Good Morning, Laurie & ALL http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/members.gif and lurkers--you know who you are!

Surely wish some more of you new people would come in here and post so we could get to know you! * Seems we have about 500 new members and the postings in the precinct haven't picked up! * But, then, Dave might not be able to keep 600 or 700 of us full of KK's each day! *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif

Thank you, Laurie, for the link to the Hostas--they are beautiful--I loved a lot of them. * My closest sister is named Verna, but those weren't quite pretty enough for her! * She's one of those people who deserves the prettiest there is--you know the kind who is always doing for others, cooking meals for the sick, visiting at home and in the hospital, etc. * And, her husband is a real gem, too! * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

Oh, dear, there I go getting personal again, huh? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif *

Hi Laurie, Hi Stormy, Hi Everyone. Let's start off our week with a "small" http://www.terminweb.com/weblog/images/smallkk.jpg delivery -- just enough for 600 or 700 or so for now. We'll bring more later to keep the supply fresh.

We had a busy Sunday here. The yard and flower beds are finally starting to show off their springtime beauty. Linda and I worked hard enough yesterday that we're looking forward to going to work today so we don't have to work so hard...

This will be just a quick dash in, but promise to drop by later. Remember to enjoy the http://www.terminweb.com/weblog/images/smallkk.jpgs. They're a good way to stay away from cloud-cuckoo-land.

Later...

Good Morning!

I just found out something interesting while doing research for my new business. Guess what language (as in country) is not selling, at all, in the homeschool curriculum? Not sure? FRENCH! I just loved that! The second language having a downturn is..... SPANISH! I guess conservative families are just not as concerned about "globalization" as a few months ago! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Well, I guess I should eat something and then it's time to hit the books!

Good Morning All: Partly sunny and warm in NC this morning, but Flower has promised rain and rain it will be - later this afternoon. We certainly need it but you can leave the thunder-buimpers out.

Congratulations to all of our Wyoming friends. Numbers USA is reporting that pressure from constitutients has caused Sen Michael Enzi to retract his support of S-1645(Agjobs Amnesty). Another case of where our writing to our Reps and Senators can have a positive effect.

Finally seeing where the Clintons want Kerry to represent the Dimocratic party because they are sure he cannot beat Bush. Maybe thats the reason the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/broomstick.gif has been so quiet.

Leelanau, thats one of the reasons the French don't like the US - after WWII, English supplanted French as the language of international trade. This was primarily the result of the English speaking Americans, British, Canadians and Australians on occupation duty all over the world and the surge of US manufacturing, supplying the worlds needs.

Have a great day and I'll see you later.

Good morning, All,
I hope you all had a great weekend and that you're even more Republican than ever! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Isn't it "ironic" that Kerry's wife, Teresa, seems to be the exact opposite of him on major issues? Or is that just a ploy they're using for some twisted reason? I would think that by driving a wedge between them politically, the wife-person would give the country the impression that " gee, this man can't even handle his own household...why should we let him take a shot at handling the whole country?" Go Teresa! Go Teresa! Go Teresa! Whhhheeeeeee!

Isn't it also "ironic" that this man Kerry who railed against us horrible Viet Nam Vets as murderers and baby-killers, is so enthusiastic about maintaining the pathetic "right" of American women to get involved in the wholesale, heartless slaughter of the unborn? Hmmmm...sad. This guy is really, really sad.

On a brighter note, it's wonderful to see you all and I wish you all the very best of days! "God is good...all the time. All the time....God is good." Keep smiling and maximize your day!

Good morning all.

Fallujah is still a major pain for our military and a giant political concern. President Bush wants to let the Marines stomp through there but has to weigh the effect tough action will have here and in the Arab world and the effect that weak action will have. I think that strong action is what our people want and what will best serve to show the Arab world that we mean to win in Iraq. Negotiating is a sign of weakness to Arabs. I want to see more tanks and heavy bombing.

Kerry is running from his Vietnam war protesting as best he can but he can’t make himself totally reject his pro communist leaning from his youth(27 years old). No sooner than Kerry clarified that he had thrown away his ribbons ABC turned up a tape from the 70s where he said that he threw away his medals. Too many in the press and on the Republican side give kerry credit for his service as if it out weights the disservice that that his protesting caused.

If she was married to Heinz, a Republican, for 25 years, I would think it would be quite difficult for her to swallow the dem platform. From what little I've read about her, things she has said, etc, I get the idea she's a pretty "independent" gal. Have to go to the dentist this morning so this will be short if not sweet.

Charlie Sykes is talking about Kerry's medals, the ones he kept safely back home when he threw someone else's medals and said they were his. I remember him saying a short while ago that he only threw his ribbons, no medals. That man is such a liar you should be able to walk over Niagara Falls on it. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/pinocchio.gif

Whether he threw his own over the wall is beside the point. The symbolism is what counts anyhow. He has a link on his website that calls it a smear campaign by the Republicans. Kerry is a master at obfuscation. It's the only thing he's good at. I think the reason he threw someone else's medals is so he could use them in the future for his senatorial campaigns. AND display them in his senate office. Liar, liar, yer pants are on fire. Yer nose is as long as a telephone wire. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nahna.gif

Ipara, a normal American served for a year at a time. *If your job was critical, as mine was, you could go right out of tech school to Vietnam and then after a little time back here you would go back for your last year. *A lot of the bomb handlers went to Vietnam for a year and then ended their service in Thailand where most of the Air Force bases were. *Kerry spent four months and got a handful of medals one a sliver star for killing a wounded man in violation of the law. *I spent twenty months in Thailand and earned a Commendation Medal when our bomb bump blew up. *One of our EOD guys earned a Bronze Star for going right up to the bombs that were on fire and looking over the wall to see what was happening. *Just minutes after he looked into the revetment 400 750 pound bombs detonated at once. *The concussion almost knocked me off of my feet two miles away and our table collapsed. *Those EOD guys were insane. *Their job was to disarm damaged munitions. *In Vietnam a man was putting delay fuses in bombs when he dropped on of the fuses but went ahead and screwed it into a bomb. *Then after the bomb was already loaded on to a plane he remembered that the fuse works by acid eating plastic discs that prevent the firing pin from moving. He couldn’t know if the acid vile had broken or not but the EOD had no choice but to try to disarm the bomb before the acid did its thing. *The fuse is designed to come apart if the enemy tries to remove it so to get it out the fuse is frozen with liquid nitrogen and then unscrewed with a rocket powered wench that pulls it away from the bomb so fast that if the fuse fires it will not set off the booster. *We don’t know what went wrong but nine people were killed when the bomb exploded setting fire to the whole flight line. *Fire bombs were stacked behind the planes so all of them went up and the whole thing caused a big mess before they got it under control.

While President Bush is speaking in Minnesota C-SPAN is replaying a couple of anti American events from last week. *One is a Time photojournalist who thinks the most important part of the killing of the four Americans in Fallujah is to show the anger in Fallujah.

A building suspected of having chemical weapons inside explored when our people tried to get inside. *Two dead and more huts.

PS, This is where you can go to make suggestions to President Bush; https://sawho14.eop.gov/PERSdata/intro.htm.

65% of American support our actions in Iraq so I would step up the force in Fallujah.

Had a pretty bad week, but I just loved reading all the past few days comments. Seems my surgery bothered the screws in both broken hips, and also caused th e MS to activate. I was feeling a little sorry for myself, which is not my usual thing, and then I heard about Pat Tillman being killed, and the sacrifices he made for his country. I sat and cried for that young man and hjis family. Then I looked in the mirror, and said to myself,You've got one hell of a nerve feeling so worry for yourself when he, at 27, was willing to give all he had for the sake of our country. Alkl the service people are heroes, but that guy is really special. I feel much better now that I've faced a bit of reality, and am back to who I am.

If I hear another person, especially a republican, heap all that praise on Kerry for what a HERO he was in Nam, I don't know what I'll do. A hero does not betray his buddies and comrades in combat, Quite frankly, I don't believe he actually "won" any medals, and God only knows how he actually got them. He strikes me as such a pathological and accomplished liar, that he has done this all his life, gotten away with it and trulybelieves whatever he does or says is AOK.. That.s his opiion of himself, but I believe in the America People, and everyone is not stupid and if we give him enough rope he will hang himself. PLEASE GOD

Time for a nap[. See "ya later. OUR PRAYERS FOR GOD'S BLEESSINGS ON ALL OUR TROOPS, OUR PRESIDENT AND OUR COUNTRY.

Man is it humid here in central Texas.

CLAIRE, as brave and tough as Pat Tillman was I’ll bet he would rather have faced the terrorists in the frozen mountains of Afghanistan than go through what you have had no choice but to endure.

Kerry got a bronze star for pulling a soldier out of the river, supposedly under fire. Then he got a silver star for killing a wounded Vietcong who had already been shot by a 50 caliber machine gun. He got three purple hearts for scratching himself on the arms and legs. His first wound occurred on a patrol where there was no enemy action on that day. His commander refused to put him in for a medal because there had been no action that day but kerry went to the hospital and got a Band-Aid on his arm so his commander later relented.

I have to finish fixing the brakes on the green Dodge so I’ll see you kids later.

Only One can reach Islam

I was involved with Prison Ministry for nearly 14 yrs. going into the local prison at least once a week and twice some weeks. It all began as the result of our family suffering as the victims of a serious felony. I had given my life to Christ some years before, but had taken it back before this took place. For a year I made every effort to hate the individual with all my being. I thought of nothing else concerning him, but to see him pay with the most difficult of penalties.

But, in time the hate was destroying me. My family was suffering as the result of my hate. One night at the end caring anymore I prayed. For the first time in a couple years I prayed, and one year since this happened.

I knew immediately I would have to forgive the individual and pray for him and his salvation. This took away the hate and the damage all this was doing to me spiritually, physically, emotionally and to our family.

I mention this only because sometimes I could not see how a person could hate another because of the color of an individuals skin, or a different language etc.

I had tried to hate one person for an extended period and the more I tried the more the hate was destroying me.

When our sons were younger one Saturday I was helping with our sons' Boy Scout Troop. We were going to Valley Forge with several other troops. Our son had a close friend all through school who was the son of a radically mixed couple. He was a fine young man well behaved and everything a parent would want in a son. Suddenly out of nowhere a scout from another troop kicked this boy in the worse of spots for a any male.

I grabbed the boy and pulled him off. I said "what is wrong with you, scouts don't do that kind of thing!" He said that kid is a n----r and all n----s are no good. I said that is not true!! This boy said to me, "it is true, my father told me that and my father has never lied to me!" How does one fight this kind of thinking.

In time I met a young man of Arab decent. He told us how he was taught to hate Jews. He learned this with his reading and writing skills, he was taught this from his earliest days, hate Jews. He never knew any, but he was to hate them and hate them he did. Then he came to Christ, that changed everything.

I saw an interview with a man with aids, he said "I am gong to die and I am going to take as many with me as I can." His reasoning comes right out of h----. Satan is going to h- - -. He knows it and he want to take as many with him as he can. These Muslim murders are not worshiping the God and Father of our Lord. They are completely blind to the fact they are following Satan who is leading them and theirs to h----. He too knows where he is headed and is taking as many with him as he can.

We should pray for them and their souls, Christ is the only one who can heal the hatred that consumes man daily.

Praise God you are in Prison Ministry! That is very hard to do and I admire you for it.
Unfortunately Islam is also very active in our nation's prisons. Jose Pedilla, Richard Reid, and many other terrorists were converted to Islam during their incarcerations. Even Mike Tyson embraced Islam in jail. The first thing he did when he got out was bite off Evander Hollifield's ear. Other converts to Islam have demonstrated their faith by throwing grenades into the tents of their comrades in arms, and selling secrets to Al Qaeda. This is not something they have been indoctrinated in from birth along with reading and writing. This is something they have become recently in the name of providing religious freedom to prisoners. When you go into the prisons, your goal is to lead souls to Christ and give the prisoners salvation and comfort. Islam seeks converts in the prisons to provide themselves with new soldiers in the Jihad. Soldiers who do not look arabic and who can infiltrate our society to destroy it. It will be very difficult to stem this tide of terror by singling out Islam in prison ministry without affecting other religions as well (including ours!). What can be done? Do you have any ideas?
God Bless Pres Bush

God Bless America!

Yes sometimes Muslims would show up at our Bible Studies in the Prison. I was not prepared to give up the valuable time God had given us to try to convince some one who was there as Christ stated it so nicely in John 10:10 " *The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy".

I knew Muslims followed the Old Test. to some degree. I would say to them, "I believe you believe in the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob." They always said "YES". Then I said to them, "then pray to God and ask HIM to reveal the truth of Christ to you." If you believe and follow the God of * Abraham Issac and Jacob you must believe HE will reveal the truth to you and so expect it and receive it."

That was always the last time I would see them.

Mary Lou, what you need to do is study your (HIS) Bible. Ask God to open your heart and your head to receive and understand His truth. The Word of God is what Christ used to rebuke sin, Satan and the Pharisees. Living life without your Bible is like building one of those old sailing boat schooner models together without the instructions. You're lost before you start as we are without HIM and His instructions.

Christ said Satan can appear as a angel of light. Not all the saints look like Mel Gibson or all sinners like Paul who said "I am the worse of sinners".

The Bible said our God doesn't look at ones outward appearance He looks at what is in a persons heart. Fortunately for me my wife read that verse or I might still be single sinner.

I'm puzzled by your advice to me. I was talking about Muslim converts in the prison system. When you challenge the Muslims in your Bible study, that's a good thing, but if they don't return, to what do you attribute that? I don't hate people who have embraced the Muslim religion, but there is a radical element that is going after the same folks you are ministering to. I know you work in a very tough environment, so I will try not to be hurt by your remarks questioning my salvation or commitment to Our Lord and Savior. May God continue to bless you ministry.

Dutchman, was that one of your essays? You can get more indepth replies to them out in the forum. That one looks like it will provoke some good indepth discussion.

The Precinct is a daily thread for lighter chit chat. Once in awhile you'll see one of us get a little carried away and remind ourselves where our rants should go. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Charie, keep after GR about his wife's finger. I love seeing him say he hit it with a hammer! He should never live that down. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

Dave, I'm glad to see you're posting government owned graphics now. I love public domain. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Laurie, you swiped my PA question for tomorrow. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif S'ok. I'll ask it anyway and give you credit for it.

Dear Mary Lou,

I am sorry I did come off sounding too preachy. I have my character defects and He is still working on me and my ruff edges.Mary Lou I use to tell the inmates how God can form us as with soft clay into His image. That is one way of sculpturing one into HIS own image. But, there is another way of sculpturing one into a His image. It is with a hammer and chisel and taking a wack off here and there. I assured them that is how HE is forming both me and some of them. It may hurt at times, but then you don't forget the lessons.

If the Muslims didn't return I am guessing they either had not prayed or would not accept the answer God had given them.

I dont hate them either Mary Lou. John states "that God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that who ever believes in him shall not perish." He did not send his son to condemn the world but to save the world through his son."
God sent his Son to save the whole world, no matter your color, language, etc.

I am one who would never have gotten to heaven any other way except through His Son.

Again I am sorry for my offensive manner. I did come off strongly. In prison sometimes it was all they seem to understand. It is how He has deat with me too, strongly.

Please forgive this old sinner and thank you for reminding me of minding myself,

God bless and keep you

Popped in again for a sec http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/pop.gif . Pa. Dutchman, glad you are strong enough of faith to forgive even the worst offense to you and your family. Like RIM said, I am not sure I could ever forgive someone who seriously harmed my family, much less be put in a mood to do so from working in Prison Ministry. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Thanks for your understanding! I always try to get more info before getting offended. I guess that even getting rubbed the wrong way will produce a polish!
I also understand that when you deal with tough guys day in and day out it it can make you a little tough too.
Different things work for different people when sharing the Gospel. As Paul so well put it (paraphrase) To the Greeks I became as a Greek, to those under the Law, I became as one under the Law, so that by being all things to all men I might convert some. (I don't have my Bible with me right now, so this is just from memory) Anyway, it takes a tough man to do what you do! Keep up the good work
God Bless America

It was just so none of you would become addicted to sedatives. I can't think of a person I know who would become addicted to a http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif in the head. Wellllll............ ..........maybe one.

Mary-Lou, that was a good article in WorldNet. I had read part of those listed items some time ago, maybe in WorldNet then. Some seem to be putting David Kay in the same category as Hans Blix. I don't. I thought he was an honest man who told things exactly as he saw them. Apparently these containers of fertilizer didn't reach the definition of "chemical weapons stockpile" and it always seemed to me he was trying to say more, but that's all the news media were interested in. BTW, did he write a book or has anyone heard if he is? I'd be interested to read it if he has or is going to.

Hi Pa. Good to see you here. Prison ministry is rough. There was a questionnaire for those of us in a bible class a few years ago and one of the questions was: Which of these categories would you choose if you were to do mission work? One of the categories was "prison ministry". I checked off two of the boxes out of about 5. "Prison ministry" wasn't one of them, but one of the sweet little ladies had checked only that box. She thought it was one of the areas that most needed ministry and thought she'd like to do that. A friend of mine used to be head prison nurse and she's told me enough stories that I don't ever want to go to a prison. God bless you for your dedication.

Quote[/b] ]How does one fight this kind of thinking

You answered your own question when you later mentioned how we need to pray for even our enemies, as Jesus has taught us. *Not that I have succeeded in pulling that plank out my eye just yet.

your story reminded me of a conversation I overheard when my younger brother, at age 9 *(now age 40) and his friend were reading the Bible one day and I overheard his friend explaining to my brother that the Bible said the races had to be kept separate and some other racist type malarkey. *I went in to see what he was reading and explained that we didn't allow that kind of talk in our home that last I heard Jesus accepted and loved each and every one of us even his enemies, etc. . .

This type of hate is taught not inherent, because we were made in His image. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif

Luke 6:27"

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

As for forgiving those who sin against us and praying for them it was not something I came up with on my own. We are commanded to do this. Nor is it something I could do on my own. It is through our LORD we find the ability to do this. * *

Matthew 6:9-15
His disciples asked Him "How should we pray?'' Then He taught them the Lords prayer.

Now at the end of the Lords prayer He clearly states unless we forgive those who have sinned again us He will not forgive us. *

Some of the inmates had grudges with other inmates etc. When I had them pray for these folks who they held responsible for wrongs and they did not want to, I went over this verse with them. I let them know that some of them had victims praying for them their persecutors, and they should pray for those who wronged them. *

"This, then, is how you should pray:
* " 'Our Father in heaven,
* hallowed be your name,
* *10your kingdom come,
* your will be done
* * * on earth as it is in heaven.
* *11Give us today our daily bread.
* *12Forgive us our debts,
* * * as we also have forgiven our debtors.
* *13And lead us not into temptation,
* but deliver us from the evil one.[1] '

As we see here it does not ask or make a suggestion that we forgive those who singed against us HE commands us. But, He knows it is not an easy thing to do but it is a right thing. We can and should pray to Him for help in doing this. Christ said to His Father, "Father forgive them they know not what they do" as Christ forgives us who have sinned against Him and His Father we too must pray for those who have sinned against us.
* *

14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

And may you forgive me whom I have offended,
