President Obama told a meeting of the National Governors Association: "At some point, we've got to do some governing. And certainly, what we can't do is keep careening from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis." Really?
Yes, really. He added, referring to the sequestration: "These cuts do not have to happen. Congress can turn them off anytime with just a little bit of compromise."
Obama has repeatedly demonstrated that he does not consider himself bound by a duty of good faith to square with the American people. He has shown that he is unafraid to utter the most egregious distortions and exaggerations; he has no fear of being called on them.
Just consider the few assertions I've cited. "At some point, we've got to do some governing." Does he mean that at some point, he needs to quit using every possible opportunity to play golf on the public's dime, that he should stop treating the people's White House as a platform for permanently campaigning, that he intends to forgo his Alinskyite tactics of bullying and demonizing in lieu of dealing with issues on the merits, that he aims to quit flouting his legal obligation to present a budget and that he will begin to exercise leadership over his party and pressure its leaders in the Senate to pass a budget? I didn't think so.
How about his statement that we can't keep careening from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis? Does he mean that he is finally going to renounce his policy, first divulged by his former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, not to let a crisis go to waste, that he regrets having painted a false picture of crisis about the nation's uninsured to force Obamacare through Congress, that he is sorry that he used the 2008 financial collapse as an excuse to enact recklessly irresponsible bills to spend more borrowed money under the guise of stimulating the economy, that he is sorry he leapt on the Sandy Hook shootings to begin a frantic manufactured-crisis-driven crusade to ratchet up his effort to severely restrict the rights of gun owners, that he plans to repent for falsely laying the blame for our disgracefully unbalanced budgets on the "rich," who are already contributing more than their fair share, that he is going to square with the American people about the shameless hyperbole and corruption in his environmental agenda and cease and desist from his dishonest fear-mongering about carbon emissions to advance that agenda, that he is sorry for exaggerating the effects of the Gulf oil spill in order to justify breaching his promises to remove restrictions on offshore drilling and that he is going to quit pretending that America's infrastructure is in a crisis state of repair in order to fuel his case for ever-greater government control and the creation of public-sector jobs? I didn't think so.
Indeed, if Obama is so weary of crisis governance, of which he is the peerless master, then why is he using these very same speeches to manufacture a phony crisis over the sequestration? We are talking about very small-percentage cuts here, mostly in the rate of spending increases.
If Obama were interested in changing his MO from crisis-mongering to governance -- instead of doubling down on his effort to expand the scope, reach and control of the federal government at any cost, literally -- then he would quit characterizing every single activity of the enormously wasteful federal government as an essential service. Private-sector businesses don't enjoy the luxury of simply injecting public funds into their ailing enterprises to avoid cutting expenditures they can't afford. Are private-sector businesses and employees that much less important to Obama than public-sector services and employees? Silly question.
In his ongoing crisis-stoking, Obama never laments the real economic destruction his own policies have already caused. When he does deign to acknowledge economic difficulties, he callously understates the dismal conditions we're experiencing -- and the hardship people are already enduring as a result of his ideological intransigence against cutting spending and reforming entitlements.
But what makes Obama's oratorical flurry against crisis governance an even more insulting farce is that we do have a real, wholly unmanufactured crisis looming that will affect far more than a limited number of government jobs and programs. At the risk of breaking an already broken record, I'd like to point out again that we are going bankrupt because Obama won't agree to spending cuts and entitlement reform.
It is time that he quit playing games and insulting our intelligence by blaming Republicans for the sequestration he authored and for allegedly refusing to compromise when they are the ones who have compromised. They have done so on taxes, whereas he has refused to compromise on spending and entitlements. You make a deal with Obama, and he moves the goal posts.
Seriously, how can Obama continue this charade with a straight face? How long will the public tolerate it?

Well, gee, O—was that actual introspection or did you read that from the teleprompter? Did you look in the mirror and not recognize your own reflection?
You think intelligence, common sense, and wisdom applies to everybody else except you.

What we can’t keep doing is careening from one divisive political speech attack on reasonable solutions to the next divisinve speech, 24/7 media driven, in favor of promoting an idealistic ideology that history past and current has proven to be a failure. The manufacturing crisis began with the Liberal manufactured facts of life that continue to prove to be a failure. You cannot spend more that your earn and expect to succeed financially. You cannot take from the producers and give to the consumers and expect production to continue to occur. You cannot unite a country in prosperity when at every turn you attack and pit segments of society against one another to redistribute wealth on a morality of dishonesty and prevarication.
This President parasite’s game plan is wearing so thin he can no longer get by on the skin of his teeth, or the other thin excuses that come forth from his bottomless mouth of division. Sooner or later the lies, failures and inability of their ideology become so apparent, even those who initially swallowed the cool-aid can no longer refute their failure and will abandon them or perish themselves in their own created failed ugly social experiments whose results are more Frankenstein than Frankincense.
When you compromise with the devil you are just half the way to hell.

“These cuts do not have to happen. Congress can turn them off anytime with just a little bit of compromise.”
WHY doesn’t anyone ever confront him and ask WHAT he is willing to compromise on, and WHY is he blaming Republicans for something he suggested and signed into law?
I agree with the Congressman who said “we don’t need a road-show president”. When he removed the press from the room before talking to the governors, no one challenged him about being the most transparent administration ever.
This could have all been avoided IF Obama has been impeached earlier.
February 26, 2013 @ 9:42 am
Obama is right, Congress CAN turn the cuts off anytime,,,and WILL when it comes to the military and doing what government was designed to do which is to do collectively what they cannot do as individuals, like fight wars,,,and Congress WONT cut when it comes to feeding his horde of social parasites who want the government COLLECTIVE he seeks to have do for individuals what they in a nation of SELF-goernment were suppose to do for themselves. That is what worries him.

It’s funny how Obama NEVER used the word “compromise” during his first 2 years. He and the rest of the Democrates learned this word 2 seconds after Scott Brown was elected. The first 2 years Harry Reid didn’t every offer to compromise with the GOP. Now, they are the Party of NO because they won’t “compromise” with him. The Republicans are stopping all bills from being passed. maybe Harry should check the number of bills that he has tabled. This guy doesn’t have the b@lls to give the Senate a vote on them. One of them might even pass and Obame would have to decide to veto or sign it. It might make him look bad.

Here is a video from when Obama was in office only about 1 year, being confronted about the budget (difference between automatic stabilizers and discretionary spending). And Obama does his normal long-winded dance around the issue, bringing partisan politics into it (Paul Ryan is speaking about discretionary spending, and Obama answers with excuse about automatic stabilizers, which are not the same thing). When finally pinned, he says we can have more discussion later. He can’t actually get anything done himself, and I can’t imagine he could even tie his shoestrings every morning. He actually refused the line item veto offered to him, in a bipartisian bill, because he did not want to be the one with the scalpal in his hand. Talk about filibusters, the president himself kills every bill related to the budget with long-winded speeches that need to be continued later, and just talks in circles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOGrWpBsLNI

Washington is the only place where an lesser increase in spending is called a cut and every liberal screams when it happens.
February 26, 2013 @ 10:33 am
How the hell can America ever survive another four years with this idiot as our president? I never though our nation’s economic collapse could be caused by one person, especially the one sitting in the oval office. It’s a betrayal of the highest order.
February 26, 2013 @ 11:54 am
This man must be insane. He says this scoldingly like it’s somebody ELSE doing these things, when HE is the only one employing these tactics and “not governing”.
He is quite right–we need to quit careening from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis, and HE needs to STOP MANUFACTURING THEM.
February 26, 2013 @ 4:29 pm
It’s the same when Obama refers to “Washington” and whines about what “Washington” is doing. He completely ignores the fact that “Washington” includes HIM and usually means ONLY HIM. He talks about Washington as though he lives in Podunk, and has nothing to do with what comes out of there!
February 26, 2013 @ 12:44 pm
The idiot majority who voted for Obama wanted Obama’s crisis management hand wringing; he did this during his first term. They bought the Obama lies; they want to believe that Republicans are evil and that Obama can save them (from what?). The question is when are the majority finally going to wake up?
February 26, 2013 @ 1:39 pm
More of the same rhetoric.Doom and gloom. It really should be wearing thin with the American people. Hopefully, the time has come for Republicans to NOT cave into his habitual whining, and begging for more money to spend.
February 26, 2013 @ 1:41 pm
Obama will not govern because he does not want to be accountable. Remember “Present” votes. His main focus is to
1. Destroy the Conservative movement and the Republican Party.
2. He will blame all failures on the Republicans – why not it got him elected.
3. He will use the “Crisis” to seize more power.
4. With a rubber stamp congress he will “transform” America so that it looks like Venezuela.
February 26, 2013 @ 1:49 pm
Already Obama is now telling Virginia ship builders: “The uh effects of the uh sequester will uh NOT be uh immediate, but they will uh eventually hurt, uh blah, uh blah, uh blah”! Guess it is sinking in that REPs are FINALLY going to at least stand up to this cut of AN INCREASE OVER LAST YEARS SPENDING! When it goes thru, it will be immediately clear that the sky DID NOT FALL!
February 26, 2013 @ 7:51 pm
I made this comment on a previous article…. after Reagan’s Inauguration, one of his first acts was to make a 10% cut on all government agencies, and to freeze all hiring. We survived…. so Chicken Little and friends are not telling the truth. There is always pork that can be cut… beginning at the White House, Congress, DOJ, DOD, etc, etc….. They always use the same scare tactics…. essential services, the elderly, education (that’s a laugh!), safety of our country (that’s another laugh), and long lines at the airports, safety in the air… and when has that ever been safe. Does anyone remember when Reagan fired all the air-traffic controllers for illegally striking? You thought the world was coming to an end… he brought in Air Force controllers, and then everything eventually seemed to work out. One thing about Obama, I know there are many, he is a revengeful man…don’t play nice with him and give him what he wants, he will get even one way or another. There’s more to come from this double-minded man….we are seeing our country dismantled before our very eyes.
February 27, 2013 @ 5:55 am
The difference is Reagan wanted to freeze spending, whereas Obama does not. A good executive with the good of the country in mind could easily deal with this sequester so that people would not even realize it happened. Once you realize that the government will spend more this year than last year even after the sequester goes into effect, you realize that this whole thing is a political scam.
Obama does not have the good of the country in mind. He will ensure that the government agencies under his control make the cuts as painful as possible for the American people. He wants to wield this as a political weapon.
Obama has no interest in his constitutional obligation, he is only interested in destroying the opposition, no matter what happens to this country as a result.
February 26, 2013 @ 1:54 pm
Wouldn’t it be nice if ANY ONE Republican could explain this so-called ‘cut’ in spending as Rush is able to?? It cuts NOTHING! It ONLY cuts the already ‘cuntinuing resolution’ spending which has already approved an increase of borrowing and spending over what they did the same thing with LAST year! AT this rate, even with this ‘FAKE’ cut, we will NEVER be able to cut the deficit! Cuntgress cuntinues to raise spending every year, no matter what!
February 26, 2013 @ 2:31 pm
The Republicans have offered to give discression to the departments effected by Sequestration. Word is out that Obama will not accept that. Not only that verbal instructions are going out to department heads to make the cuts as “Painful” as possible. In any organization, following orders “unto stupidity” was a good way to make ones point. Am sure this adminstration and the Propagand Divisions of NBC, CBS, PBS and ABC will find examples of all the bad things that occur, even if they have to invent them.
February 26, 2013 @ 9:39 pm
Oh the horrors of the sequester! Obama and his minions are on the campaign trail again, to scare the poop out of the gulible American people once again.
Despite all the histrinonics by Obama, Napolitono, Panetta and the rest of the spending addicts, the sequester does not even freeze the spending level at its current level. Are we to believe that the government spending at a level equal to what they are currently spending will be such a hardship for them?
Even with thr sequester they will have more money to spend than now. But this is not enough for them, they want it all and will lie as all addicts do to get as much as they can.
They want everything and they want to coninue to bankrupt the country further.
Forget about the sequester. How about a freeze? Or better how about a real cut in spending rather than a sssmall cut in the proposed increases? How about stopping the fear mongering and outright lies?
How about doing anything which might actually help the country?
These idiots in power need to be removed. They are liars always and forever.

Unfortunately, Obama will be using these tactics until the end of his presidency – and perhaps for much longer.
He’s a protégé of Sal Alinksy, and a perfect one at that. He’s studied, taught, and lived Alinksy’s “Rules for Radicals” -a Marxist/communist philosophy emphasizing a number of detailed steps and subtle techniques for turning a capitalist society to one of Marxism.
I suggest that everyone read Alinsky’s work, because you’ll be shocked at how closely Obama has followed his “Rules” for making such changes. If we do nothing to stop such oppression . . . loss of rights, freedoms, and liberties . . . in the end we will be living in an America that most of us won’t recognize.
It will be one, however, that Obama will be quite pleased about.
