Saddam's WMD Have Been Found

New evidence out of Iraq suggests that the U.S. effort to track down Saddam Hussein's missing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) is having better success than is being reported. Key assertions by the intelligence community that were widely judged in the media and by critics of President George W. Bush as having been false are turning out to have been true after all. But this stunning news has received little attention from the major media, and the president's critics continue to insist that "no weapons" have been found.

In virtually every case - chemical, biological, nuclear and ballistic missiles - the United States has found the weapons and the programs that the Iraqi dictator successfully concealed for 12 years from U.N. weapons inspectors.

The Iraq Survey Group (ISG), whose intelligence analysts are managed by Charles Duelfer, a former State Department official and deputy chief of the U.N.-led arms-inspection teams, has found "hundreds of cases of activities that were prohibited" under U.N. Security Council resolutions, a senior administration official tells Insight. "There is a long list of charges made by the U.S. that have been confirmed, but none of this seems to mean anything because the weapons that were unaccounted for by the United Nations remain unaccounted for."

This should be in every Bush campaign ad, the President should immediately hold a news conference stating that the WMDs have been found, and someone tell Bill O'Reilly that WMDs have been found. I'm sure he'll be surprised http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yikes.gif to find out that he apoligized for nothing http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/doh.gif. Once this news gets out, President Bush's re-election is guarenteed http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/fwork.gif.

When no WMD's were found...the dims danced with glee..They thought surely this would be the end to The Pres.
We know he had them...they are still there...maybe moved around a little bit.
I see the left wing press is surely keeping a tight lip on this again. Had this been a dim president...they would have found them months ago...might have been a medicine dropper with a germ on it...but to the dims..that would have done it! WMD's!!!
We were right all along...saddam tried to hide this always from the inspectors....they are there!

I agree Repeal. Not only ad campaigns but in his speeches. Why didn't Bush make note of this in his last address to the American Public? This needs to be done, ASAP.

He needs to get some new campaing advisors, the current ones SUCK.

We all knew there were components of these weapons still in Iraq somewhere, but this story is not something the Liberals will ever acknowledge until they are directly affected by the deadly effects in them. The Liberals are living in another world where there is new age music heard, it is safe and secure, and George Bush is rocking their boat.

I agree with everyone else here. . . the administration should be publicising this!

Well, so that Bill O'Reilly doesn't have to apologize again in a couple of months, I'd like to see the evidence that they really have found WMD.

The Washington Post reported on March 31, 2004, that new chief U.S. weapons inspector for Iraq Charles A. Duelfer, who replaced David A. Kay in January, "told Congress yesterday that no breakthrough has been made in the search for chemical or biological weapons but said new information supports a theory that Saddam Hussein may have been developing an ability to produce them on short notice." This sounds like reaching to me.

Duelfer "told two Senate committees meeting in closed session that he has refocused the work of the Iraq Survey Group (ISG) to determine Hussein's intentions. Why do we care what his intensions were. We know Hussein was a jerk and would have tried hurting America if he thought he could get away with it.

In his speech to the UN security council on Feb 5th, 2003, Colin Powell showed some slides of Chemical munitions bunkers. He said, "Here you see 15 munitions bunkers in yellow and red outlines. The four that are in red squares represent active chemical munitions bunkers." ACTIVE bunkers? OK. So maybe Hussein shut the bunkers down just before the US bombed him in a surprise attack.

However, Powell also said, "Our conservative estimate is that Iraq today has a stockpile of between 100 and 500 tons of chemical weapons agent. That is enough agent to fill 16,000 battlefield rockets. Even the low end of 100 tons of agent would enable Saddam Hussein to cause mass casualties across more than 100 square miles of territory, an area nearly five times the size of Manhattan." That was our conservative estimate. You don't easily move or hide 100 tons of chemical agent.

We've spent nearly 100 million dollars in US tax payer money searching for WMD already. I say, forget about trying to figure out Saddam's intensions when we already know what they were. We need to save ourselves the embarrassment and the money and we don't want to have Bill O'Reilly to have to make any more apologies.

Maybe Donald Rumsfeld should make an apology for helping to kick start Husein's WMD program in the first place. This, by the way, is something you also never hear about in the press. From 1986 to 1992, the US was giving Iraq chemical weapons and plans to make more. Along with plans for making nuclear weapons. Unlike, Powell at the UN, the proof for this claim is the May 25th 1994 UNITED STATES DUAL-USE EXPORTS TO IRAQ AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE HEALTH OF THE PERSIAN GULF WAR VETERANS. This is our own senate members saying that, even after Saddam gassed 5000 kurdish men women and children with the chemicals we gave him, we sent him more one month later.

It is frustrating. It makes the GOP look bad, and it would not take much for that type of news to get to the Kerry campaign. Save the money and time and give it to the troops who need it.

what about the 7lb. block of cyanide? The last time I check it could kill thousands of people http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag19.gif

Paul Harvey reported yesterday that a warehouse had been found and when we went to check it, found a boobytrap. it went off, but inside there were drums of chemical weapons. he proclaimed that wmd's had been found. no, with the liberal press, you will never hear about it.

He should hold a live mandatory broadcast press conference and announce it. But that would be the smart thing to do. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

The proof that Iraq hid the WMDs in Syria, is the attack in Jordan last weekend. The liberal media tried to downplay that as an abberration. Where did they (terrorists) get the WMDs, is what they declined to ask themselves? That incident should have opened their eyes.

Part of these whole WMD question that seems to have been forgotten, partly because the Republicans criticized Clinton for attacking an aspirin factory is this.

http://www.9-11commission.gov/hearings/hearing8/cohen_statement.pdf

Quote[/b] ]Concurrently, the U.S. intelligence community obtained physical evidence from outside the al-Shifa facility in Sudan that supported long-standing concerns regarding its
potential role in Sudanese chemical weapon efforts that could be exploited by al Qaeda. The al-Shifa facility had been under surveillance for some time because of a variety of intelligence reports, including HUMINT reports identifying it as a WMD-related facility, indirect links between the facility and Bin Laden and the Iraqi chemical weapons program, and extraordinary security – including surface-to-air missiles – used to protect it during its construction. The direct physical evidence from the scene obtained at that time convinced the U.S. intelligence community that their suspicions were correct about the facility’s chemical weapons role and that there was a risk of chemical agents getting into the hands of al Qaeda, whose interest in obtaining such weapons was clear.

Cohen didn’t think it was an aspirin factory until we found out that Clinton was too late and the WMD-related work had already been done.

The liberal media never ask themselves questions like this, nor do they "open their eyes" because they are all too happy to receive their marching orders and "truthful answers" from the Liberal http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif. After all, asking themselves questions like this would mean they would actually have to do some investigating rather than simply accepting what they are told. Never happen... Besides, the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (which I am a proud card-carrying member of) probably provided the WMD's so that we could say that Bush was right.
