Schlafly: Ready for UN Taxes?

By Phyllis Schlafly

While President Obama and Speaker John Boehner are wrestling with whether or not they will agree to raise taxes, United Nations delegates partying in Doha, Qatar are planning to impose a new kind of tax on Americans. U.N. conferees have been discussing how they can start a global tax that would hit Americans hard.

The U.N. bureaucrats are not deterred by the fact that Americans should be protected by our U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 7, which specifies that "all bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives." The greedy globalist U.N. bureaucrats have been conniving for about 20 years to bypass Congress and tax individual Americans, and now they think they have devised a formula to do this.

Their vehicle for this travesty is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The U.N. convention delegates dream they can transform the economic structure of the world by a new global treaty using global warming fears (even though the globe has not warmed for the past 16 years).

UNFCCC's executive secretary Christiana Figueres will call a "significant number of meetings and workshops" next year to prepare the new document. The plan is for U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in 2014 to "convene leaders to mobilize the political will to ensure that the 2015 deadline is met" to start this global tax.

This new U.N. document will cap greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide, and replace our use of fossil fuels with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. Government will be expected to subsidize green energy because plenty of evidence proves that alternate energy sources are far more expensive and cannot compete in the marketplace.

Obama gave a half-billion U.S. tax dollars to the solar-panel company Solyndra, which promptly went bankrupt and now is arguing about who will pay the $600-per-hour lawyers who worked on the deal. After Obama gave $133 million of a $249 million grant to a firm named A123 to make batteries for electric cars, that company went bankrupt, too, and now is auctioned to a Chinese company, Wanxiang Group.

The Doha delegates are salivating at the thought of creating a new $100-billion-a-year fund by imposing a first-ever global tax on the right to cause carbon dioxide emissions. This fund is to be headquartered in South Korea and sweetened by a gigantic flow of taxes on international monetary transactions, international shipping and airline travel.

Agenda 21 is a document called the Declaration on Environment and Development and the Statement of Principles for the Sustainable Management of Forests, which was signed by 178 governments including President George H.W. Bush in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992. In 1995, President Bill Clinton followed up by an executive order that established a Presidential Council on Sustainable Development, giving globalist busybodies the excuse to work on it ever since.

Agenda 21's goal is to "save the planet" and "sustain" life on earth regardless of its adverse effect on human life and our standard of living. It is based on the very un-American notion that private property is "a social injustice since not everyone can build wealth from it."

We certainly hope our Congress will reject any U.N. proposal to tax Americans or control our property rights. Farsighted Republicans adopted a Party Platform in Tampa Bay this year stating, "We strongly reject the U.N. Agenda 21 as erosive of American sovereignty, and we oppose any form of U.N. global tax."

To understand the relationship of Agenda 21 to taxes and property rights, you have to learn a new vocabulary of words and expressions. A basic dictionary of about a hundred words and phrases has been assembled by a group called Democrats Against Agenda 21, and here are just a few of their favorite words: climate change, Common Core curriculum, environmental impact, New World Order, outcome-based education, public/private partnership, quality of life, smart growth, social justice, growth management, high speed rail, land use policies, multi-use dwellings, sustainable development and wildlands.

Agenda 21 lays down the rule that "Land ... cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market." The U.N. hopes to require every decision about property use to be based on environmental impact, global land use and global population control and reduction, which means by the government, not by property owners.

The purpose of this U.N. attack on property rights is to reduce the U.S. standard of living to that of the rest of the world because the U.N. bureaucrats resent our prosperity using abundant energy. Agenda 21 was never approved by Congress or ratified as a treaty by the U.S. Senate, so Congress should have no trouble saying No to all U.N. tax or property restriction proposals.

You can expect Obama to attempt to bypass Congress to implement as much of this as he can. It falls right in with his own agenda and sets him up to be named Supreme Leader of the World after his third term as POTUS. (Yes, I know presidents are limited to two terms in office.)

This is merely more socialist redistribution of American wealth, just this time on an Obama inspired INTERNATIONAL Scale, just one more power grab by the weak failed societies to take from the successful and give to the losers while Obama and his socialist redistributors of insanity try to level America down to the failed level of the rest of the world by taking from Uncle Sam and giving to Uncle Ream us.

The UN can’t do squat with or to this country unless the Senate agrees / ratifies any pact, treaty, agreement of any kind.

Who ever came up with this is off the planet, and knows nothing about how this country works.

I can live with food stamps, free mobile phones and free health care but I can’t live with giving money to bureaucrats. If people in the US don’t stop this non sense the slope towards mediocrity is going to be steeper and more slippery. Cheap energy is the only saving grace of the middle class.

“I can live with food stamps, free mobile phones and free health care but I can’t live with giving money to bureaucrats.”

fabian, where do you think the money to provide food stamps, free mobile phones, and free health care comes from? IF you are a U.S. taxpayer, you are already giving “giving money to bureaucrats” to enable them to provide all these “free” benefits. Since you are “able to live” with these freebies, you must be “able to live” with giving money to bureaucrats because without one you can’t have the other.

Do you think the UN global tax will be so generous as to allow half of the U.S. residents to avoid paying the tax as our IRS now does?

I know half the answer to that question: 1/2, yes, half of the UN delegates are representatives of third world thuggery dictatorships. Burma/Mayenmar (sp?) will be added to the roster of delegates within the next year.

Hugo Chavez and company have a do or die mentally in bringing America to it’s knee’s. Why? We made it and they haven’t. Really is that simple. The other half of the delegates from industrialized nations that are usually ‘stand alone’ countries, go along with the ‘oh, look at the poor little thuggery countries..we feel so guilty for not living in grass/mud huts and drinking filthy water like they do’ mentalities… and like white guilt, agree with, pander too the other 1/2 that are thug tottering dictators with a fancy UN title.

Of course we can get microscopic and complicated semantically and site decades of the whys whats and hows…. but the basics are all there and really no more need be said.

At what point do we feel guilty for our expenditure of life, limb and treasure to ensure our way of life? When did it become acceptable for only a few to do the work while the rest lay back and wait for us to ‘fix’ or give them what they won’t get/attain for themselves?

Better to completely remove ourselves from the UN as a nation…taking our allies with us. Kick out the remainder of the UN, sell the building off for a max profit and add that money to our debt. I know it’s a drop in the bucket…but it’s better then the soul sucking, treasure taking, life loosing effort the UN has become.

      ….just a thought.

So what else is new…………the Useless Nuisance (UN to you) is ALWAYS working overtime to find new ways of funding their baloney.

This isn’t going anywhere like all the rest of the schemes they have worked on in the past.

Agenda 21, promoted by George Soros, is a non-binding agreement without Senate treaty approval, which attempts to control property development worldwide. Any elected American official, who has taken an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and attempts to implement any of these proposals, should be charged and prosecuted for TREASON against the U.S.

Today Boehner said he was going to Plan B relative to the “fiscal cliff” and proposing that the Bush tax cuts be extended for everyone but those making over 1 Million dollars a year, which is definitely a compromise from the outset. It looks like Obama is not going to offer up any significant cuts in government spending and has vowed to not do anything to the entitlement programs. Harry Reid said that the House proposal is dead on arrival in the Senate and that means that nothing is really going to change and the tax structure across the board is going to go back to the pre Bush levels.

Actually, this is exactly what the Obama administration wants which is to raise taxes across the board and they have painted the Republicans into a corner to where Obama and his friends in the MSM will blame Republicans for raising the taxes on everyone. Pretty slick…but will it stick in terms of selling it to the public.

The latest data shows that 65% of government spending goes to the major social programs like SS, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, food stamps, disability, and unemployment benefits. That leaves 35% for national defense, the interest on the national debt, and running the rest of the government.

We are spending 9 billion a day and taking in 6 billion in taxes leaving a running deficit of 3 billion a day which has to be covered by borrowing money which is the trillion plus deficit the Obama administration has been running for the last four years. This administration has totally ignored the Constitutional requirement to have an approved budget each year and is actually operating in an illegal manner.

Our country is being run by basically a renegade group of politicians who were sworn in to uphold our Constitution and to protect our country and have fallen down in both cases. All of those continuing to support the Obama policies, including the President himself, should be arrested for a form of white collar treason.

It is true. The earth is warming. It has been warming up since we came out of the last, big ice age some 18000 years ago.

Here are some interesting facts. The greenhouse effect is real. However, 99.72 percent of the greenhouse energy trapped by the earth’s atmosphere is trapped by water vapor and a few other minor gases. Carbon dioxide is one of these minor gases. The total amount of heat trapped by carbon dioxide is very small when compared to water vapor. Water vapor accounts for approximately 98.2 percent of the total energy trapped by atmospheric gases. This is mostly due to water’s ability to absorb light over a much larger portion of the radiation wavelengths responsible for the greenhouse effect.

Man made carbon dioxide, which is also a very small portion of the total amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide, accounts for 0.12 percent of the total energy trapped. The other minor gases account for about 0.16 percent.

Don’t hit enviro’s with truth….it’s like hitting a Vampire with Sunlight! lol, they shriek and run away, smoking from the heat as they recess into the darkness once more. lmao

Those who believe in the global warming mythos (*which now supposedly is causing mass coolingt…yet Polar Bears are supposedly swimming mile and miles to find ice(yes a baloney story debunked so many times it’s silly to repeat)…yet we are supposedly cooling down not warming up…so where is all that ice going? Eskimo’s stealing it for a sunny day or what?) need a reality shot in the arm.

…or….perhaps simply state their newest agenda truthfully and allow the mythos of Environmental Warming to go the way of Grimm Fair-tales. A good story with a good moral…but no truth or fact inlaid within them. The kids of the future will love um!

Yup, me too. And soon, the rest of the country, from the poor to the rich will be sick of it too. The poor will find out that they have to pay taxes (not income taxes, but medical taxes and etc), and the whole country when they find out what’s in Obamacare. Wait till everyone finds out that Obamacare is 2500 pages long, but wait, that’s not all. There’s also THIRTEEN THOUSAND PAGES of rules and regulations that go along with the 2500 pages. Who the hell can absorb all that and follow that? The purpose of Obamacare is to destroy the middle class making everyone join the poor class, and the rich stay rich. Then we have a serfdom, a class of laborers and slaves serving the upper class and no more middle class, no more opportunities to have a better life. You’re born poor, you live poor, you die poor.

I predict an uprising against Obama and the government including the liberals, the democrats to happen in 2014. Be prepared to fight because you’re gonna be in the fight whether you want to or not….

So the UN resents our prosperity and wants to reduce our standard of living? To late. Obama is taking care of that and once he signs the treaty of Agenda 21 (which Congress can not do a thing about it) he would have put the last nail in the coffin of what was once a wonderful country to live. After that we will all be comrades.
