Jennifer King
Jennifer King got her start in the SCUBA diving industry. She was the first (only to date) women President of the Los Angeles County Underwater Instructor's Association from 1990-1992. LACO UIA is the oldest scuba certification organization in the U.S., and Jennifer was involved in teaching various level courses from beginner to instructor.
Jennifer worked in a variety of dive shops around the L.A. area, and spent a year in the Bahamas at the Underwater Explorer's Society (UNEXSO). She has authored numerous articles on scuba diving and family diving.
In 1992, Jennifer founded the Women's SCUBA Association, which started out as a networking association for women diving professionals. WSA started the group WETT (Women's Underwater Test Team), which tested diving equipment designed specifically for women divers.
In 2000, WSA became a founding member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame. Jennifer is currently a Trustee and the Secretary.
Jennifer started writing her weekly column, "The Heretical Housewife" for The American Partisan in 2000. She has since been promoted up the ranks and is currently serving as Managing Editor.
Jennifer lives in Florida with her husband, two sons, Labrador Retriever "Captain Flint" and Squeaky the Wonder Turtle.
