Limbaugh: Time for Congressional Republicans To Expose Obama's Agenda

By David Limbaugh

We can get back to discussing GOP minority constituent recruitment soon, but in the meantime, we have a fiscal cliff issue that beckons -- the real fiscal cliff (America's imminent financial collapse), not the government shutdown molehill everyone is agonizing over.

Congressional Republicans should look at their party's loss in the presidential election as liberating. They surely now understand that the strategy of soft-pedaling Obama's record and agenda doesn't work. They surely grasp that its fear of calling President Obama out on his real intentions and the disastrous consequences of his destructive policies just plays into his hands and enables the advancement of his agenda.

So, how about some bold, straight language from our side? How about telling the American people exactly what Obama is up to? How about drawing a line in the sand right now -- before the pseudo "fiscal cliff" negotiations even begin -- and announcing there is no point to entering these farcical talks because they don't share the same goals? Republicans want to prevent a national financial collapse, and Obama wants to keep spending and prevent entitlement reform so that he can complete his task of fundamentally transforming America.

Obama is already engaging in doublespeak and deception about his goals in these negotiations, and Republicans, instead of permitting him to control the language and the narrative, should flush his true intentions into the open at the very outset.

Let's start with this fact: Obama doesn't want to raise "revenues." He wants to raise tax rates on the "wealthy," a group that includes tons of people who are not wealthy, and a policy that may well not raise significant revenues anyway. Even if you assume tax hikes on those who provide the lion's share of American jobs won't further suppress economic growth and thus revenues, the amount of money they would generate won't make a dent in our annual deficits, much less our crushing national debt.

So Republicans must assert that Obama's uncompromising demand that we raise taxes on the "wealthy" is not about raising revenue, but redistributing wealth and punishing the rich.

Every honest, informed person knows we cannot bring our budget and debt into balance without major structural entitlement reform and real reductions in discretionary spending.

Here again, Obama has made it very clear he doesn't share the goals of reducing spending and reforming entitlements. He not only refuses to restructure entitlements and seriously reduce discretionary spending (except military), but he's salivating over the prospect of spending (he calls it "investing") any "revenues" the tax hikes generate.

The naked reality is that Obama and his Democratic Party are entering these budget negotiations in bad faith. Republicans must confront Obama, using plainspoken English words as defined in the dictionary. Either he doesn't believe spending and entitlement reforms are essential to balancing the budget and averting a financial collapse, which would make him more obtuse than any president in history, or he doesn't have any intention of addressing our deficit and debt problems. Either way, he has obstructed any serious spending and entitlement reform initiatives for four years and still hasn't put a plan on the table. It's imperative that we conclude he is going to use all his power to prevent such actions going forward.

On those rare occasions when Obama is forced to discuss entitlement reform, he demagogues and lies about alleged reductions in entitlement benefits to the middle class and seniors that would occur under Republican plans. But we have no choice but to institute and manage a reform plan on our own terms, such as Paul Ryan's Path to Prosperity, which does in fact preserve benefits for the most vulnerable groups and causes as little pain to others as possible.  Otherwise, our exploding expenditures are going to force reform upon us the hard way, with an ugly Grecian-style financial collapse that will make 2008 look like child's play and show us what real pain is.

If the GOP acts forcefully and boldly, it may still prevent this collapse. But if not, when we are hurtling toward the Earth together, we can do so knowing we did all we could to save this great nation for our children. Or we can reminisce about how the GOP again pulled its punches for fear of looking mean-spirited or because they, too, didn't believe their own rhetoric or possess the courage of their convictions.

Before Republicans reenter this process of what are sure to be futile negotiations, please let them put their case before the American people and force Obama to explain his actual intentions. It's time to have this out and to force a sober national assessment of where we are and where we're going.

Out in the open, perhaps we can discover whether a majority of Americans truly share Obama's goal of obstructing spending and entitlement reform and thus destroying America's future. The rest of us have a right to know.

We need to get over the debilitating fear of being called “racist” for criticizing Obama and anything he does. He’s an evil man with evil intentions and is getting away with far more because of his skin color.

If you are really truthful, it is indeed racist to let him get away with his evildoing because of his skin color.

Political correctness needs to be discarded and common sense brought back. Do any of the pantywaist Republicans have the courage to actually call him out? I doubt it.

What they will do is rip out their tongues to keep from uttering a single word or phrase that even might remotely be considered racist!
Hell, they would faint dead away if such a word or phrase was uttered! You can just hear the collective GASP!

And, he’s at most half black (possibly less, depending on who his father really is) and half white. As far as I know, half white/half black, or half white/half mixed race does not qualify as a “race” – just as Mexicans or Latinos are not a race.

It’s not possible to be “racist” about such a person, since they belong to no race.

There is a large economic turndown crisis coming, and it is not a matter of if, but when. God will not be mocked nor the Gods of economics. As you sow, or fail to sow, so shall you reap! I for one am not so sure Obama can put it off beyond his tenure in office and losing this election may indeed be a blessing as the buck of responsibility will stop exactly where it belongs, in the lap of the Democrat socialist party of wealth redistributors who create nothing, just cause confusion and inequity of justice in their faulty redistribution of productive wealth and assets, who never leave things behind better than whence they arrived. Time for the real wealth destroyers take the accountability for the deceptive smoke and mirror economy that is crumbling before our eyes. Yes Obama, Pelosi, Reid, you did build that.

I hadn’t thought of it that way- that the Democrats winning may be a blessing in disguise. I know that now Obama has been reelected, a dollar collapse is inevitable. I thought that Romney had a chance of averting it, especially with Ryan, one of the few in Washington who gets it, as his running mate. But maybe even if Romney won disaster could not have been avoided. And if the US default or dollar collapse happened on Romney’s watch, the history books would blame him (unfairly) and the GOP would be finished.

As an aside, Obama will not be responsible for the fiscal disaster either. He certainly did not begin the deficit spending and money printing. Obama is a symptom of the disease that has been slowly killing this country for decades: the idea that we can create prosperity with a printing press. The patient is on life support, and the “medicine” the Democrats are administering is only hastening his demise. Obama has been called “historic” since he arrived in office. His legacy will likely be having the distinction of being the President during the worst fiscal crisis in US history.

Republicans need to stand together and firm. Obama will paint them as being responsible for any ill no matter what. He will take credit for any gain no matter what.

Demand all tax cuts come off Obamacare.

Demand ZERO tax increases across the board.

Do not negotiate – he has painted the gop as the party of NO anyway and will continue to do so no matter what we do. regardless of what we give him, we are headed for a fiscal disaster.

We can offer solutions, but not with the programs that they have put in place.

Let that be known. They have created too many entitlements to be sustained.

LET OBAMA OWN IT. Let the DEMOCRATIC PARTY OWN IT.

If they decide to continue on their path to folly they destroy their party. If the GOP negotiates with them, you continue to lose ours.

Agree…the GOP negotiates from weakness. Needless to say a losing proposition from the start.

I would immediately talking to the fraud-in-chief, Reid and the rest of the bums and let them wallow in it.

The so called “cliff” is a term the media came up with to scare the hell out of people and help to marshal through more of Obozo’s plan to ruin the USA. Yes, tear us down is his goal.

I have written my Senators (both Dems) and my Congressman (GOP) at least 5 times each about this and have warned them that playing chicken with our lively hoods will haunt them one day.

Never underestimate the power of the disoriented Rino to allow the spendthift Progressive off the hook to escape culpibility for the destructive policies they produce. If the GOP did nothing but sit back and let the Democrats take the blame, things would heal. When the GOP steps in and compromises, they just become part of the problem, but all of the ownership of the problem thanks to the MSM who will distort any outcome. Better not even to get in the same room with Liberal politicians, let alone get into bed with them politically. They and their policies have plenty of warts.

There is a great sense of urgency in David’s article. If Republicans are tarred with the epithet ‘party of no’, they should turn it around and wear it like a badge of honor. Put some teeth into it. Stand up and declare (and really get behind it) ‘We’re the party of F*** NO!’ But some way or another, they have to flush out the truth of Obama’s machinations. Moreover, they have to keep up the momentum whenever in the media, because the media is very adept at controlling the narrative.

For Medicare to exist as anything close to what we have today, major funding adjustments will be necessary. This will include vastly higher premiums, higher deductibles and higher copays… from, guess who, those wealthy folks who are being targeted by the current Cliff Debate. These same people will also be called upon to “save” Social Security… but in this case they will pay way more in and then be means tested and get way less out. Every study/commission has pretty much come up with these same conclusions. So of course we are saying no… No to letting the Administration tap out the source funding needed to preserve the entitlements the most vulnerable amongst us.

In the 60′s the Democrat Party, began it’s slow and deliberate march towards socialism. The party incorrectly termed the Democrat party today, honestly would be more correctly identified as the Socialist/Democrat party.

During their march, the Socialist/Democrats, quickly learned they could garner the votes of the ignorant, the poor, and those with personal agendas. If they had a need or an agenda it was known the Socialist/Democrats were the ones to lie, deflect and twist facts to get their way, and get you what you wanted.

So the Socialist/Democrats picked up the blacks, the gays, the atheists, the communists, the anarchists, and everyone else who had a personal agenda of greed, hate, or destruction of America.

It didn’t take the Republicans long to figure out they were losing votes to the Socialist/Democrats who gave everyone what they wanted. So the Republicans began giving in. They lost their ethics. They lost sight of who elected them, and what they were hired to do.

Sadly during this same time, America was becoming lazy. We were too busy with all of our new technology, fast cars and enjoying the fruits of the labors of our parents.
We couldn’t be bothered with politics. We had “Representatives” to take care of us. So they did as they pleased, with each Bill they introduced and each vote they cast they began to worry less about representing, and were more concerned with “giving in” to ensure their reelection.

And every time CONgress got away with something, they realized we weren’t paying attention. So like children with no upbringing, they kept pushing more, taking more, and spending more. And WE let them!

Since the 60′s the Socialist/Democrats, have chipped away at America, our economy, our freedoms and our way of life. Sadly, since the 60′s the Republicans have let them. If we are at a “fiscal cliff”, it’s not just because of obama and the Socialist/Democrats, it’s because of what our Representatives as a whole have become. It’s because of what WE THE PEOPLE let them get away with.

It’s time to fall over that cliff, not in fear, but in defiance and determination. We must allow what the Socialist/Democrats have created to come to pass. The only way they will see (of course not all of them) that their plans and schemes are a failure, is for the conservatives to stop trying to fix what little they do. They have chosen to ignore history and facts, because of their belief, they can do it better.

Let it crash! Let them fail! Let them lie and call you racist, when we all know they are the real racists today. America will struggle, as it has for decades now. But it will come back stronger and more determined. If it doesn’t, then WE THE PEOPLE and America are indeed lost, and deserve what we are left with.

You are exactly correct. The only way to make people understand is to force them into a disaster of historic proportions. Many people will die due to their lack of actions and addicted over spending ways. Maybe then when the American people actually have another tax revolt, we can fix most of the problems THEY have created.

Boehner and the Republicans in the House have the ball in their court. The proposal brought to Congress by Timothy Geithner was all tax increases and a promise of cuts later…maybe…and by the way, it includes letting the President raise the debt limit without approval of Congress. This is the Presidents plan to deal with the so called “fiscal cliff”. If you were John Boehner, would this indicate that Obama really wants to do anything serious about cutting his spending and excessive expansion of government?

President Obama has no real leadership skills. He does not care about team building or the bipartisan Congressional process that our Constitution expects. The only way he knows how to lead is the simplistic style of a dictator who wants it “his way or the highway” which is a fundamental mindset of his Chicago style political training.

There really will be little sincere negotiations with this Whitehouse on anything, especially since they have been given a second term, and all they want is more money to spend any way they want…period.

At this point, the Republicans in the House need to caucus and decide how they want to behave over the next four years with this administration. They are basically in a “no win” position as this administration and their MSM friends are going to demonize the Republicans and blame them for whatever happens that turns sour looking ahead. Obama has yet to take the responsibility for any of his failed policies.

How Boehner and the House deals with this fiscal cliff issue will set the stage for any future negotiations or Congressional legislation. The Obama administration is feeling empowered and think they can just do about anything they want and the Republicans will ultimately cave to their wishes.

For me, it is time to take off the gloves in dealing with Obama and his CZARs and to take an even tougher position on actions Obama wants to take that are obviously not good for the country, especially if they are extreme (like giving Obama an unlimited credit card). Forget about the next election cycle. We want Boehner and the House to do what is best for the country. Be the adults in the room.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if tomorrow’s headlines were:

      Boehner Attacks at Press Conference

AP – In a shocking display of temerity, Speaker of the House Boehner held a press conference and opened with these words:

“Last week, President Obama presented congress with his budget proposal. This proposal seeks to do nothing but push our nation further off the cliff. It would be laughable, if it weren’t so serious. It is obvious that the president has no intention of working to fix our country. We, the Republican controlled House, have met this weekend in private and conclude, unanimously, that enough is enough. We no longer fear for our jobs or our lives. As patriots of this still-great country, we announce today that the con stops now. Articles of impeachment have been drawn up regarding Fast and Furious, Benghazi, birth certifate fraud, illegal czars and myriad other charges that make it painfully office Mr. Obama is guilty if high crimes and misdemeanors, up to and including treasonous acts. We represent America, and we will not back down any longer. I will now take questions.”

It’s time to let the American electorate bear the full consequences of what it’s been voting for since 1976, and for a coalition of pragmatic realists to attempt to form a new party by 2016.

This country (and our global civilization) is being herded into an abyss by the psychopath they elected — after the village-idiot we elected left office. The only remaining question: can the USA survive 16 years of the two worst Presidents in our history. I’d say our odds are 1-in-3 at best.

One theory on the table is to actually let Obama have whatever he wants so that Republicans cannot be blamed for the imminent disaster in the making, and this is an enticing theory to let play out over the next four years. It looks like Obama plans on doubling down on more spending and his expansion of government, and the House cannot really do much about it. Obamacare and the 31 embedded tax increases are going to happen, the debt limit will be raised, and Obama really wants all of the Bush tax cuts to expire, not just for the higher income categories, but is willing to behave like he actually cares about the middle class…it is all political posturing.

This country is headed into a major financial abyss and Obama apparently could care less because he thinks the impact of it will happen after he is out of office, therefore, he is going to continue playing to his constituents and helping them put in place programs that are beneficial to them. More spending and no significant cuts to any programs he likes as he continues to grow the federal government.

The dynamics are there for everyone to see as we see the tax base in the country shrinking while the size of government continues to grow and the financial liability continues to increase at an unprecedented rate. More and more Americans are going on welfare and other government subsidies like food stamps, etc. while the cost of everything we need to live continues to increase. This is a disasterous dynamic and the Obama administration continues to do nothing…NOTHING..that will turn around this accelerating financial disaster.

Romney understood that the only way to turn this disastrous dynamic around is through our private industries which are the drivetrain of our economy. We have to expand the tax base in the country which can only be done by creating jobs in our private economy. We know that we have to reduce government spending as well. The Obama administration thinks that expanding government is the answer which is just making the problem worse.

The only way millions of Americans who voted for a continuation of the failed Obama policies will finally understand how our system is designed to work is to have the federal government go into some form of default and their government benefits be reduced or cancelled. Only when they feel the pain of their decisions will they be receptive to the changes that eventually will have to be made. Only then will a candidate like Romney, Ryan, or some other more conservative candidate will be elected President.

It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that Mr. Obama and his crew are less than honest and forthright about their true intentions. The fact that the media is so biased in the Democrats favor is nothing new, is expected and should not be whined about as it is demeaning and unproductive. If the GOP is in a no win situation, instead of trying to hold back the river, so to speak, get out of the way and allow the other guys to drown. They can only do so much damage before the American people realize the truth and rebel. Lets make certain that they turn their anger and full attention to the Democrats who are really responsible and sit back and observe. Do not forget that 49% of the popular vote was against Mr. Obama which we should take as a signal that it won’t take long for the rebellion to take hold and strike back at the Democrats and for all that they stand for. The Tea Party will look like a child’s plaything compared to what is inevitably coming.

If the financial collapse happens we won’t have an illegal alien problem because they will all go home. Which is more than the US citizen can do.

Why would they go home? Many of them have everything subsidized, and are permanently excused from paying into Obamacare (as are the Muslims). They even get to vote for whoever will steal more from us and give it to them.

Mexico isn’t going to treat them that well – in fact, Mexico is working to get as many of them here as possible, so that they don’t have to deal with them, themselves.

What the aliens do will depend on what the plan is. Since the collapse is being engineered purposefully, as this article points out – don’t we think its entirely logical to assume the people doing the engineering have a plan for these people?

Maybe these aliens are going to become the “New Homeland Protection Force” hired to “restore order” for the “transformed America”, with the promise of a secure job and a steady paycheck, and a place in the “New America”.

If the GOP abandons the social issues, then elections become merely a bidding war between Democrats & Republicans.

Republicans, as Conservatives, in their pursuit of political power, keep financial viability & sustainable prosperity as priorities.

Democrats, as Liberals, are addicted to political power. Addicts do not care about viability or sustainability. Their only priority is getting more of that to which they are addicted.

Therefore, if elections become bidding wars, the Democrats will consistently win, as their did last month.

End of the GOP. End of America.

No. It’s not the end of America. The end of America is when God decides its the end. And what God does with each of us as people depends on the choice we make as individuals.

America is an abstract. What matters is the Land, the weather and the mindset. That’s what makes a nation.

Jonathan: Let me respectfully disagree. The end of the World and the end of mankind will most certainly be God’s final decision. But how do we know the collapse of Amerca isn’t part of His end game? We don’t! The strongest Christian Nation on Earth falling from grace could most certainly signal part of God’s divine plan.

You mention that the “mindset” is part of what makes us a Nation. I agree! But this Nation’s mindset has been Christian since it’s inception. It has been that hard work, helping your fellow man, and moral values were a vital part of who we were as a Nation and as a people.

We, as a Nation, have lost that mindset. The news and facts of what is happening today prove it. America can fall! It is falling! And it can fall because it’s supposed to. If it does fall, as you correctly point out, those of us who keep the faith, will go through trials and tribulations on Earth, only to be rewarded later.

There is nothing, NOTHING from our “Representatives” that give me any hope they will ever have the intestinal fortitude to stand up for Christianity. CONgress and the Supreme Court are the reason the attacks on Christianity have been successful. Those who have the power, have done nothing for Christian rights since the 60′s. Why should we ever expect that to change?

Veedub, I think you misconstrue what I’m saying.

Referring back to the end of the original post, I replied that the end of the GOP is NOT the end of America. I don’t believe that, because I don’t believe the GOP matters a hoot to God as a party. I believe the GOP is just as blind and aimless as the Democrats.

The end of America is in God’s hands, and he will decide when that is, irrespective of what happens to the GOP.

Personally, I think the best thing Christians can do is come out of the GOP and the Democrats both, and stand up for God.

      Jonathan & VeeDub,

I think I took too big a leap when I wrote “End of GOP. End of America.”

It seems undeniable to me that Liberals, who dominate the Democrat Party, have rejected God & His principles for human society. If someone doesn’t stand up against this, America as a whole will follow suit, & America will end badly.

God was clear with Israel that if they didn’t follow His ways, they would be invaded, carried away into captivity & otherwise suffer terribly. Unlike Israel, America doesn’t enjoy a Divine promise of eventual restoration. So if we go away from God’s principles, we will likely go away, period.

It is possible that people turn back to God, gather their resources, resist & even overthrow the currently dominant spirit. That resistance may well find its political expression thru the GOP; tho it may be another party. I would submit that, if the resistance is merely political, we will lose. What we need is something far more comprehensive. More like the Great Awakenings of the past, a multi-decade reformation of minds & hearts that changes everything, not just politics. A movement of the Spirit, not poll numbers. It is a race between renewal & corruption.

Personally I am tired of playing nice with “O” and Dems.
The dems go straight for our THROATS and RIP it out and WE play THE nice and polite road TO DEFEAT.
    Ain’t good enough any more.
While the establishment R’s are still trying to get out of the NICE paper bag the D’s are burning the bag with us in it and our country DOWN.
The time for rules is over, “O” invents new everything all the time.
If R’s don’t go for “O’s” throat by stopping the funding for his spending right now I will never vote or support R’s again and its Tea Party time.
I am NOT the only person thinking the R’s are just WIMPS. I hate a 3rd party route but the R’s left me and I ain’t never gonna forget these good ole guys and their wet dishrag approach to losing.
R’s need to be attack dogs on:
    1. Dem lies and illegal actions, like going around the constitution.
    2. The house can and should STOP funding RIGHT NOW. The house passes a budget and sends it to Senate. NOT vote or change it to bad STOP FUNDING of their favorite PET spending. Tell the world no budget every week we stop funding for MORE of Dem STUFF they want.
    3. Go to war with the PRESS with the truth. Go on their shows and tell them to explain to the people WHY they didn’t tell the truth and ignored the truth. Provide specific examples of the double standard. If they don’t invite you back go on Fox where at least things are BETTER.
    4. Whatever you are doing now AIN’T working. Invent new rules of our own in the Senate, STOP BEING FLOOR MATS to be kicked around. Throw wenches into the works every day. When the press and Dem whine tell them to stop breaking the constitution.
    5. When things get worse tell the TV, press to see the Dems because we didn’t do anything, they are in charge and have total control.
    6. You are losing the respect and patience of Americans and run the risk of losing your base by your ineptitude and STUPIDITY.
    7. Unless you change something RIGHT NOW Y’all ain’t gonna like what will happen.
    8. I will not fund you guys anymore until I see Y’all go for the throats of Dems right now. We probably lost the country already but at least go down fighting.

Baloney! The GOP doesn’t do these things, Mr. Limbaugh, because they are led by the same people who lead the Democrat Party.

Don’t try to tell me anymore that these guys are just naive fools. It’s just too farcical anymore to believe. Like believing Hitler didn’t know about the Holocaust.

Conservative Americans are being led down a primrose path because they refuse to think. We are slowly, incrementally being marginalized right out of the electorate. The Left is teaching your kids to hate you! The Left is subverting the youth to socialism without resistance. I went to college in the 80s and I saw it. You don’t think the GOP leadership knows what their kids are learning in school? Where do you think BUSH and all the rest of them went to school at? You’re being laughed at. It’s only a matter of time before you’re being shot at.

50 years and counting. When are we going to wake up? Very soon, conservatives are going to be the Jews to America’s concentration camps.
