Good Morning http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif Terri & GOPUSA!
Well, today I'll find out how we made out with our audit. I don't know why I should worry ~ I can retire if I want to. :b Actually, I'll be very surprised if we don't come out pretty well.
Bought a new rose bush yesterday ~ I've got "spring fever" really bad. :1luvu: The rose is called a "Don Juan Climbing" rose and actually smells like a rose. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif
I'm trying to NOT think of the world situation this morning. It just gets more and more convoluted. Everyone has an agenda ~ and no one is on the same page ~ or even close. Like the song goes "spinning wheels, go round and round". So for this morning I'm going to think roses. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_rose.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_rose.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_rose.gif
Have a great day all!

Morning all. I've been staying away for a few days, but thought I'd check in today. I'm home sick (started getting dizzy yesterday), so I'm enjoying the beautiful weather. Hope you all are well.
I'm off to check the threads.

Hi Gang! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sunflower.gif
RIM, no doubt you did just fine with the audit. After all, you're the one keeping the books and I would have absolute faith in you. Roses sound great. My bushes even have tiny little leaves but it will be a very long time till we see a rose.
SueElise! There you are. I was thinking of search parties to look for you. You weren't sounding too happy when last we heard. I'm glad you're back. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
SOS Powell is reporting some progress in his negotiations. I'm not sure what that may mean.
Actor Robert Urich has died from cancer. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
And there is a brand new newspaper today. It's called the New York Sun and it's a conservative paper. Imagine that! A new conservative paper in NYC. Maybe there is hope. :o

Hi Terri. I have to admit, something someone said at another forum really insulted me. It's silly to let it keep me away, though, so I'm back.

SueElise, that's one of the unfortunate limitations of the internet. It's so hard to know the exact intent of the written word when you can't see the expression, the body language, or hear the tone of voice of the person who wrote the message. The little smilie icons are so useful to add intent.
Anyway, I'm glad to see you back. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Oh that is sad about Robert Urich. *He seemed to be a very nice person. *He also was mostly in family type movies and shows wasn't he? (at least that is all we ever saw him in). *He will be missed. *
Everything in NC is blooming and there is about 2 tons of pollen on our cars, streets, sidewalks, EVERYWHERE! *Can't even open the windows and enjoy the "fresh" air. *The good news is it will end one day! *It is so much fun to see the little sprouts popping up out of the ground one day and full blown the next! *Gardening used to be non-existent with me--then I found out about perennials! *I love it now! *And I even read before I buy--used to just look at the plant and say I like it!--now--I plant where it says to plant--shade, part shade etc. *
Terri and SueElise--so true about written word--I am a yankee married to a southerner and I have learned (I hope) to be a little more careful of what I say (write). *Hope I never offend anyone (except libs)! *Hope everyone has a nice day!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif

Good Morning Everyone from Canada!
It's such a beautiful day here today. I have all my windows open and I sure wish I could get the rake going but my shoulder isn't ready for any of that just yet! :o
It's good to see you back SueElise and sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. No, don't let what others say bother you too much. Been there, done that! LOL
lpara, what a lovely message to read that you posted last evening. It does sound as if you are a very busy lady. My daughter also home schooled her children for five years and this year she's realized that she's very tired and is going to send them to a Christian school in the area where they now live. She's needing a break from a very busy year.

Well guys - it's still a beautiful day! The pollen count is very high, however, which I think accounts for my dizziness. I've just spent an hour dealing with my health insurance! What a nightmare.
Aberfoyle - it's good to be back. I'm learning to be a little more thick skinned. It's pretty important, especially when I have students who say they hate me!

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif Good Morning everyone (hope it still is back there):)
Sunny and ....er....well sunny this morning and just a wee bit nippy at about 25 degrees....But! we've only got about a foot of snow left....The geese are on their way north and should show up any day now. That is always a big day here in Fairbanks.

lpara, I've watched so little entertainment tv or movies in the last many years that I feel out of touch on who some actors are.
I feel for all of you with pollen problems but at least it's greening up. Things are starting here. Our Crabapple tree is just loaded with buds. We aren't going to have much on our early flowering bushes this year because my husband cut them back so severely last fall. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
But the Lilacs will be along eventually if we don't have another hard freeze.
Aberfoyle, don't you dare pick up that rake and undo all the hard work that you've put into getting that shoulder fixed up!
Aknauta, hang in there. Spring is coming. There was a heron on the pond when I passed it this morning. It's been beautiful here the last few days. It was 80 degrees yesterday. Today something is coming over the mountains. It's snowing up there with the chain law in effect on the high passes. Springtime in the Rockies! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Terri--I didn't know it could be warm in Colorado at this time of year. *When we went in July the mornings and evenings were very cool, but the days were hot and we were burnt to a crisp--literally my legs from the tops of my socks to the bottom of my knee (I admit I hiked up my skirt just a little) BLISTERED http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tearhair.gif. *It just didn't feel that hot. *My favorite greenery in Colorado was the Aspen tree. *The leaves looked like they were always twinkling. *I brought home a little snip and put it in our scrapbook. *I wanted to get one, but they are only good for cooler climates. *When we installed our educational satellite (it has 3 channels of classes only) we discontinued everything else. *No cable for the past 2 years, but we do plug in the rabbit ears when something major happens--like 9-11 and the elections. *Can't see much, but the sound is o.k. ususally. *We also do watch videos on the weekend nights that friends tape for us. *We're fine without "Hollow-wood." * Sometimes, I wish I had that fox news channel tho. *Robert Urich did seem like a good guy. *He was married to the same woman for a long time and he did Spencer for Hire which was done maybe in the 80's. *That's about all I know. *

There are a couple of new discussions in the Congress section of our Political forum. One concerns making the tax cut permanent and the other is about the proposed Victim's Rights amendment to the Constitution. I'd really like to know what you all think on these subjects.
lpara, it's warmer here now than it usually is in April but we have warm days anytime of the year. We are just where the prairie meets the mountains at about 6000-7000 ft. elevation. Yes, you do get sunburned much more quickly here. The atmosphere is thin and the sun is very intense. The Aspens are beautiful. The leaves are similar to Poplars.
We do have cable and mostly watch News or sports, very little of anything else.
