Bonnie Chernin Rogoff
Bonnie Chernin Rogoff was born in Brooklyn, New York where she has resided most of her life. She attended Brooklyn College / SUNY New Paltz and received her B.A. cum laude in 1978. She continued her education after receiving a scholarship to study Library Science at Queens College where she graduated in 1982 with a M.L.S.
A classically trained pianist, singer, songwriter, and former librarian, Bonnie became interested in politics when Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992. Having performed part-time volunteer work for Manhattan Right to Life and after attending a number of pro-life events, Mrs. Rogoff felt a need to get involved in the efforts to stop the wholesale slaughter of unborn children for "choice" and "reproductive rights". She began writing letters and occasional guest columns for local papers, and founded Jews For Life in 1998.
Bonnie's interests include classic films, antique cars, Edison phonographs, bird watching, autumn foliage in Vermont, Medieval villages and castles, and reading biographies. She has written a book entitled "Raising Cain and I Was Not Able!" about a biblical babysitter who life gets better after the children get "verse". She has also written several piano works including "Return to Hebron", "Eire Apparent" and "Dance of the Irish Terrier".
Rabbi Yitzchok Winner of Kingsbay Jewish Center provides religious instruction and inspiration. For personal guidance, her mentor has always been her Mom.
Mrs. Rogoff resides in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn with her husband David and two Burmese cats, Fiddler and Misha.
