Miller: Waiting on Leadership

By Duane Miller

“I’m waiting on you,” is essentially the message the White House continues to deliver to the House of Representatives when the subject of the pending so-called fiscal cliff is discussed.  Frankly, I am a bit weary of the would-be media telling me that the President is “waiting for the GOP to make a move.”

Political brinksmanship is part and parcel of elections.  I get that, hate it, understand it, but the election is over for crying out loud.  Would someone please tell Mr. Obama that he won and that by winning the country has a right to expect HIM to make a move?

The headlines should read, “The Country Waits for White House to Lead.”  Waiting for your opposition to “make a move” so that a political advantage can be gained by quick response to “the move” is irresponsible and reprehensible.  Secretary of the Treasury, Geithner, was on that talk show circuit demanding that the Republicans say how much they are willing to raise taxes on the wealthy and to then specify what spending cuts they want.

Last week, President Obama laid out a plan that would include $1.6 Trillion in tax increases, hundreds of billions in NEW spending, granting himself unilateral power to raise the debt ceiling, and, perhaps continuing the temporary payroll tax cut, but no guarantees on that one.

The reason I get so frustrated with the media reporting of events is that they are no more objective in reporting to us about the Obama administration than Joseph Goebbels was about Hitler.  What is being fed to us as news is nothing more than propaganda.

Where is the Outrage?

Where is the outrage at the lack of presidential leadership?  Contrary to the position being allowed, it is not the responsibility of the minority to “make a move” that can be countered by the administration.  It is the role of the President to present a budget to Congress, something this president has been loath to do, and something which Harry Reid and the Democrat Senate has allowed.

Geithner said, “"It's welcome that they're (meaning the Republicans in the House)recognizing that revenues are going to have to go up. But they haven't told us anything about how far rates should go up ... (and) who should pay higher taxes,"  Where was the reporter bellowing with disdain, “With due respect, Mr. Geithner, that is not their job, it is yours.?”

The Old-Guard Republicans have been shell-shocked since the defeat of Mitt Romney.  They had convinced themselves that the vocal conservatives in the Party, the newcomers, didn’t really matter.  The GOP leadership really had convinced themselves that they could do what they had always done and win.  It didn’t work, and it didn’t work with flying colors!  The real conservatives in the GOP have had it with “moderation.”   The Republican leadership needs to quit reading the Washington Post and start listening to their constituencies.

Do You Want To Know Our Next Move?

If you are a conservative, don’t be dazed by the loss, discouraged by the propaganda, or dissuaded in your passion to see this country return to the fiscal and social basis you know is our only hope.  Don’t stop screaming at the GOP leaders to be less concerned about working “with” Obama as working “with” their own base constituency.

If the Democrats want to know what our next move is, let’s let them know.  Our next move is to continue to use every legal means available to stop Obamacare.  Our next move is to begin working right now on the 2014 elections and making certain that true conservatives get elected.  Our next move is to advocate for a balanced budget amendment.  Our next move is to expose the Goebbels press for the administration propaganda arm that it is.  Our next move is to anticipate your next move and do everything humanly possible to thwart it.

C’mon, Mr. Obama, lead.  It’s your move.  I’m waiting on you.

---

Let’s face it, the Democrats will never give in to keeping the tax rates low by getting rid of the special tax deductions and special privileges offered by government to the few the proud the predetermined to be successful while the majority useful idiots continue to serve them. Locking in a simple tax rate or even a series of levels of fixed tax rates denies the Democrat politicians from determining personal outcomes of the people who serve them. That 2400 page Obamcare Bill is dwarfed by the actual IRS tax codes which allow the REAL privileged class of politicians to decide that it is THEM who are the winners as well as the hands that feed them. Average Joe citizen does not stand a chance against the stacked deck of ensconced government wealth redistributors who job and whose very existence relies upon on their ability to control and redistribute other people’s taxes from the pockets of those who earn, into the pockets of those who predetermine. The Great Debate is not over whether we should cut taxes or increase government spending to stimulate the economy. The great debate is who will decide the winners and losers in how the assets will be taxed and redistributed. Will it be the crooked politicians who spend, or the honest laborer who earns? Is certainly should not be the jobless by choice who have no skin in the game. He who earns understands the value of what is earned and will spend it more wisely than some distant politician who has not earned it and whose game is to skin YOU.

Leadership is the last thing these Liberal Democrat pretend leaders want,,,they are in the business of followership, which is all they have to offer.

I couldn’t agree with you more! But Boehner and McConnell are establishment Republicans and could care less about we conservatives. And why people should have a vote when they have no skin in the game is beyond comprehension. They just keep on voting themselves “free” stuff. Pretty sad, but until we get some real leaders we will always be at the back of the bus.

The gop will never change voluntarily. This past election proves it. How could anyone have lost when running against a marxist-muslim who is not even eligible to be POTUS? Answer, only someone who was totally controlled by the gop machine which is corrupt, out of touch, arrogant, and just plain stupid.

Romney had numerous opportunities to attack ****** but failed to do so on every occasion. Besides, now that the commie know they can win any election they want simply by manipulating the voting machines, the gop will never win another presidential election, IF we even have one.

This is simple….look at the make-up of many of the groups that voted the fake-in-chief back in and the picture becomes very clear….the people don’t care that he is not a leader. They want stuff and don’t care how they get it, from where…just as long as they get it.

Even though Obozo is a joke, you have to give him and the Demorats credit that they almost always get the GOP to bid against themselves. This guy will never lead, he prefers to let others self destruct while he and his supporters in the press use smoke and mirrors to give the illusion he is the leader. He is the perfect example of the dummy down of the Presidency.

So now Obama isn’t “leading?” I take it as a pretty smart move when dealing with those jerks in the House (the ones whose responsibility it actually *IS* to come up with a budget.) They’d love to see Obama spin his wheels trying to appease them, while the the clock ticks down to the point that he has to agree to something hateful in order to avoid being blamed for no deal. Let the guys who have a plan (that they refused to reveal throughout the election) actually present it. The majority (of the country and the Senate, if not the house) will hopefully know who to blame and 2014 will start the final purge of the GOP from any position of responsibility.

But for websites like this, and lying slime like Limbaugh and Beck, most of the outraged minority (HA HA, I’ll say it again, MINORITY!) who want to be slaves of Goldman Sachs and die young for lack of affordable medical care wouldn’t even know who was in office.

How about an experiment in applied Darwinism? Allow flatheads to opt out of Obamacare if they want. While OC is not perfect(single payer) yet, the effect would be to breed a lot of deadwood out of the race.

For FormerRepublican: Lets take your post point by point shall we?

No, Obama is not ‘leading’ in any traditional sense of the term that has been established by over 200 years of our nations government. Even Woodrow Wilson and FDR had to eventually stand and deliver a sense of leadership due to World Wars that compelled them off the pious seat of progressive ism and onto a platform of National leader and Chief. Like in kind, Obama is dictating a progressive/secular progressive rhetoric laden ‘plan’ and ideal for the nation. That’s not leading..that’s preaching.

You are correct in that the majority of the blame for this mess lies with Congress. Regardless the mess the Dems made of it during the Bush years. Regardless the mess that continues under Repub control..it is both parties mess that for some reason has yet to be cleaned up and put to rights….for many many many many stated reasons on both sides of the political aisle. How about this… BOTH sides have gone way off the bridge, jump the shark, lost touch with what they were sent to Washington to do and has become more corrupt and tainted then days past “Camelot” with Kennedy’s ridding the wild seat of power. Only to be surpassed of course by the end of Lyndon Johnson and Nixon…. congress was like a bunch of wild drunks with an endless credit card limit…which hasn’t really changed much in four decades now has it?

Revealing a plan… before the election. Hmmmmm…. who else did this…let me think…. names on the tip of my tounge… Oh..right… our dear President himself! That’s who. No one can give a point by point plan for anything when they run for President. Why? They don’t have the full set of information and details to do so. What they present are idea’s… and that is what we elect our President upon…the best idea. Once in the White House, those idea’s form into plans within the scope of all the details and all the needs from every far reaching corner of congress and senate committees putting in their two cents. (Which is why most common sense idea’s die…they simply don’t dole out enough to all those hands hanging out from each state and private/union who contributed to get said guy/gal into the POTUS seat.) Reagan, our last truly inspired President, understood that common sense does work… as long as the antiseptic of the light of day is shone upon the houses the want to stay hidden away in the dark recess of shadow so they can continue business as usual.

As for the “Liars” you posted about…. hard to take someone’s opinion and call it a lie or truth. It is an opinion. Perhaps open debate should have more opinion backed up by facts…instead of petty name calling of liar liar pants on fire. (We are all adults here are we not?) Though I don’t care for Beck or for Limbaugh, they are exercising their Freedom of Speech..and like them or not, they do help to solidify our idea’s and opinions on any given topic which may hit on any given news day. Same can be said of Liberal punditry that one may or may not agree with on a philosophical point of view, but understand fully the logistics or facts based given that allow for the opinion or idea to come forth. See… listen to both sides, heck, all sides if more than two in any given topic, do your research and then make up your own mind on what is fact, and what is opinion. This doesn’t make you a liar…or a truth-teller. It makes you one of many sentient human beings blundering through this mess… just as we all are. *><*

Obama care: All I can say is this. Don't drink the Kool Aide and believe everything you read or hear by any given source. Look it up for yourself. Your idea/fix for the situation can not (CAN NOT) happen…as it would tank the entirety of the idea Obama and his congress have brewed up in this poison we call Obama Care. Do we need health care reform? yes..in my opinion we need it badly. Does anyone want to see Granny wasting away in a gutter? No. Does anyone in this nation wish the ill harm or wish them death? Yes… those who will use the high cost of medical treatment for those most unfortunate of us to do exactly that…move on from living to death in order for the whole to have more so that the less can be done away with. These are hard facts my friend. Read at least the first thousand pages of the care act..and then get back to me with what you think. (I got through about 1.500 pages of it…and it's everything that puts a pit in your stomach and then some in there.)

Take the time to 'know' something instead of taking the last thing you hear as gospel. The more you think..the less power has over you. The more you apply your thinking to principals…the better our nations becomes.

Sorry dumocrat, but the first requirement for creating a ‘budget’ begins with the Executive Branch. It is then up to the House of Representatives to examine it, analyze it, determine if it is rational, and within the means of the country. If it does not meet reality of revenue, then the House should determine wh Budgets are built from the inputs of the sundry operating departments of the Executive branch.at items to eliminate, or provide the means for funding. As of this date, no rational Budget has ever been provided in the past 4 years.

I AM very discouraged about this election. Obama has won by voter fraud- can’t we do something about that?
And he is a traitor, not defending our people overseas and lying to the American people- as well as the rest of the world! Can’t something be done?!
Romney is a very good person, but we needed a person who would fight against Obama, tell the press off- to tell the truth and not give the same lies over and over , and try harder to unite the party. I liked Santorum a lot but I believe that Newt Ginrich would have put them straight. The liberals weren’t telling the whole truth about Newt’s background also.
Where was all the information that we needed about Obama? The Obama Adm wated to make a big deal about Mitt’s back taxes- which were fine and it was a lie that was used to accuse him- and yet we don’t see Obama’s college records or his law degree and whether or not he was barred from practicing law.. And his not backing Israel, but rather Muslum countries- Israel who is our strongest ally

Organizations,”Judicial Watch” and “True the Vote”, were trying to get an honest election. Only one way, tho, because the crooks will always tamper with the results. Get every state to pass Voter ID that can’t be stolen: Require proof of citizenship for registration; require a photo ID and a thumbprint when voting; make it a felony for depriving overseas citizens of their votes. That includes the military or anyone that can’t be in United States for the election. Start working on it NOW. Discuss the requirements with the Secretary of State of your state. Ask how can “True the Vote” be passed in you state. Most legislatures are not in session all year. Get the dates of the session. Get to know your representative. Contact her/him. Tell them what you want. Contact your state party, or join a conservative group, maybe the Tea Party; ask if they will work to get Voter ID passed in your state. Be sure to have an overwhelmingly majority support for it. Or get a petition signed by residents, to take to the voters in the next State election. Collect lots of evidence of voter fraud. “Judicial Watch” has plenty. (WWW.JudicialWatch.org) Prepare answers for those who will object to providing an ID.(ACLU, etc.) (Remember the country or countries we saw on TV, who voted, and voters proudly showed their “inked” thumb/finger after voting?) Get some photos to use in publicity. Show Americans who object to Voter ID how unappreciative THEY are in being FREE to cast their votes!

This article is the biggest distortion of what is actually going on that I have ever seen. Claiming that President Obama is waiting for the GOP to make a move is correct but this is after he has put forth TWO tax proposals that the GOP rejected and called jokes.

So basically he is tired of the republicans acting like children. He wants them to state what the hell they think is reasonable before he wastes more time making proposals that they won’t even attempt to ******* read.

Either way the GOP is in a losing battle and President Obama holds all the guns. If they reject the proposals and wait for us to fall off the cliff the GOP will be blamed for any recession buy the majority of Americans. If they accept his tax plan the GOPs wealthy financiers won’t be happy that they couldn’t buy their way out of a tax break.

What the president is “waiting on” is for the GOP to fold on everything. He presents an impossible situation and then broadcasts far and wide that the ball is in the GOP court. Well, the “ball” is a ball of poop that no sane person would accept. YOU HAVE TO MEANINGFULLY CUT SPENDING! I suspect that if every working American gave the government every cent he or she had, we still wouldn’t clear the national debt, especially with the rate of Obama’s spending.

The President is telling the GOP, “you go first,” but he has no intention of fulfilling his part of the bargain. “We’ll cut spending down the road.” Huh. Isn’t that kind of like, “Yeah, baby, I’ll marry you, but we don’t have to wait ’til then.”

the president’s call for $1.6 trillion in tax hikes — four times the value of his proposed spending cuts.

The administration’s latest proposal includes roughly $600 billion in spending cuts. Those cuts, however, would be offset by $200 billion in proposed stimulus and other spending programs. The multi-year stimulus program would include at least $50 billion in fiscal 2013 alone; the administration also wants an extension of unemployment aid. And, in what one House Republican source called a “pipe dream,” the administration called for effectively implementing a permanent increase in the debt limit.
The plan underscored how the post-election period has only pushed Republicans and Democrats further apart.
So lets go over the cliff and Obama can go over too. HE CREATED IT AND HE CAN OWN IT!

You are going to wait a long time if you are waiting for what we would call “leadership”. President Obama is a leader in name only. In reality he’s a radical, bullying, Chicago-style thug politician. His idea of “leadership” is “I won. Now you must do what I say or I’ll destroy you.” He’s also thorougly narcissitic and cares for no one save his immediate family. Whether we go over “the cliff” or not Obama wins, since his media will cover for him. Most Washington Republicans are blind or ignorant of who he is. Or they don’t want to be called “racists”. It matters not, since regardless of what happens, Republicans will be blamed. So, why not go don’t with “guns blazing”, to use a figure of speech. Answer: Political fear. Elections have consequnces and whether they know it or not, Americans voted for this stuff.

Sadly. I feel as I am caught in a tunnel with a runaway freight train bearing down on me. At the beginning of his first term Honduras taught a lesson that this country ignored. A lesson that was History attempting the nth repeat. They succeeded in stopping an incipient dictatorship. But our media, our Republican party, many in the population, all ignored it. Even worse, we have had the likes of John McCain calling him a ‘loyal American’. And the lack of a true ‘leader’ is sorely missed. We are in a ‘war’ to save this country, but instead of a Patton, or a Bradley, we have Westmoreland.

When a country is duped by a self-admitted druggie twice, I don’t think the electorate is smart enought to know what leadership is. Our president is a fraud, but, on the other hand, he is quite glib. The glibness is what fooled the low-information voters. They thought, and still think he is “cool”, and for that, he is a good president. We are all suffering with a sophomoric Santa Claus president now.
