Brent Bozell

Lecturer, syndicated columnist, television commentator, debater, marketer, businessman, publisher and activist L. Brent Bozell III, 46, is one of the most outspoken and effective national leaders in the conservative movement today.

Founder and president of the Media Research Center, Mr. Bozell runs the largest media watchdog organization in America. Established in 1987, the MRC has made "media bias" a household term, tracking it daily and printing the compiled evidence biweekly in its well-known Notable Quotables, which also releases an annual "Best of NQ" edition selected by a nationwide panel of judges active in the news industry. MRC books include "And That's the Way It Isn't: A Reference Guide to Media Bias"; "Pattern of Deception: The Media's Role in the Clinton Presidency"; "How to Identify, Expose and Correct Liberal Media Bias"; and "Out of Focus: Network Television and the American Economy." Founder and president of the Parents Television Council, Mr. Bozell leads the only Hollywood-based organization dedicated to restoring responsibility to the entertainment industry. The PTC at http://www.parentstv.org features the Family Guide to Prime Time Television, which aids parents in making informed viewing decisions for their children. PTC conducted the largest national newspaper ad campaign in history with late Honorary Chairman Steve Allen, and has mobilized over 600,000 parents and other concerned members who are taking the entertainment industry and its sponsors to task.

In June 1998, Mr. Bozell launched the Conservative Communications Center (C3) to provide the conservative movement with the marketing and public relations tools necessary to deliver its message into the 21st century. C3's online news division, the Cybercast News Service at http://www.CNSNews.com has become a major Internet news source with a full staff of journalists in its Washington, D.C., metro bureau, and operates bureaus in London and Jerusalem, with other correspondents around the world.

Mr. Bozell is a nationally syndicated writer whose work appears in publications such as Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The New York Post, The Los Angeles Times and National Review. He is regularly invited to provide media expertise on news programs by all the major networks and cable affiliates. His appearances include NBC's "Today," CNN's "Inside Politics" and "Larry King Live," ABC's "Good Morning America," many Fox News Channel shows, C-SPAN, CBN and "Entertainment Tonight." He has appeared as a guest and guest host on hundreds of radio shows, from local talk shows to ABC Radio, NPR's Morning Edition, the Michael Reagan Show and the Rush Limbaugh Show.

Named the 1998 Pew Memorial Lecturer by Grove City College, Mr. Bozell is a frequent speaking guest on school campuses, and for civic and political organizations around the country.

Mr. Bozell is Executive Director of the Conservative Victory Committee (CVC), an independent multi-candidate political action committee that has helped elect dozens of conservative candidates over the past 10 years. He was National Finance Chairman for the 1992 Buchanan for President campaign, and Finance Director and later president of the former National Conservative Political Action Committee (NCPAC). He currently belongs to the Council for National Policy (CNP) and sits on the Board of Directors of the American Conservative Union (ACU).

Mr. Bozell received his B.A. in History from the University of Dallas, where he was named the 1998 Alumnus of the Year. He is married, with five children.
