Joe Mariani
Joe Mariani earned his degree in History several years later than originally anticipated, after changing his major from Physics to English to Computer Science and even Psychology at several colleges in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
In his younger years, he held jobs in nearly every field imaginable -- from dishwasher to field archaeologist to security officer to bookstore clerk -- before turning his computer addiction into a career in the early 1990s. There are times, however, when he wishes he'd stayed with that summer job as a cutlery salesman... people are awfully polite when they know you're carrying a briefcase full of knives.
Having become disenchanted with politics upon the election of Bill Clinton, Joe remained generally apathetic about world events until 9/11. Since then, he has spent most of his free time studying, writing and debating about news, politics, science and culture.
Joe's editorials and links to other articles can be found on his blog at www.guardianwatchblog.com.
