So what do you have planned for this fine Saturday morning?

It's been another tough week for news. Things have got to get better one of these days. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/red_eyes.gif

Do we have any sports fans here? It's time for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Avalanche won their first game and play again this afternoon. Roy rocks and we've got Forsberg back!!

Good morning Terri & GOPUSA!

I'll be really busy for the next couple of days, getting ready for my trip. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif *Today is "hair day" http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tearhair.gif *and shopping for travel stuff. *Then I have to get things in some kind of order at home so Mr. RIM can survive without me for three days ~ http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif *Actually, he is very self sufficient ~ I just make him think he needs me. :1luvu:

Aberfoyle ~ thanks for the "good wishes" on my vacation and maybe when I get back I'll finish that flag. *I'm so glad that you have told us how you feel about things ~ that's what real friends are for. *We may not be able to change what has happened, but hopefully we have learned from our mistakes. *And as the saying goes "this too shall pass".

Oh, and Terri, it was Tancredo. *He was very impressive. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif *

Have a great day all! *I'll try to pop in later ~ if time permits.

RIM, I know you are going to enjoy this week off. Even time spent at home without having to go to work is really great. I remember so well. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif It's hair day here too.

There's been a 5.1 earthquake in the northeast. *Anyone get rattled out of bed this morning?

The Kansas Legislature passed a bill to allow a License Plate with the slogan "Choose Life". Governor Bill Graves has vetoed this bill.

Latest poll figures indicate that 62% of Americans believe Arafat is a terrorist. This is scary. What's wrong with the other 38%?

Hi guys. Hope you all are doing well. I've been awol for a few days - school is busy and my vertigo is active again. There's only a few weeks left, though.

I don't know if you all saw it, but there was an article on drudge about a letter Natalie Portman wrote to Harvard's student newspaper. Very interesting.

mohnight! Welcome to http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif! *I see you've posted in Campaigns. Way to go!

Hi SueElise, I've wondered where you were this week. Sorry to hear about the vertigo. I didn't see the piece on Drudge. Don't suppose you have a link.

Wet and cold here this morning. Oh well, guess the sun can't shine every day. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sunflower.gif

Good morning everyone http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif

Another grey day with below freezing weather....snow flakes falling....:mr_yuk:

However the sun is now rising at 5:58 AM and setting at 9:42 PM for a total of 15 hrs and 44 minutes of sunlight; on the way to nearly 22 hours of sunlight in July! Gardens REALLY grow with all that light! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif

Welcome mohknight!

Great to see you SueElise. Not much longer now till school ends! Wow! Seems like only yesterday that school started!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Looking forward to seeing that flag finished, RIM! But enjoy your time away from work.

Sorry you're having below freezing temperatures Aknauta. Here in Ontario, it's a beautiful sunny day! The daffodils are blooming and spring has finally arrived.

Regarding the earth quake, Terri...you and I both know Ardie on another board we frequent. Well, the centre of the quake was right where her sister lives and this sister's daughter next door had ceiling buckled and floor cracked and a whole lot of damage.

I watched our boys come back to Canada this morning. It was quite moving and sad.

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif *It's very quiet in here. All of you must have been out doing things too. I'm glad to be home cause it's drizzling rain and really cold outside. Brrrr.....

But at least we don't have snowflakes, Aknauta! Not yet anyway.

Sue Elise, I read the letter. I'm surprised that Harvard published it.

Aberfoyle, I haven't seen coverage of the Canadian casualties returning home as yet, but then I've been out. It is so very sad to see flag covered coffins come home. We know the feeling so well. The US has seen so very, very many of them so many times, but it never gets easier. Each loss means as much as the first. I understand that these are Canada's first casualties since the Korean War. Is that correct? *

I'm glad the earthquake back there wasn't worse. I'm not sure how large an area it covered.

Off to catch up on the news, make dinner, etc.

Aknauta--it has been sooooooo hot here in NC I kind of wish it were snowing here! *April is just too early to have to turn on the AC! *I tried to wait it out as long as I could; but my husband noticed it was 85 in the house the other day--rats--we've had the air on for 3 days now--hello-power bill! *Only 7 more months of this! *rats again

I read part of cool:cool: artile on President Bush on bushcountry that he received some training from the Secret Service on how to get out of sticky situations in the car--nice car--camaro--I wish I could see him driving around doing 180's. My "boys" would love to see that! *gotta get ready for tomorrow--lots of ironing to do!

Good evening, everyone.
Aknauta, I saw the caskets arriving this morning. It always breaks my heart.

I went to a candidates' forum held in a retirement community north of Tucson. I've been working for one of the AG candidates, so I was there helping him.
The AZ primary isn't until September 10, so this will go on forever ... oh, well.

Had a nice evening here. My daughters were over and we went through a box of my mothers photos. Lots of memories. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

lpara, there's a cold front moving east. I don't know how much it will have left by the time it gets there though. I read about the President's training too. It sounded like he had some fun with it.

Donna, it does seem like campaigns go on forever but at least it's not as bad as the Presidential campaigns. Not yet, anyway. What did you think of McCain voting with the Democrats on ANWR?

Terri,
What do I think? Need you ask?
AZ Republican Headquarters sure got an earful from LOTS of irate Republicans.
Grrrrr
