Toloczki: Champions of Liberty Must Refuse the Noose They Have Been Handed

By Kerri Houston Toloczko

Devastated. Not because my party lost.  Elections cycle like bell-bottoms.  Not even because we have four more years of a president who willfully or carelessly mishandled everything he's touched and is demonstrably lacking compassion and an American heart. It's that half the country believed lies and bought into the race baiting and politics of envy that were Obama's only cover.  They accepted the false Democrat election strategy that Republicans are racist, anti-women greedy white guys.

On social media before the election, Obama supporters - predominately young Blacks - threatened the lives of Republicans and Whites if Romney won.  Democrats mock and insult African Americans Republicans like Condoleezza Rice and Allen West.  Black pastors close to Obama said all Whites go to hell and we are committing genocide against people of color.
Who are the racists?
Obama voters believed the fictional GOP “war on women” and didn’t recognize it as contrived to obfuscate Obamacare’s attack on the religious freedom of Catholics.  Launched by ABC’s most famous Democrat operative George Stephanopoulos at Mitt Romney in a primary debate, Romney’s response, “I have no idea what you are talking about,” said it all.
The majority of women voting decided a massive increase in child poverty, decreased family income of $4000 (including women’s), and 750,000 women losing jobs in the last four years was not as bad as paying $108 a year for birth control.
Whose policies hurt women?
A major factor in the Obama reelection were voters under thirty who placed the rope of economic decline around their necks and kicked the chair.  They voted for Mr. Obama because he is cool or because they are spoiled brats.
I recently had a conversation with a high school liberal who explained, “rich people suck” and have only become rich on “the backs of the poor.”  It is fair to take money from people who make “too much” and give it to others who don’t.
This young man lives in a multi-million dollar home, drives a new BMW and only wears Hollister clothes.  And sells pot on the side.
Social networking posts expose a profoundly self-centered younger generation.  Their parents find “oh, okay” easier than “no,” and they are enamored of reality TV where materialism, rampant profanity and filming of sex and bodily functions with no semblance of privacy or respect is acceptable entertainment.  And God?  Forget Him.  He is, as my young friend said, “a bogus downer.”
Many in this age bracket aspire to the thug life and anything that feels good.  Spelling, sentence structure  – gone – and with it, any hope of a decent job.  For example, lifted off the Facebook page of a (white) teenager I know: “wut good my dude? u still wit da b**ch? So ni**a, lol, Wut da biznis iz?”
Explaining to these young people that the free movement of capital provides them with a sound economic future is futile.
Americans voted for their own bankruptcy and financial collapse.  America’s per-capita debt is 35% higher than Greece and Obama's newest budgets add another $6 trillion.  Greeks are not rioting to reinstate capitalism, but against losing their handouts. Soon half of our country will be forced to pay -- in cash and liberties -- for the decisions of the other half.Due to the complicity of the mainstream media, many Obama voters have no idea that in the last two months, the President utterly abandoned Americans in Benghazi, New York and New Jersey.

After Hurricane Sandy, he flew to New Jersey for a photo op with Governor Christie and never engaged again.  On Election Day, while thousands of hurricane victims suffered - frozen, starving and dehydrated with little federal help - Obama didn’t revisit them.  He played basketball.
Coverage of the continued plight of Sandy victims?  Near non-existent.
Obama ignored repeated requests from our Libyan diplomats for additional security before 9/11/12, refused to provide assistance during the Benghazi attack, pretended a movie did it, and orchestrated a cover-up of his failures.  Parents of the dead accused him of murder.  How could his candidacy withstand this?  With the exception of superb reporting by Fox News and attempts at honest coverage by ABC’s Jake Tapper and CBS’ Sharyl Attkissson, the media covered it up.
I grieve not just for my children, but for the children of liberals who reelected this economic and national security nightmare and his team and put our nation at great risk. But we can’t let it go, because those who champion liberty do it not for themselves, but for those they love, and the God who blessed this nation at its birth.

When those who don’t care have the majority, then we must figure out how to care twice as much.  That is our challenge.

I’m fortunate to have a teenager (15) who saw past many of the lies and deception. Sadly, she was demonized, ostracized, and humiliated at school (in a well-to-do neighborhood with an overwhelming high-income white demographic, which my daughter is not a member of), yet she stood by her convictions, insisting on making intelligent observations and asking uncomfortable questions. This election left her disillusioned by both sides of the battle — one side who voted for a bigger piece of the free pie and the other side who didn’t seem to care enough to stand up for themselves and say no. Of course it’s all much more complex than that, but there is some validity to her simplified perception.

Will caring twice as much be enough when even many members of the “rich” (of all ages) who are the ones pegged to pay for the freebies aren’t interested in understanding the realities?

Good article and to the heart of how our young people have succumbed to the “now” generation and the attractiveness and excitement of “instant gratification”. We have to accept that the country is in trouble as we are seeing the “product” of our academia “brainwashing” and entertainment industry role model creation that has facilitated the creation of millions of young Americans who see the country fom a totally different perspective then my generation (post WWII).

The idea that we reap from the seeds we plant keeps coming up as I contemplate how we suddenly wake up to what America has become. Has our generation been too generous and easy on our kids? Have we been more into creating wealth for ourselves and sharing that with our kids and not enough into educating and helping our children learn how to take care of themselves and become independent?

The liberals in this country have gradually taken control of the academic and public media arenas in our country and used these arenas to undermine the traditional American mindset of individual freedom and independence and, as a result, has moved our culture strongly toward the “collective” mentality and socialism. Our kids graduate from college with a socialist anti-capitalist mindset due to the liberal environment that dominates our higher education environment.

Mitt Romney should have won this election going away, and would have 8 years ago…but did not, and that begs the question as to if a conservative and traditional American can win a national election ever again. Maybe we have reached that tipping point where the liberal socialist policies have finally won over our traditional capitalistic foundations that made America the envy of the world. Maybe this is the beginning of the end of the American dynasty in the history of the world. Maybe our best years are behind us.

I believe that future Chinese historians will recognize the re-election of Obama as the end of the United States, although this result could have been predicted a lot earlier. The war in Israel, which just started, is a potential start of World War III. This war is also a result of Obama’s policies. Remember, the same Obama who won the Nobel Peace Prize for solving the problems in the middle east.
