and http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/frog.gif. *How can people vote for a man that, at the very least was driving around drunk with his pregnant girlfriend in the car? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/frog.gif's wife gave him the boot but not the liberal horde of Mass. *

I wonder what federal charges can be brought against http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/frog.gif that would get MJ exhumed for a closer look a the cause of her death?

I’m going to Austin to play with my mother today. *My older brother will be there at about noon and I suppose we will all go out to eat. *She was here yesterday and while I was digging a hole for the tree she brought she said that she wised she was 18, so I thought that if she young again she would dig the hole for me, but she said that she would do flips in the grass because it looked so soft.

Good Morning All: Looks as if we are in for a beautiful Mothers Day here in NC. Happy Mothers Day to all, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seems that both of the Kerry's are fond of the F word. Reporter on FOX just said it was not bleeped in the newspaper. Rich Crud. They think their rich status exempts them from being civil.

I certainly hope Utah's Cannon has fired his last shot. Its highly unusual for a state convention not to support the candidate in office.

Flower, WVs Byrd got into office many, many years ago when all the people from WV were Dimocrats and with all the pork he has garnered for the state, they aren't about to get rid of him. There are only two ways to oust him - the President will have to start vetoing bills that benefit him and the Rep majority will have to squeeze his pipeline to the Pork.

Still running behind and need to get with it. Have a great day.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. *When my son called to wish me a great day, I had to ask him if he had done anything for his wife. *After their first child I had asked him what he did for her and he said, "But she isn't my mother..." *Duh.

No Terri, a military trial will never be televised.

Too bad about the KK thing, but I am certainly not responsible. *There is something about people all around me talking about avoiding carbs that makes carbs all the more appealling to me. *So I have to run an extra mile tomorrow? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tread.gif

The Democrats have been running dirty campaigns for years. *Maybe I'm biased, but I have always thought the Republican candidates had more class. *President Bush certainly does.

Too bad Rummy can't afford to slap the press now the way we all know that he can. *I miss that. * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Sadr isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so as I believe Napolean put it, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." *It's only a matter of time before opportunity knocks. *

MyAslan, tell your father-in-law thank-you. *He is undoubtably one of those old soldiers who enjoys keeping the pups out of trouble, and they are indeed invaluble.

Did someone mention the bloated Senator Byrdbrain and Teddy? * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/fire.gif * (You know that someday they are both going to explode, don't you? *We can wait.)

Quote[/b] ]The Democrats have been running dirty campaigns for years. *Maybe I'm biased, but I have always thought the Republican candidates had more class

I don't think we've resurrected quite as many denizens of the cemeteries to vote as have the Dems. *We're usually not as blatantly vociferous as they are, either. *They're really outdoing themselves, this year, though. *Most of the party seems to have been infected with mass insanity. *Do they really not know how they sound? *The whole bunch of them sound like traitors to the country. *If they aren't aiding and abetting the enemy with their outlandish rhetoric, I'll eat my shirt with no salt and pepper. *Please pass the starch.

I think Dyrtybyrd must have gotten all the pork for WV that was supposed to come to WI. *We're ranked 49th for the amount of money that comes back into our state from taxes that we've paid the federal government. *Don't know who is 50th. *Anyhow, Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl can say they've done their very best *to keep that pork barrel from ever being dumped this way. *I wish someone could tell me *what the heck Feingold has ever done for the state. *Yes, I know, Campaign Finance Reform, but I meant something positive. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif And not unconstitutional.

I've been moving material, sewing machine and sweeping scraps, thread and pins off the floor. *The kids are coming over this afternoon and I thought I could do that much in their honor. *Wait, a minute, it's supposed to be in my honor, isn't it? *Well, I think I'll go put it all back and let them move it. I'm in the middle of a pair of pants, a ladies' hat and an American flag. *The flag is closest to being done. *There are just too many interruptions.

Have to get busy and keep on with the cleaning and straightening.

I'd do the Mother's Day trivia but my mother died when I was 3, so I don't remember her at all.

I would wish my mother a Happy Mother’s Day, but she is off seeing the sights in Germany and searching for family records.

It is fair to partly shabby day here in Central Wyoming today. The http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cloud.gif fairly large and kind of dark on their bottoms this morning. There may even be a bit of http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/raincloud.gif this afternoon. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif

It seems that Italian authorities have arrested some people, believed to be terrorists, that were headed to Iraq. It seems that the men in question were members of one of the offshoots of Al-Qaeda.

I don’t why I watch the McLaughlin group. It is same bunch of crap every week. Eleanor Clift and her liberals friends can’t find anything the president and his administration do that suits them. Only http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/light.gif spot was that Pat Buchannan and Tony Blankley was sticking up for Donald Rumsfeld.

The first court-martial for the abuses in the prison abuse case will be May 19. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/reporter.gif are that the trial will be open to the public. There are http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/reporter.gif that the UN arms inpectors under Hans Blix were also taking bribes from Saddam Hussein to look the other way.

I had something very interesting to say when I came in from outside but I have forgotten what it was. It may have related to the way PFC Lynch was treated while in Iraqi custody.

BTW, my dad has decided that he will not go to DC to speak at the dedication of the WWII memorial. No pictures of him and Bob Dole I guess. He says that he doesn’t want to leave my mother with my sister for that long but I thing he wants to go to a family reunion that is going to be on the same day.

There was abuse of prisoners but some of the pictures are of pretty tame treatment of prisoners. One thing that the press fails to mentions is that an Iraqi guard had given a pistol to a prisoner and there was an American shot. That may be why some of the prisoners are naked. One prisoner said that every thing changed after the shooting happened. A picture of a naked man with troops holding dogs on either side of the man looks bad but we don’t know who this guy was or how dangerous he might be.

What will the Hamill story be worth?

Ah, touche'. Who wants to bet me that more people will answer the RIM/Terri trivia than mine? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif Ok, I suppose I better answer theirs for now; my answers will be later....

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/1.gifWhat is your favorite Mother's Day memory? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif When I was really a whippersnapper (as in 8 or 9) I had a childrens' cookbook I received from my grandmother, and made my mom a heartshaped cake with pink icing, and in red hots, spelled out Happy Mother's Day. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif My mom was impressed.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gifDo you visit your mom on Mother's Day? *(If you are still living at home, do you celebrate Mother's Day?) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/daisy.gif Yep, saw her this morning at my MIL's house, along with my entire household family, my sister and BIL, and FIL. We hung out by the pool in my MIL's development after that. The boys all had fun. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/3.gifTell us your favorite story about your mother. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/chatter.gif This is a tough one. You may recall, I work with my mother twice a week, so there are lots of not-so-pretty tales I can recall. One of my mom's biggest accomplishments was putting together a colossal 40th birthday surprise party for my dad. My mom is generally great at organizing parties. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/4.gifDid/does your mother work out of the home? *Doing what? As stated above, my mom works with me twice a week. She does all the bookkeeping stuff for the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/orange.gif grove company we run.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/5.gifWhat would you most like to do for your mother today if you could? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif Good question. I would say send her on a cruise, but she does that several times a year on her own with her fiance' (before you ask, yes, my parents are divorced, obviously). Perhaps send her to a spa for a massage. I know Meryl sure likes that a lot, as do I and my sister.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/6.gifWhat is the most practical thing you learned from your mother? Staying organized. I am good at it. My sister and my dad are terrible at it. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
*
http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/7.gifWas/is your mother involved in politics? Not in the least little bit, although she is learning. My greatest accomplishment in my mom's political arena was getting her to reregister from a lifelong Dem, to registering Independent. She even generally votes Republican now. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/8.gifHow many children did your mom have? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/members.gif Hopefully, just my sister and I. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/9.gifThinking back to your childhood what was the best thing your mother cooked/baked? Actually, my mom was not a big baker, or a chef for the most part. However, her best dishes were homemade (not Kraft) Macaroni & Cheese, salmon croquets, and chicken soup.

Now remember you guys, you can answer the questions above, but at least try to answer the others, too! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/28.gif

Now, about the past 2 days (without benefit of reading the Precinct yet except today). Friday, as mentioned, I went to a http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif reception of the Chairman's Circle/Statesman Society members at RBC Centura (bank) with Tom Gallagher, the Florida CFO. He was in town to push for petition signatures (Sarasota was the statewide kickoff) to repeal the "bullet" train, a fiscal imminent disaster waiting to suck $3 billion out of the state budget, and which will be largely unused by anyone. It is to create an 80 mile stretch train between Tampa and Orlando, paralleling an already existing Interstate (I-4). It will not be much of a "bullet" train (under 100 miles per hour) compared with overseas trains (such as in France, England, and Japan) which travel at speeds of around 230 mph. It will also pull highway/transportation dollars from local needed road projects around the state, as well as from law enforcement and classrooms, from Florida's already extremely tight budget. At noon, I attended (with Matt) a luncheon featuring Gallagher, with about 160 people sponsored by the Sarasota Republican Womens' Club. Lastly, at 2:30, Gallagher and about 15 of the "faithful" went out in a local neighborhood (Oyster Bay) getting petition signatures to repeal the bullet train. We got about 150 or so for him in Sarasota. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif Personally, I can think of many ways to spend $3 billion in Florida tax revenue than this train. Let's hope the governor and Gallagher get the 800,000 or so signatures needed to get in on the November ballot.

Yesterday, I went to services in the morning with the older boys. Mitchell had another Bat Mitzvah from his class. After services and the luncheon, we went home, changed into our scout uniforms, and went to serve 2-hours with other scouts from our troop sorting food collected by the local postmen on their routes, in a food collection drive for the local foodbank. Following that, we drove to Turtle Beach (south end of Siesta Key) for a relatively informal Eagle ceremony/Court of Honor for one of the scouts in our troop. Immediately after that, we came back home, Mitchell changed back into a suit, and I drove him and a neighbor to the aforementioned Bat Mitzvah girl's evening reception. On the way home, I picked up Meryl and I Thai food for dinner. Otherwise, it was a relatively quiet day! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Anyway, gotta get back to pampering the lady of the househould, and making sure Mitchell and David are doing a good job washing our cars. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif *Give your mom (where possible) a hug for me if you can, and have a great Mother's Day. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Afternoon All: Palestinians dressed as women fired on a group of Israelis attending a memorial service for a woman and her 4 children that were killed last week. The Israeli military and police killed both of them. If they like to dress like women they should have moved to SF - they would have fit right in.

Been a beautiful day here. Nell's daughter came for a visit and brought her a present. I got her a pair of Rockports and she really likes them. I've still got the drearies from my sinus problem, but at least the headache is long gone. ALLEN, when I first read about Cannon I thought the same thing. But I got this blurb from NumbersUSA and is exactly the opposite. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Quote[/b] ]The Utah Republican Party state convention just a few minutes ago failed to re-nominate Rep. Chris Cannon to return to Congress.

One of the nation's foremost champions of amnesty for illegal aliens, Rep. Cannon must now face Matt Throckmorton in a Republican primary of voters in June.

Cannon's failure to win re-nomination from his own party's convention is extraordinary and becomes a strong signal to the nation that voters are tired of immigration business as usual and that incumbents who constantly and aggressively violate their constituents' wishes on immigration may indeed be punished.

Cannon's loss today is even more important because his pro-illegal positions were obviously the key reason.

Throckmorton, a former member of the Utah legislature, has made immigration reductions one of his two main campaign issues and has pounded Cannon for weeks for his years of working for high immigration and rewarding illegal aliens.

I know he voted 96% conservative, so I can't imagine why they would turn him out over immigration. Most of them support amnesty and open borders.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/1.gif What is your favorite Mother's Day memory? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif

Probably the last time I was recognized in church for having the most children present--6 * * But, just about all of my MD are good ones. * Those were "the good old days" to me! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gif Do you visit your mom on Mother's Day? *(If you are still living at home, do you celebrate Mother's Day?) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/daisy.gif

When my mother was living, anyone in the family who could be present was at Mama's house. * Of course, we always visited her a lot, anyway! * * She was very appreciative of her kids' visits. Even mine--I'm still amazed at her patience! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes2.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/3.gif Tell us your favorite story about your mother. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/chatter.gif

This is a hard one--but, on her 90th b'day, she was dancing around the house, kicking up her heels and saying "at 9:00 o'clock this morning, I'll be 90 years old!" * MY mother thought every age was special! * * She never lied about her age nor hesitated to tell it to anyone who would listen. * Everyone who knew her seemed to think she was an amazing woman! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/4.gif Did/does your mother work out of the home? *Doing what?

She hadn't worked outside the home since she and daddy left the asylum about a month after they married--except to do volunteer work for the war (canning, etc.) and then for the TB hospital! * *But, she did sell cosmetics from her home up until she was 95 years old. * *Ya'll relax--I'm sure I won't last that long. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/5.gif What would you most like to do for your mother today if you could? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Just like everyone else whose mother has already left this world for a better one, a big hug and kiss and an "I love you"! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/6.gif What is the most practical thing you learned from your mother?

Probably the fact that she never gave in to doing nothing just because of a few added years. * *My mother taught more by example than with a lot of words. * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
*
http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/7.gif Was/is your mother involved in politics?

No--I never heard her mention a politician until after my daddy died--however, I never heard him ask her who she voted for or tell her who to vote for--I'm sure he took it for granted that she'd vote like he did. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/8.gif How many children did your mom have? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/members.gif

My mother gave birth to 8 and raised 12 -- and, ya'll thought you had it hard with 3 to 5. * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/9.gif Thinking back to your childhood what was the best thing your mother cooked/baked?

Everything my mother cooked was good--her kids health would probably prove that--but, I think we'd all agree it had to be her fluffy biscuits! * Nobody could make them like her! *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif

Bet ya'll hadn't guessed that I love talking about family stuff--reckon that's cause I know it better than most things. * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

My mom and dad live 1700 miles away in Boston, and I call every single day to chat. I also print out cool things I find on the internet (mostly this website) and mail them, as my folks don't have a computer. They LOATHE Kerry. Isn't that great? My mom has six kids and I'm the oldest http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif . I was a trial. I was a hippie during the sixties, got married when i was 19 to someone not of my faith, took up motorcycles and became a conservative before anyone else in the family (from red to red, white and true Blue) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif My mom and I talk talk talk every day about how the world would be a better place if only WE were the ones running it. My dad is a veteran of WW2 and Korea, and since he was the ships photographer, I grew up looking at eyewitness pictures of the battles of Okinawa, Leyte Gulf, Iwo Jima, etc. I was surrounded by classical music growing up, along with lively dinner table conversations about current events and politics. I really love my folks, and miss them a lot. I've shared with Mom a lot of the discussions on this site, so she's almost a member through my participation. As Mom is wont to say," I've raised six kids, and they are all decent hard working human beings. I guess that means I'm batting a thousand."
When I was 15, I actually had the priveledge of saving my Mom's life. We were staying at a cottage near Cape Cod, when suddenly my mom went into screaming agony. I ran to a neighbor's house and she and I lifted my mom into the back of her Caddy and drove all the way to Boston to the hospital in less than a half hour. She was rushed into the operating room for an emergency hysterectomy, as she had peritonitis. The doc said that we did the right thing, if we had taken her to some rural emergency room without the immediate attention, my mom would have died. I praise God to this day that I made the right decision. God must have had a hand in it!
Happy Mother's Day!

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/1.gifWhich three presidents were elected and re-elected without a majority of the votes cast (i.e., less than 50% of the vote)? Nobody got this completely correct, but RIM I think was closest. The three presidents elected and re-elected without at least 50% of the vote either election were Wilson, Cleveland, and Clinton.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gifWhere will the 2006 Southern Republican Leadership Conference be held? Almost everyone correctly guessed Memphis. I enjoyed the one in Miami Beach so much, I just might go back. After all, I will be a candidate at that time, God willing.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/6.gifWhat did Senator John Kerry vote 350 times for during his career? You got it right. Tax and spend John f'n Kerry. Three hundred and fifty times for tax increases. No doubt, this is where he got part of his even-more-liberal-than-Ted rating. Be sure to constantly remind your friends, neighbors, and family of this tidbit. Be assured that EVERY, EVERY program Kerry has ever mentioned, has ever come up with, not only when running for president, but in his thirty years in Congress, WILL be paid for with a tax increase. After all, why in the world would someone so liberal ever care about cutting spending on anything, whether he liked it or not?

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/7.gifWho did Senator John Kerry vote AGAINST pay raises for over 20 times (22, to be exact) ? You guessed it. I only hope that every veteran, whether they once protested a war or not, will remember that John Kerry Does NOT care about YOU. Period. Well, when I went to my search engine website http://allsearchengines.com / and entered that name in google, hog search, etc., I found a family that was intense about documenting their lineage. *Nothing wrong with that, but, it's posted to the web no less. *

Actually, ML, if I'm not badly mistaken, the term "fair-to-middlin' came from a term they used to grade cotton back in the 30s & early 40s after it went through the cotton gins and was being sorted to be sent to the mill for weaving. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif*

Now, I haven't checked that out with Mr. Google, but I believe I've heard my daddy give that explanation. * *However, keep in mind that he's been with the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angel.gif s since I was only 28 and I'm 73 now--so, I could be wrong--I certainly hope not. Of course, there's a first time for everything. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif

BTW, I talked to a friend today whose two sons have returned from Iraq and he did say that they were doing well except that one is still having trouble sleeping from the image of "dead bodies". * *So, let's remember that these men need our prayers whether they are over there or in our home country! * *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/salute1.gif
