Doug Patton

Born and raised in the Midwest, Doug Patton graduated from Abraham Lincoln high school in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1966.  After marrying his college sweetheart in 1969 and serving four years in the U.S. Air Force (1969-1973), Doug returned to school, graduating with a B.A. in English from Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska, in 1975.

Doug spent nearly twenty years in marketing and advertising before jumping into politics full time in 1993.  He helped elect an unknown young Republican named Jon Christensen in Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District during the GOP "revolution" of 1994.

Since then, Doug has served as a speechwriter and policy advisor to federal, state and local candidates and elected officials.  He founded the Nebraska chapter of the Christian Coalition in 1995 and served as its first executive director for nearly 3 years before returning to the partisan political arena.

He was a candidate himself for the Nebraska Legislature in 2000.

Doug and his wife, Pam, have lived in Bellevue, Nebraska, near Omaha, for more than 30 years.  They have two grown sons, Chris and Gabe.
