Population in Costa Rica
The population of Costa Rica is as diverse as the country itself. There are approximately 4.14 million people now residing in Costa Rica with the majority of those living in the central valley region.
The population of Costa Rica is almost evenly divided between urban and rural people. The majority of the Costa Rican population is predominately of European ancestry with fair skin; however, along the Caribbean coast there are a larger percentage of dark compleceted people that trace their roots to Jamaica and other Caribbean nations. Costa Rica’s population continues to grow at a rate of almost two percent per year, and there continues to be more and more foreigners buying property and relocating to Costa Rica.
