GOP Candidates Caught In A Modern Day Catch-22
By Doug Patton

All this places Republican congressional candidates in a terrible position with conservative voters. GOP leaders, from the president on down, expect Republican candidates to sell five years of expensive boondoggles to constituents who elected them to go to Washington and fight for limited government and greater national security.
It seems that Democrats like Lieberman can carry the water for every liberal cause and then get thrown overboard because of a single issue, but Republicans will swallow any amount of socialism from one their own just to remain "in control."
As Yossarian remarked to Doc Daneeka, that's some catch, that Catch-22.
