"Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes. "--Benjamin Franklin
And then there's the issue of the independents. You know, those who brag that they aren't going to support either party. Well, at least for the immediate future, it is still a semi-free country. I would like to give these people the benefit of the doubt and assume that they just don't know how to get involved.
"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories."--Thomas Jefferson
There are still many people alive today who have been and still are willing to put their lives on the line for our country. So each of us must ask ourselves, what have I done for my country? What can I do in this war against Marxism? The independent voters need to pick sides. If you are opposed to Marxism, then help the Republicans.
"The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty, and the destiny of the republican model of government, are justly considered deeply, perhaps as finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people." --George Washington
Sitting back, pointing fingers and shouting is not the way to save our country. Getting involved through political clubs, political parties, and helping candidates is.
But ambitious encroachments of the federal government, on the authority of the State governments, would not excite the opposition of a single State, or of a few States only. They would be signals of general alarm... But what degree of madness could ever drive the federal government to such an extremity. ---James Madison,
Now is the time to become involved. It may be that you become involved with the Democrats to pull them away from Marxism. It may be that you decide to help get the Republicans back on track. But whatever you do now is the time to do it. Your children and grandchildren need you to help, your country needs you to help, and you need you to help.
Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer.----Thomas Paine
