The reports from Israel are now saying 19/20 killed and more than 40 injured. I'm amazed at the restraint of the Israelis. It was rush hour and the bus was filled with high school students and those on their way to work. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

It feels like the bottom of the BBQ pit here today with lots and lots of smoke. The situation is about the same as last night. More areas have been added to the evacuation watch list which means they could be out by this afternoon. The fire has totally broken the southeast containment and is flaring again to the north. The wind may shift later today which would blow it back on itself. That's the main hope right now.

Good Morning All: Its kind of a depressing day - I turn the news on and the first thing I see was the firefighting plane crash, next was the bombing in Israel, then I turn to the forum to find some good words and all I see is Turner, Clinton and/or other bad news. Maybe the day will get better - God, I hope so.

Just read an article where NY taxpayers had to pay 6 million dollars last year to help poor people buy Viagra. Thats more than double the 2.9 million they shelled out the year before. It said the Medicaid patients are limited to 6 pills per month. Looks like the country is going to hell in a handbasket.

I agree with Ted Turner yes I do 110%. The people of Israel are also terrorist
1. They refuse to recognize the Mitchell Plan.
2. They have and continue to violate United Nations Orders
3.They will not move back to borders before the October
War
4. They have attacked the sovereignty of the Palestine Liberalization organization
5. They continue to build settlements on Palestine Terrorty
6. The refuse to all Palestine’s to use the water rights given to them by the UN
7 They continue to refuse to sit down and work on peace

I am not saying that the PLO is right or they it does not commit acts of violence against the people they are taking there land. However the people and militants under the terror realm of Sharon are no better then those people under the terror of Bin Laden or that of Halmas.

I believe like Turner that if the Palestine state is created and Israel stays out of the Palestine’s right property than the acts of violence will end and maybe all evil doers will be caught and given there punishment.

There are at least three groups of evil doers that we ask Americans should hate and fear Al-Quada, Halmas, The Israel militants under Sharon.

I am sadden that more people don’t wake up and see this. The hate they you feel for the Palestine’s is because partly of the liberal media. Truth they should not be killing innocent people on their way to work. However few people in the United States gave a dam when this activity was happening in North Ireland. Therefore the United States needs to stop giving Israel weapons and money recognizes the Palestine state and start trade with the state of Palestine. Maybe Palestine state could become are newest allied on the war of terror. Don’t you think the Palestine’s want peace, but in order to have peace they must have their state because under UN LAW it belongs to them.

There is no excuse for the Palestinians or Arafat, and anyone who agrees with what they are doing, or any word of what Ted Turner has said, is not only potentially an Arab (as suggested by Saber and agreed with by me) but I seriously doubt that they are a conservative. Enough said, but trust me, I could definitely go on.

Now, one tiny bit of fact in a post doesn't make an entirely poor, fictitious post any better. However, neither does someone that agrees with that tiny portion mean that they agree with all of it, it just means they have strong feelings about that side issue, which really had not a whole to do with the subject of the post. Ok, now on a more serious note, a word of harsh disagreement with our president. I am a strong Bush supporter as you all know, even trying not to second guess him when he is obviously taking the &quot;less conservative&quot; road lately on a lot of issues. However, what he definitely needs to stop doing is any forward movement towards creation of a Palestinian state. IMO, he needs to immediately condemn the Palestinians and Arafat, once and for all, and summarily denounce their cause to the world. Then, let the chips fall where they may in the Arab world. Any compromise with Palestinian terrorists, with Arafat or not, will show him to be seriously hypocritical, as he moves closer and closer to cutting off all contact, negotiation, etc. with Saddam Hussein and Iraq. How in the world are the Palestinians any different, except for being many, many times worse!?!?!

Regarding Carter going to Venezuela, they need to send him one-way this time. He was so extremely effective in rallying the Cubans to our cause that the largest anti-American march that has been held in Havana in years followed within a week of his visit. So, here is today's first reading, from Dueteronomy 13:1-5

The second reading is from Matthew 24:4-14

Here ends the readings.

OK, so what are these two passages saying? *They are saying that when people come prediciting things that will happen, and they do happen, and then these people tell you to turn away from God, to stand firm! *We are not to follow these false prophets. *In fact, the first reading tells us we are to put these false prophets to death for telling us to forsake God and follow other gods.
But what are other gods? *Are they actual deities up in a heavenly realm that parallels the Judeo-Christian Heaven? *Are they spirits? *Well, maybe. *Some people may still worship Ra, Mut, Nut, Ptah, and all those other gods the Egyptians were so obedient to during the time of Moses. *However, in our society, those other gods include material things, too. *Money is good, but when we worship money, or put it above God, we are not doing as commanded of us.
The same can be said of cars, computers, televisions, books (other than the Bible), and anytyhing on this earth. *When we idolize something so much that we place it as more important in our lives that the Lord our God, we follow the way of the false prophets.
Psalm 49:5 says &quot;Why should I come when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me . .&quot; *As long as we hold fast to God, and stand firm and unwavering in our conviction, there is nothing to fear. *Today we have many wars and rumors of wars. *It is enough to scare most people witless. *They will seek immediate comfort. *But in doing so, they will place immediate security above the ultimate security of God. *But those of us who hold fast, who stay with God despite the persecution and wickedness, will be the only ones with true security.

So, how does this tie in with today's political scene? *Simple. *We have many politicians who try to tell us to trust them, that they will secure our borders and make life safer for all, so long as we follow them. *Well, as long as they follow God, then yes, we can follow them (since we will also be following God). *But there are many who want to turn us away from God. *They are the people who tell us not to display the ten commandments publicly. *They sue us if we declare publicly we believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
That is persecution. *That is wickedness. *Do not follow these people who seek to do away with God. *In the end, they will not be left, but those who hold fast to the eternal Father will always have life.

As for not recognizing a sovereign Palestinian anything, so what? *Palestine is not a state. *Palestine is a terrorist organization run by the head of all middle-eastern terrorists (and notice, I do not mean all middle-easterners are terrorists), Yassir Arafat.
A caller to Fox News this morning said she had lived over there. *Most plaestinians, she said, are living in mansions, not refugee camps. *She said they're not in shambles as they would have us believe. *They don't want peace, they want the elimination of Israel.
Being the Christian I am, I must support Israel. *That is God's chosen country. *That is the most holy of any country. *To support their opposition is, to me, to support the opposition of God himself.

First of all, let me make clear that both the USA and Israel are sovereign nations. We are not controlled by the United Nations, we do not submit to one world views, we make our own decisions for our own people and I can only pray it will always be so. Many of us feel that we should not even belong to the UN. So Mark, when you use UN decisions to back up your arguments you have lost most genuine conservatives right there.

IMHO, there is NO defensible reason for anyone to defend Arafat or his murderous henchmen or to equate Israel, which is a nation much like us, with what is commonly known as Palestine. I can only wonder at anyone who identifies with a people who raise their own children to die in order to kill a hated rival. These are not human values and those who defend them have something to answer for too.

In spite of the popular liberal propaganda Palestine does not in fact exist and never has. They have no legitimate claim to any land and I would never expect Israel to try to make peace with such a neighbor anymore than I expect us to make peace with Bin Laden.

I don't believe that college intelligence is needed in fact I fell a lot of college-educated people very stupid and could not solve a simple math problem. I went to college and law school I am proud of that. However I admit that there are a lot or people smarter than I am that did not go to college for example my grandfather grhs was a lot smarted than I will ever be he did not go to college.

Well, I am truly saddened at the mess in Israel. I was over at a friends house, and we were watching the news, and the bit about the homocide bombing came on. My friend is from Egypt, but is now an American. She and her mom were expressing their side - they vehemently believe the Palestinian lies about how &quot;Israel is commiting terrorist acts against Palestine&quot;. I don't see how this will ever be settled unless the truth comes out. Angelus - I'm not as well versed on Revelations as I should be, but isn't this a part of what will come in the end times?
