Debate Wrap Up and Mainstream Media (MSM) Manipulations
By Lisa Sarrach
October 22, 2004

Round 1 to Kerry - the president's staff did the media's job that night by not assuring the president was rested and relaxed.

Round 2 to Bush - President Bush won this debate, and in my mind, it wasn't even close. Everyone I talked to afterwards, agreed that Bush wiped the floor with Kerry, who looked uncomfortable, and resorted to evoking Halliburton at every turn and insisting he wasn't a flip-flopper.

I had the benefit of watching while out of town and was denied Fox News in my hotel, and therefore was forced to listen to Chris Matthews on Hardball and horrors of horrors, CNN. I say benefit because I was forced to listen to the voices of those determined to have John Kerry win and therefore further denigrate their profession by finally and totally ignoring all tenets of professional journalism that cry out for reporting the news, not shaping the news.

Round 3 - to the president in a knockout. Kerry looked pale and old, and the president fresh and sharp. Kerry resorted to lying more times than I can count, and the president connected with his knowledge of subject, warmth, humor and humanity.

The low point was Kerry's calculated attempt to separate religious conservatives from Bush by reminding anyone who hadn't heard that the vice-president's daughter is a Lesbian. First of all it didn't work, and second, most of America was just appalled at Kerry's naked political opportunism at the expense of a family member of the opposition - it was on display for all to see.

But back to the media - This is how the game is played. Immediately after the debate, the MSM comes out swinging and spinning. Forget "spin alley", the spin starts the minute the debate is over and it starts with the anchors. Some network host lofts a softball to a "colleague" who then declares Kerry the winner, backed up by partisan 'guest' pundits and their own panelists who are supposed to be unbiased and instanto, presto, they are shaping the story in their favor. Then Gallup or someone gets on the phone and calls "undecided" voters who have just heard the experts declare Kerry the winner and just like sheep, they agree with the MSM.

The next morning the instant polls appear to back up the claim of the network experts that Kerry won the debate and that the public also declared Kerry the winner. Feeling used yet? - The so called swing voters are just pawns for the MSM machine and their Democrat anchors.

This election season has been fraught with fraud. The CBS News and Dan Rather debacle, the ABC News memo directing staff to ignore Kerry problems and now with the news anchors "helping" Kerry to win debates, one thing should be abundantly clear to independent voters, Republicans and anyone else with any sense - the mainstream media (MSM) has exposed themselves finally and completely as nothing more than unpaid operatives for Senator Kerry or any other Democrat for that matter and they could care less what the majority of America thinks or believes.

Anybody with half a brain and a lick of sense has been able to see during the course of this election season that the MSM has an agenda. That agenda quite plainly is save the Democrats from the complete and total destruction of their power and influence for a generation.

What nobody is talking about is the elephant in the room, pun intended. The GOP, President Bush and the Congress are poised to complete the beltway power trifecta that alluded them after the Reagan Revolution, 1994 Republican takeover of Congress, and the 1998 Clinton impeachment that only managed to oust Newt Gingrich.

Republicans have had an incredible knack of blowing a lead and overreaching. It's been a rocky road to political dominance for conservatives, shooting themselves in the foot over and over again, and allowing the Democrats to survive to fight another day.

Today, the Democrat party is on life support, the media knows it, the Democrats know it and people like myself know it and that's why when we said that this was going to be the ugliest election season in our recent memory, we knew what we were talking about.

Never before in the history of this country, has one party been poised to retain control of all three levels of the federal government for more than a brief period and be poised to influence an entire generation in political, policy and judicial matters.

But just as important is the message we need to send to the mainstream media, the Democrats and all those who continue to treat us like idiots, like sheep being led to the slaughter.

When President Bush is re-elected decisively and all the Democrat lawyers poised for a recount fight are sent home - All the mainstream media, the crass Democrats and the Senators Kerry and Edwards will hear for years is the echo from the heartland of America - the echo of victory, the echo of hope and prosperity, and the echo of the ghost that was once the Democrat Party.

This election year good will prevail over evil and that means on November 3rd, 2004 we will wake up and the president will keep his job, and we can go to ours, safe in the knowledge that he'll do all he can to keep us safe, keep us prosperous, and keep us free.

The mainstream media and their Democrat friends will get up and go to work the next day, and ponder to themselves and their colleagues, 'how did we get it so wrong?' and weep in their corn flakes over what might have been if they hadn't sold their souls for only one segment of political power and ratings.

Makes no matter to us - we get to go to bed at night in the warm embrace of our family and with the knowledge that those who seek to destroy all that's special about our country have finally been beaten back for years to come.

A new day is dawning for American families - God Bless America and George W. Bush. We will prevail.
