Seems they took a poll on the environment in California and thirty-nine percent of Californians said they approve of the way the president is handling the environment, compared to 35 percent for Davis. I saw a pic of a house near Show Low that had escaped being damaged although it was surrounded by fire - I love to see miracles! We need to keep praying for this situation,though.

Today is going to be busy - house cleaning, cut the grass, change the linens, take care of the dogs and go see the wife. Already done the first load of laundry and scrubbed the kitchen floor.

REMINDER!! *For the third time in 18 months, the cost of a stamp will go up again starting tomorrow!! *This time it's THREE cents....34 to 37 cents! *They'll still probably end up losing more money as more people turn to e-mail.

We're going to a big charity shindig (black tie and sequin) tonight. *Lot's of FABULOUS auction stuff (Hawaii, Acapulco, etc. vacations) *It's being held at Navy Pier in downtown ChiTown. *As an added benefit....Chicago holds fireworks on Saturday nights all through the summer out over the lake which are spectacular! *The benefit is for a large local hospital for contribution to ovarian cancer research. *It holds special meaning to us since my hubby's sister died at 41 from this horrible, dreaded disease.

All the fires in Colorado are in much better shape although the one down near Durango is still threatening homes.

Hayman, our local one is 90% contained, still burning in the wilderness area. As of this morning all evacuations are lifted. The worry now is about flash flooding. We are entering the time of summer that we call monsoon season when we get a lot of moisture coming up from the Gulf. It typically results in violent storms. Good Afternoon. Grass cut, linens changed, laundry finished - guess I'll quit while I'm ahead. Also went to the hospital and the therapist had the wife sitting in a chair, exercising her legs and arms. She helped feed herself at lunch. Lookin good. I have found several handicapped vans but they are all located a long ways from here. I have also found a company here in NC that has new and used vans and also does the conversion - I already have a Chev Astro van and it may be a lot cheaper to get a lift and wheelchair tie downs installed.

I'm working on quite a bit of things for our church and that is taking a lot of time. *Every Saturday night I do the bulletin, and it's the end of the month, so a new nursery schedule . . . there are always many things to get done! *I'm also working on a booklet we are going to have for all our church members. *Plus, we are having a fellowship after our evening service tomorrow night and I'm brainstorming to find something &quot;good,&quot; &quot;easy,&quot; and &quot;different.&quot; * We always have an abundance of food and there are only about 35 of us. *It's like the feeding of the 5,000. *The food just keeps multiplying! *We have one every month and we all love it~~where is THAT exercise bike? *
