Good Morning http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sunflower.gif *Terri & GOPUSA!

Didn't think I'd make it back here after clicking on the link you provided for "Link Of The Day". http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif * Terri, that site is absolutely awesome. *What dedication and work went into provding such wonderful and historical information. *It will be at the top of my "bookmark" list. *I can hardly wait to return and read more. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif

Well, it looks like Bill won't be hosting his own TV "debacle" any time soon. *But he did get his fifteen minutes of adulation from the "all Clinton all the time" worshipers. :turquoiserolleyes:

I was reading in my NYTimes daily email about the "pipe bomb" terrorists. :o *A little anthrax here and a pipe bomb there ~ what next? *And I find it a tad less than amusing that the government is building or has already built "internment camps" ~ for what, dare we ask? *This may be a "tin foil" response, but there is a sure a lot of "stuff" going on in this country to be concerned about. *And while we are pre-occupied with our day to day living and saturated with media controlled extaneous drivel, the nefarious are busy as bees plotting and planning for us. *Most of the plans have sent us down the "garden path" so far we'll need more than bread crumbs to find our way back.

Ahhh! but it is the blessed weekend and I'm free, free, free ~ PTLAPTA. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif And I plan to enjoy every last minute of it. *(That is till it reaches 100 degrees again and then it's nap time and full blast AC). http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *And of course there is always housework to be done (which requires a telephone line and a computer - har! har!)

Have a great day all!

Good Morn Everyone.

Wel, I never made it out to the homestead yesterday but I will be leaving in a few min. I just had to check in.

OK here we go folks...Post 3 ...Rant 1

I was watching O'Rielly yesterday and the regulators are at it again...or at least trying to.

Remember the Supreme Court decision last week on child porn?? *Well, I only caught the tail end of what was going on but enough of it to know what was going on.

There was a Congressmen or Senator being interviewed who is trying to make a name for himself by rewritting an existing law in order to stop child porn which is not child porn.

The laws were created to protect the children not to prosecute consenting adults who wish to view porn with the exception of child porn.....because it is done WITH CHILDREN

Now this bozo wants to rewrite the law to contain anything that may look like child porn even though it is created with consenting adults.

Excuse me but is wrong wiith this picture!!!!

Don't get me wrong. I am not advocating child porn. I am advocating the right to print this s**t as granteed by the Bill of Rights.

So what it all comes down to AGAIN is some jerk who doesn't like something and will do everything he can to make sure that you live your life the way he thinks you should even if it violates your rights under the BIll of Rights.

GEEZ!! Why doesn't he burn a few book while he is at it. He can start with Mother Goose.

Morning all! I realize I've been MIA all week, but it's been pretty busy. I've had some good days, and some bad days. Some of my worst kids are now in special classes, so my classes are going much more smoothly. Still a handful, but more manageable. Some of my really slow kids are starting to catch on in math, too. Less than 6 weeks to go, then a short break. Yeah!

I have to be honest - I've missed out on a lot of news this week, so I'm off to see what's up.

Hi RIM! Glad you liked that site. It is a good one. You know, I'm not so sure that Bill won't do something in television although I don't think it will be a "Rosie" show. Just think what a weapon he could be talking to the Sheeple for the Dems. You sound really ready for retirement to me. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/boots.gif

Hi JA! I didn't see O'Reilley last night because I had a grandchild here. I don't know who was on his show but AG Ashcroft has announced the law is being rewritten. Arguments of free speech won't sway me here. You see, I've actually known children who's lives have been altered forever by one of these monsters. Enjoy your trip to the lake, Janice Ann. I'll post an article on this subject and have more to say there so that we can continue discussing it when you return if you like. I am glad to hear that you were watching O'Reilley.

SueElise! There you are. Our state got CSAP results yesterday with mixed results. I'm sure our teachers are counting down too. It's only about 3 weeks to go here. How long is it till your last day?

SueElise
05-04-2002, 09:19 AM
I think it's about 5 1/2 weeks. We finish mid June, later than most school districts, because we start later. Schools are not allowed, by law in the state of VA, to start before Labor Day because of the beach tourism industry!

Terri
05-04-2002, 09:32 AM
That's interesting, SueElise. We have a wide range of starting dates here. Our district is one of the earliest in and out. They want to wind up first semester before the Christmas break.

Here is a link to our discussion on the new child porn prevention law.

Hi Everyone...

What a simply gorgeous day it is here! I wasted part of it by sleeping in! Now I've got lots to do.

Interesting to read about your starting days and ending days of school. School here always starts the day after Labour Day and it goes right to the bitter end of June. There's talk about it being about a week before the end of June but it's not yet.

I heard on the news that LePen is predicting electoral fraud across France in tomorrow's vote. Sounds to me as if he's admitting defeat!

I'm going to go back now and have a look at the link for today, Terri.

Talk to you all later...

Good morning everyone http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif

Hi Terri, Freedom of speech is most important. I agree with JA because we can't make laws to stop all the sick in our society without those same laws being utilized to take our reading rights away too. Prosecute those who tresspass but allow freedom. It's messy, I agree, but necessary.

Hi SueAlise, have you tried a BIG STICK?
RIM, the press spreads the work of the sick and twisted but not news of the millions of good and kind people. Sells more product this way, so actually the world is just normal this morning. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Good Morning, Aberfoyle! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sunflower.gif
This election in France is really interesting isn't it? It's pretty interesting to watch the reactions over there.

Sailor, I hate when that happens but I'm glad everything is still right with the world.

Aknauta, debate is a good thing. I freely admit that after many years in public education and a horrific incident in my extended family, I am not neutral on child porn. In fact, I move directly to wanting to solve the problem with instant justice. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twocents.gif

I should also say that I realize no one here is for it. I just can't look at it from a freedom of speech point of view.

Good Morning Aberfoyle http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif

OK, I can understand how you feel Terri. I probably would feel the same. Outrageous criminal acts have a way of polarizing the issue. Life can be hard sometimes, mean, violent and savage. Perhaps that is one reason why nations slowly disintegrate, people, over time, are more willing to throw their dog to the wolves than to grit their teeth and uphold original founding principles.

Terri

Oh, Aknauta!! That is cold!! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/red_eyes.gif *We really have to get into the nitty gritty of the free speech issue and I hope everyone will join in. A good starting place would be the article I posted in News on this very subject.

Terri,
DON'T forget that I'm talking about the pictures created by drawing, NOT the act by real humans. We must be clear about this. The Court rejected banning disgusting drawings on the basis of free speech. Obviously I am not standing on the idea of child pornography.
Also, your husband has a great idea. That fur is worth considerable bucks and you only have to shear them once a year. They are adorable, cute, cuddly creatures. Think of them as really really big doggies. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif AND, most importantly, they can be house trained. You can use them like big bean bag chairs when they lay around the living room. You'll love em. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif

Terri

Good afternoon all!

Alpacas! *:1luvu: *We have several Alpaca ranches right here in Florida. *I went to their website (http://www.aoba.org/) several months ago after seeing an advertisement on TV. *My hubby said, "don't get any ideas." http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *They are so cute.

Is this a face, or what? Click here to see! *http://www.aoba.org/menu/maglink.jpg

There is a lot of interesting information at their website. *Everyone should have an Alpaca. :1luvu:

I've just posted a response to Terri's article on kiddie porn in the News and Current Events forum. *I was going to say something here, but it got way to long. *I feel very passionate about this deplorable situation. :turquoiserolleyes:

Sue E ~ school is out here on the 24th. *I can remember when it used to go until mid June. *It seems that every state/county has it's own time schedule. *I can remember that 180 days a year was mandatory. *

Another hot day ~ but so far it's only 96 degrees. :o *Nap time! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
