One Step Ahead?

Gangs now operate in all fifty states with estimates of membership as high as 200,000 members nationwide. Females comprise a fast growing component as do younger and younger members.
Last week's Supreme Court decision obliterating the death penalty for juveniles will have far reaching consequences, particularly in violent crime rates among juvenile gang members. Senior members of gangs already use the under-18 crowd to perform the most violent acts since the juvenile justice system has far less significant penalties.
Now, thanks to Justice Kennedy and his wholehearted embrace of international law, Amnesty International and the United Nations over the U.S. Constitution, the death penalty has been eradicated for juveniles no matter how heinous the crime the little darlings commit.
As the Wall Street Journal adroitly pointed out, it is the height of irony that the American Psychological Association -- an organization whose briefs were heavily relied upon by the Supreme Court -- determined that children under the age of 18 do not have the ability to discern the moral implications of committing a violent crime such as murder.

This is an interesting notion considering that the APA also determined that young girls under the age of 18 have the moral clarity to make the life or death decision about having an abortion without parental consent. It has always seemed strange to me that the death of the guilty has weighed more heavily on the collective conscience of the left rather than the death of the innocent.
Having seen the cold eyes of children already indoctrinated into the gang hierarchy well over a decade ago, one can only imagine what lies ahead for our society now that, in essence, criminal enterprises are free to turn our children into killing machines with little to no consequence.
