&quot;The house we hope to build is not for my generation but for yours. It is your future that matters. And I hope that when you are my age, you will be able to say as I have been able to say: We lived in freedom. We lived lives that were a statement, not an apology.&quot;

NBC is reporting that the US planned an attack on Al Queda before 9/11. The plan was on the President's desk for his signature when the attack happened. The article is posted in the War on Terror forum.

Sorry I was MIA most of yesterday, http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/anon.gif didn't get home from work till late, then friends from out of town (Miami) stopped by on their way to Disneyworld and we had a really nice visit. *Also squeezed in watching the RR Congressional Gold Medal tribute, (with a big box of tissue) and after the friends left, I developed a roaring headache. (who says you can't have too much fun?) http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *Anyway, I layed down to take a short nap and woke up this morning at 4am. :o *I haven't read all of yesterday's posts yet, but I can see *that there is alot of &quot;http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/teeth2.gif&quot; stuff going on in the news. *

The tribute to President and Mrs. Reagan was so touching and after I had dried a few tears, I noticed that Daschle and Gephart were conspicuously absent. *Of course they had good reasons http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif and I'm thankful for those reasons. *

SR ~ I didn't realize how many pols and history we have coming out of Illinois. *President Reagan was born in Illinois (Tampico) and Dennis Hastert is from Illinois ~ just to name a few of the current people. *I know there were oodles of people in history who were from there. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif

I'm just boiling over this absurd partisan Bush bashing by the dems re: 9/11. *This is a classical case of &quot;your damned if you do and your damned if you don't&quot;. *A no win situation. :turquoiserolleyes: Is there nothing to which the democrats will not stoop? *I recall the deplorable TV ad during the election ~ a re-enactment of the Byrd dragging and a quivering little voice from a child saying, Gov. Bush, I feel as though my daddy is being dragged all over again (or words to this effect) ~ re: the hate crimes legislation, I think. *The party of the &quot;low blows&quot; and &quot;low class&quot; just keep going lower. &lt;EOR&gt;

SR ~ I'd be hoppin' mad if a work crew left me with a mess for a driveway while they went fishing for a week. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif *

Well, I'm off to see what I missed yesterday. *CYL</span></span>

Good Friday Morning! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/teeth2.gif

I'm in a very foul mood this morning. I doubt that I'll be around a whole lot today (you can thank God for that!!) until I can get my anger act together! LOL

Solve the world's problems while I'm gone, eh? (That &quot;eh&quot; is for you Aberfoyle as my CONGRATULATIONS on the Toronto win last night!!!) TOO COOL!

Greetings to all and especially to all our new members!

In honor of all our fine Canadian members, I thought I would pass along this tidbit. We are going to run a guest column for a couple weeks by Rachel Marsden from Canada. Here's a excerpt from her bio:

&quot;Rachel has never seen an igloo her in life, isn't a particularly big fan of hockey, doesn't know 'Bob, Suzie or Billy from Canada', and has never EVER used the word 'aboot'. She has been known to say &quot;eh&quot;, but only on occasion.&quot; http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Have a great weekend!

Bobby

Hi Everyone! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sunflower.gif

Breaking news item on Fox just now. They are saying that 3 men were arrested on top of a water filtration plant in Connecticut. :o

We had a good rain last night which we needed very badly. Sammy the dog is out in the backyard getting his feet muddy right now. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

RIM, it sounds like you had a mostly fun afternoon and evening. We need to recharge the batteries now and then. Yes, it's really too bad that the leaders of the Democrats are willing to sink to any low in an attempt to gain political points. I saw an article that said even many liberal newspapers are calling this an overblown partisan story.

Saber, feel better. We need a good laugh this morning. I'll turn on my IM in case you want to giggle. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/28.gif

Janice Ann, thanks for sharing that link. That was a fun performance by the President. He really does have the ability to laugh at himself. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Bobby, the guest columnist sounds great! There's always something new and neat on this site. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif *That reminds me. I need to send you some requested smileys.

Anyone here interested in the photo series of the President that caused Daschle and his smarmy crew to hyperventilate?

I got this e-mail from the Republican National Committee in response to my inquiry about them. At first they were only available for this special dinner. Now the photos are available to everyone and I hope they raise a million dollars for the Republican coffers. Here's the text of the note I received.

<ul>The Republican National Committee (RNC) did not offer these photos.

The photos are a premium offered by the 2002 President’s Dinner.

If you are interested in making a donation of &#36150 or more and receiving the Three-Photo Series “The First Year”, you may call 202-478-4424 with your credit card.

You may also fax your Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, Credit Card information (number, Visa, MasterCard or American Express, Expiration Date, and Name as it appears on the card), as well as the amount of your donation to 202-478-4422.

Or if you prefer to write a check, please send all of your contact information to: *The 2002 President’s Dinner, P.O. Box 1721, Washington, DC *20013.

The RNC hopes this information is helpful in obtaining the photos in which you have expressed interest.

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif Hi Everyone!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif

Nice to see your bright and sunny posts today. *This is Canada's first big holiday weekend and rain is expected all weekend! *

Thanks Bobby for telling us about Rachel Marsden, the Guest Journalist. *I haven't read anything by her till today but I like what I've read so far. *I laughed when you quoted from her bio. *I'd love to have a dollar (an American one!!!) for every time people say I say &quot;aboot&quot;! * And I've never said that once! *I do say &quot;Eh&quot; though quite often. *In fact, did you know how &quot;they&quot; finally came up with the name for this wonderful country? *

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif There was a group of distinguished men sitting around a round table trying to come up with the name. *One man said, &quot;Well, we should have a &quot;C&quot; in it, eh?&quot; *Then another guy agreed with the first and said, &quot;Yes, if a &quot;C&quot; is in the name, then we should have an &quot;A&quot;, eh?&quot; *After much thinking and pondering together, the last man said, &quot;Well, I've been thinking a lot about having a &quot;D&quot;, eh?&quot;http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif

That's how CANADA was named! *EH?

Saber, hang in there girl! *We need to have your rattling in here.

I loved that link, Janice Ann. *I was chatting to Terri on IM the night that that took place and I found that I couldn't get the TV station that she had on to watch it so I'm happy to be able to finally see it. *I loved the one of Dick peeping through the peep hole into the Oval Office! *

RIM, I also enjoyed the Award programme. *It was so nice to see Nancy Reagan and to hear all the lovely comments about her dear husband. *Thankfully, Angelus told us about it in here or I would have missed it.

Now... http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif *Back to my Avon packing!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sulkoff.gif

Good afternnon all! I slept in late today, and then I cleaned some house (most notably the bathroom, and boy that was fun, and yes that is sarcasm). Now I'm on here, and I'm also working on movement 2 of my first ever multi-movement symphony. I thought I would give that a try. This symphony is supposed to depict, musically, the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Of course, I'm only hitting the highlights, otherwise the piece would take 10 hours to play, most likely, and nobody has chops like that. And most people don't want to listen to 10 hours of music straight (unless meaybe it's radio or something, with differnt songs).
Well, I guess I'll go get to work on that. Hopefully I'll finally come up with a way to start it.
Take care, everyone!

Aberfoyle, I got a letter from Senator Campbell yesterday. It was a lengthy response to a question I asked him regarding his feelings on ANWR. In the course of his explanation he mentioned that Canada is currently developing energy reserves near ANWR. Do you know more about that?

Fox News is blowing off the lid of the Dems hypocrisy of 9-11. They're showing that Clinton had more detailed reports than Bush did, AND Hannity and Colmes will have Mansoor Ijaz on tonight. He's the guy who has been calling for himself to be deposed by Congress, to show that Clinton REFUSED to get Bin Laden when he could have had him hamded over on a silver platter.
Yay Fox News!

The Fox website is running a banner about a ferry fire near Scotland. Apparently there are nearly 900 people aboard. I sure hope that comes out all right. Sounds like a prayer is in order for those people.

I wanted to insert a smiley here but haven't figured out how you do that yet. I found the smiley but couldn't get it in my message. Come on Terri and give me the instructions.

Hi Aberfoyle and Terri. I am trying to catch up here but so many things to do and not much time to do it. I'll catch on soon though.
