Oklahoma candidate needs help against the Dem. machine

* * * * *My name is Wayland Smalley and I am running for the United States House of Representatives from Oklahoma’s Second Congressional District.
* * * * *My Oklahoma roots run deep. *They run from the home of Will Rogers to my grandpa Cox’s store on highway 60, and from my great grandpa Reiter’s buckboard to my grandma Helen, who spent her career as the dietitian at Eastern State.
* * * * *I am 40 years old and my wife, Marci, has been working on refining me, but I confess, I am still a bit rough. *We have been operating a commercial horse breeding farm in the Foil Hills. Marci and I do not have any children, but we have been blessed with many animals.
* * * * *I am not a professional politician who is only interested in reelection and my “war chest” for reelection. *I am a principled problem solver. *I have strong beliefs and will not compromise my values.
* * * * *I believe in God. *I believe in life and family. *I will be an advocate for the people of Oklahoma and the United States in all areas of agriculture, energy and the environment. *I want our children to be able to read. *I believe the tax man takes too much of our hard earned money. *I demand a strong national defense which includes taking care of the men and women that do our fighting, long after the fighting is done. I want you to be able to keep your guns. *I am sick over the games that are being played with the future of our children’s Social Security and our Grandparent’s Medicare. *I think the “lawsuit lottery” mentality is undermining all aspects of American Society.
* * * * *It is my intention to shrink the size of the government and to replace our freedoms. *I will consider it my job to do away with old laws that assault our Constitution or fail to do what they were intended to do when they were passed, and rid the books of laws that cost the American people more than those laws are worth. *What I will not do is introduce or advocate laws that are simply jingoistic catch phrases or slogans. *It will not be my job to bring home a few scraps of pork. *Thomas Jefferson said, “That government is best which governs least”, and in that spirit I will strive to keep our money from going to Washington in the first place.
* * * * *As a constituency and a congressman we will never agree on everything. *If we do we should probably be married because even Marci and I can’t agree on everything. *Now that you know where I stand, please rest assured that I am a man of principle and would never compromise in the pursuit of our liberty or the defense of our rights.
