Peace Through Liberty

There may indeed be more military action ahead in the War on Terror and there may not, but President Bush will continue to use the beacon of American freedom to shine in the minds and hearts of the world's oppressed. He believes that the path to peace and security is the return of mankind to its natural state; that of liberty.
This belief was embodied best by the late Ronald Wilson Reagan, another man whose belief in the peacemaking ability of freedom was ridiculed by the media. At his funeral, watched by millions of grateful Americans and others around the globe, the estimable Margaret Thatcher gave the world a history lesson:
"He was able to say "God Bless America" with equal fervour in public and in private. And so he was able to call confidently upon his fellow countrymen to make sacrifices for America--and to make sacrifices for those who looked to America for hope and rescue.
"With the lever of American patriotism, he lifted up the world. And so today the world--in Prague, in Budapest, in Warsaw, in Sofia, in Bucharest, in Kiev and in Moscow itself-- the world mourns the passing of the Great Liberator and echoes his prayer "God Bless America."
