Happy Tuesday!

We had a good day for new members yesterday. I want to welcome them all once again and say that I hope they will be posting with us soon.

Apparently, Israel has promised to begin withdrawing from two cities in the West Bank. I still don't feel very good about the pressure we are putting on them and it seems that some of you don't either. *

The Queen Mum's funeral is this morning. It marks the end of an era for Britain and for the world.

Good Morning Terri and all GOPers!

I've been up about an hour now watching the television and taping the various programmes that are showing the live broadcasts of the Queen Mother's funeral.

I just took a few minutes to come here and say "Good Morning" and I do hope that wherever you are in the world your day will be the best!

We need some good news out of the Middle East and I hope that today will be the day for that to start.

Mrs. Bush is in London and Tony Blair and his wife just took their seats.

I'll check in later on.

We have a few changes here this morning. I've added a new forum for Firearm Issues, one for Op Ed and Media concerns, and a Suggestions forum where you can leave site suggestions or ask questions about the site. We also have a few new smileys added for those who enjoy using them.

Hi Aberfoyle! The timing for the Queen Mum's funeral was just too early for me. Maybe I'll see some clips repeated on the news later.

Colin Powell is having a news conference in Egypt right now but I've been interrupted and haven't heard much of it.

Yes, Bobby! Terri IS doing a great job. It will be so nice to see all of the new folk posting messages. I know that this forum has wonderful potential and Terri is the one to help it grow.

Bobby, Aknauta, and Aberfoyle, thanks so much for your nice comments. This is such a beautiful site and the philosophy is the same as mine.

Afternoon all. It's been a rough day, but there's only 44 more to go. My math kids are making me want to pull out my hair. I give them 12 problems, and they complain for 20 minutes that it's too many. One says he won't do it, he'd rather fail. Others won't do one step of the problem without me over their shoulder asking "what do you do next?". And this is Pre-Algebra. If twelve problems is really too much work for a 90 minute class, then I have to wonder what the other teachers are doing!

Oh Sue Elise, you sound miserable. Is there any chance of you going to a private school where the students expect homework and are better behaved?

There's lots of news today. Here's some of the latest headlines. I've posted a couple of the stories in the forums.

Sorry I haven't been around today, but I got up late this morning and didn't get home till a couple of hours ago. *I'm trying to get things together for my vacation and there is just so much to do before I go. *

SueE ~ my heart goes out to you. *I gave up on education long ago. *At least the "public" variety. *And sadly, it hasn't gotten any better over the years. *You are one brave lady to keep plugging along with a system that is so broken. *I could tell you some real horror stories about my friend who is a school bus driver. *I told her I'd rather go on welfare than have to put up with what she does on a daily basis. *

I can't believe it, RIM!! Aberfoyle is just about 8 miles south of where I live (thus my name on here) and the drinking water for our city comes from the Aberfoyle springs and artesian wells! That's something. Up here, Aberfoyle water is very inexpensive! Yes, we have WalMart but not in my city.
