It is the War on Terror and the Man for the Job is George W. Bush
By Frank Salvato
November 2, 2004

This Presidential Election is the most important of our lifetime. There are many things at stake in the next four years - chief among them is our American way of life.

While issues such as healthcare, education, tax reform, stem cell research and the economy are of great concern to each and every one of us these all take a backseat to the War on Terror. What good is worrying about domestic issues if we are not committed to the continued defense of our nation against terror exemplified by President George W. Bush? The War on Terror is a fight for the very survival of our nation.

Do you remember the images of terrorist-embracing fanatics dancing in the streets, celebrating, as our Fathers and Mothers, Brothers and Sisters and our Sons and Daughters lay dead and dying in the ruins of the World Trade Center on September 11th? There is a clear and present danger, a real threat, contrary to what Michael Moore would have us believe. This danger exists for us simply because we are Americans. The threat is present here in the United States and throughout the world.

Because of this it is necessary for us to have a strong and steadfast leader as the President of the United States. For this reason alone we must choose a president that has a vision for freedom, not just only here at home but for the world. We must choose a president who understands how freedom spread around the globe will reduce the number of tyrannical regimes thus reducing and eliminating acts of torture, rape, murder and genocide, reducing a threat to the innocent all over the world, while allowing the oppressed to drink from the waters of freedom as we do today.

To achieve the goals of a safer homeland and a freer world we must have a leader in the Oval Office who does not waiver in the face of adversity, whose commitment to freedom does not fluctuate with opinion polls and who does not make empty campaign promises. If we are to achieve the goals of protecting our homeland and defeating terrorism abroad we must re-elect George W. Bush as President of the United States on Tuesday November 2nd.

In addition to the War on Terror we need to be aware of the very real possibility that the next president will be appointing more than one justice to the United States Supreme Court. Justices are appointed for life and their opinions affect a great many issues facing our country today and in the future.

Judicial activism is on the rise in the United States. Our Founding Fathers envisioned a judiciary that ruled on law as mandated by the Constitution. We are seeing an increased number of judges ruling to create law in blatant disregard for our Constitutional process. In essence, these "activist judges" are overstepping the boundaries of their constitutional charge and creating laws, usurping the authority of those we have elected to represent us in our State Houses and the US Congress.

Issues will be decided by the Supreme Court in the coming years that will either reinforce the visionary ideals created by the likes of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Benjamin Franklin, or will move us even closer to a politically correct society that teeters on the brink of an ever encroaching style of socialism that we fought and extinguished with the Cold War.

In the third debate, John Kerry said he would appoint justices that would interpret the Constitution according to the rule of law. He had it exactly backwards. The judiciary does not interpret the US Constitution according to the rule of law; it issues the rule of law according to the US Constitution. His statement affords us a sneak peek into the ideology Mr. Kerry would place on the bench of the US Supreme Court.

Because of this we need a leader in the White House who has the wisdom to appoint justices who will interpret the US Constitution in a fair and non-biased manner. We need someone in the Oval Office who understands the importance of protecting the boundary between the Judicial and Legislative Branches of our government. Because judicial activism must be stopped in its tracks we must re-elect George W. Bush as President of the United States on November 2nd.

George W. Bush will continue to fight for a more equitable tax system. He will fight to overhaul the Social Security system without affecting the benefits our Senior Citizens receive today. He will continue to demand accountability from our union controlled education system. He will continue to masterfully navigate the economic waters and continue to grow our economy, create jobs and help every American achieve the American dream. He will continue to advocate the spread of freedom through a position of strength both at home and around the world.

I will be voting for George W. Bush because he is the best man for the job. He is a proven leader who holds our country, our Constitution and our way of life above political ambition. He is a true patriot and my choice for President of the United States.
