Napolitano: Four More Unsettling Years

By Andrew P. Napolitano

Only in America can a president who inherits a deep recession and whose policies have actually made the effects of that recession worse get re-elected. Only in America can a president who wants the bureaucrats who can't run the Post Office to micromanage the administration of every American's health care get re-elected. Only in America can a president who kills Americans overseas who have never been charged or convicted of a crime get re-elected. And only in America can a president who borrowed and spent more than $5 trillion in fewer than four years, plans to repay none of it and promises to borrow another $5 trillion in his second term get re-elected.

What's going on here?

What is going on is the present-day proof of the truism observed by Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, who rarely agreed on anything in public: When the voters recognize that the public treasury has become a public trough, they will send to Washington not persons who will promote self-reliance and foster an atmosphere of prosperity, but rather those who will give away the most cash and thereby create dependency. This is an attitude that, though present in some localities in the colonial era, was created at the federal level by Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt, magnified by FDR, enhanced by LBJ, and eventually joined in by all modern-day Democrats and most contemporary Republicans.

Mitt Romney is one of those Republicans. He is no opponent of federal entitlements, and he basically promised to keep them where they are. Where they are is a cost to taxpayers of about $1.7 trillion a year. Under President Obama, however, the costs have actually increased, and so have the numbers of those who now receive them. Half of the country knows this, and so it has gleefully sent Obama back to office so he can send them more federal cash taken from the other half.

It is fair to say that Obama is the least skilled and least effective American president since Jimmy Carter, but he is far more menacing. His every instinct is toward the central planning of the economy and the federal regulation of private behavior. He has no interest in protecting American government employees in harm's way in Libya, and he never admits he has been wrong about anything. Though he took an oath to uphold the Constitution, he treats it as a mere guideline, whose grand principles intended to guarantee personal liberty and a diffusion of power can be twisted and compromised to suit his purposes. He rejects the most fundamental of American values -- that our rights come from our Creator, and not from the government. His rejection of that leads him to an expansive view of the federal government, which permits it, and thus him, to right any wrong, to regulate any behavior and to tax any event, whether authorized by the Constitution or not, and to subordinate the individual to the state at every turn.

As a practical matter, we are in for very difficult times during Obama's second term. Obamacare is now here to stay; so, no matter who you are or how you pay your medical bills, federal bureaucrats will direct your physicians in their treatment of you, and they will see your medical records. As well, Obama is committed to raising the debt of the federal government to $20 trillion. So, if the Republican-controlled House of Representatives goes along with this, as it did during Obama's first term, the cost will be close to $1 trillion in interest payments every year. As well, everyone's taxes will go up on New Year's Day, as the Bush-era tax cuts will expire then. The progressive vision of a populace dependent on a central government and a European-style welfare state is now at hand.

Though I argued during the campaign that this election was a Hobson's choice between big government and bigger government, and that regrettably it addressed how much private wealth the feds should seize and redistribute and how much private behavior they should regulate, rather than whether the Constitution permits them to do so, and though I have argued that we have really one political party whose two branches mirror each other's wishes for war and power, it is unsettling to find Obama back in the White House for another four years. That sinking feeling comes from the knowledge that he is free from the need to keep an eye on the electorate, and from the terrible thought that he may be the authoritarian we have all known and feared would visit us one day and crush our personal freedoms.

“from the terrible thought that he may be the authoritarian”

Do not see that as some thing in doubt. This stems from their view of humanitarian efforts, of thinking they know best how everyone else should spend their money and time.

The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’

Good afternoon slaves! Yes this is what the American people have done. So, what do we know will happen?

      1) Taxes will go up on everyone, not just the 1%.

      2) Obamacare will not be repealed, it will be fully implemented. This is another reason that taxes will go up on everyone (remember what John Roberts taught us, it’s not a mandate, it’s a tax).

      3. Government bureaucrats will determine who gets what health care treatment and when (if the survive long enough for the decision to finally be made in their favor).

      4. Even more boots on the throat of business regulations will be promulgated by this re-elected administration, thus continuing to choke the life out of this economy and rapidly relegating the United States to the status of a third world country.

The sad truth is we get the government we deserve. The American people have rejected the Creator God. We will reap what we have sowed. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

It’s just as true for nations as it is for individuals. You always reap what you sowed. You always reap after you’ve sowed. And, you always reap more than you sowed.

      Best get prepared Amerika!

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

The just shall live by faith.

The American self sustaining wealth creators have had it with the social parasites that dwell within the Democrat party of destruction,,,,look at the stock markets fools,,,we are pulling our money out and stuffing our matresses until the social disease of tax, spend and resitribute runs its course. We do not need your F’n government and when those who do see how fast it goes bankrupt without us, we will just laugh to see how impotent your Democrat Gods are in relieving your suffering with no more of our hard earned wealth left to redistribute,,,go ahead you parasites and feed off your self,,,,hope yo enjoy the taste of a Barney Frankfurter topped with Bill Clinton’s mayonaise, on that blue stained blue state dress of yours.

I am so disappointed, I hardly know where to start. Several contributors to this forum and a number of outsiders had picked Romney to win—I gather that was based upon wishful thinking.

Due to my belief that the system as it is is corrupt and in need of repair, I never voted until the Obama-McCain campaign. I recognized the seriousness of an elected Obama right away. The little guy’s vote is of little importance any more regardless of what proponents of exercising one’s right to vote may say. With large lobby groups such as unions practically able to buy an election, a slanted and very biased Media, a large pool of incompetent voters who have no understanding of the issues, the prevalence of voter fraud—how can a popular vote matter? It’s no longer the voice of the people—it’s the power of the deep pockets and the uneducated. I feel that I did no service whatsoever by voting in either election—and I am so bitter about this, I don’t know if I ever will again.

There is nothing good to say about Obama—nor is there anything good to say about the people who put him back in office. What were they looking at? What evidence of accomplishment did they see?? He is incompetent, smug, and arrogant. He doesn’t even care for the country he is supposed to be leading.

I cannot count the times impeachment was brought up on this forum and Obama has certainly committed impeachable offenses—not only does he not get impeached—he gets re-elected! All of these people and groups who were supposed to be disenchanted with him—did they just not vote or is it just not that many of them in the first place?? He has ticked off so many and he couldn’t possibly have a chance—really??

This is disheartening—so disheartening. Is it worth the effort to even try any more?

I, too, am so disappointed with the American people. I couldn’t see how it could even be close. Who could vote for this guy again, I thought. If you were a business owner you couldn’t vote for this guy. If you were a true Christian you couldn’t vote for this guy. If you were a service-man you couldn’t vote for this guy, could you? If you worked in the energy sector you couldn’t vote for this guy. If you were a patriot you couldn’t vote for this guy. If you were trying to live in this economy you couldn’t vote for this guy. I figured this stinking BO had pissed so many groups off and had shown his true odor so many times that he didn’t have a chance. How did this happen? How can even HALF of the populace vote for him again? You hear every reason imaginable, from talking heads to GOPUSA commenters, but it still defies explanation in my eyes except this one. As ptbaa says, America is being judged! I have seen this country, in my 63 short years on this planet, go from recognizing God as our Lord and Creator in all our schools, with little tots singing praises to His Son at Christmas time (such fond old memories) to where you can’t even whisper Christ’s name in the hallways of our schools. And the higher up you go in education, the more you are indoctrinated into Atheism. (I’m a retired prof. I hate to admit). America has allowed God to be removed from all aspects of our society. We have allowed our “government” to lead us AWAY from Him in our courts, and we have allowed our “pastors” to lead us away from Him in our churches in favor of riches and good feelings about ourselves. Yeah, go ahead and blame the Tea Party, you idiots. Because anything or anyone that stands up for God, in our politics or in our lives, is going to be blamed for our downfall, rather than our own stupidity about the matter. AMERICA IS BEING JUDGED! God has tried to give us several warnings and chances to turn back to Him, this last election the LAST ONE. We, as a country failed. Millions of us have never left Him, millions of others have turned back to Him, and millions of others are newly found, but in this country, now anyway, we can’t outweigh the balance anymore. The rain falls on the just and the unjust alike. We will all taste of America’s judgement. It is going to be terrible. More terrible than we can imagine. It was God’s will that allowed BO to keep stinking this country up. And its no surprise. It was prohesied. Oh now you guys don’t jump yourselves into tight little underwear bundles, I’m not talking about in the Bible (although once a person realizes that old Israel and America are the same, identical stories spaced thousands of years apart he knows THOSE prophesies apply to America also). I’m talking about our country’s original founding fathers. If only we taught History anymore.

John Galt is a fictional character in Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged (1957). Although he is not identified by name until the last third of the novel, he is the object of its often-repeated question “Who is John Galt?” and of the quest to discover the answer.

As the plot unfolds, Galt is acknowledged to be a creator, philosopher, and inventor who symbolizes the power and glory of the human mind. He serves as a principled counterpoint to the collectivist social and economic structure depicted in the novel. The depiction portrays a society based on oppressive bureaucratic functionaries and a culture that embraces stifling mediocrity and egalitarianism, which the novel associates with socialistic idealism.

I have said and known for quite some time that this election was about our freedom. The country has just thrown those freedoms to the side for empty, unsustainable promises (of food stamps, “blocks of cheese,” etc…) The founders and the many who have died and suffered for our freedoms would have never believed it. I cannot believe it.

THIS is THE day that will live in infamy.

There were also something like 20,000+ military personnel not allowed to vote. I don;t know the exact number because it has not been reported. But why do we always sit back and do nothing until it is time to vote. I would suggest we stay active and organize, or is that all the power we have, to vote, and once we vote we have no say or power after we vote?

Just pull your money out and sit on it, let the weak and incompetent reap the rewards of what they sow. Give them as little as possible to tax. Let those on the government drugs be starved by a government WE starve, that parasitic collective of the weak who cannot feed off us the strong unless we are willing. and I for one have lost the will to continue to be the host of people who are dumber than Tape worms who even they have enough sense not to kill the very thing they feed upon. Well they get nothing from me already, because I own a business in Sharm el Sheikh and I earn foreign income. But it is a good plan. I was in Cairo yesterday, to renew my passport, and they had a huge crowd there to vote, and I saw out of hundreds, only 1 or 2 native born Americans, the rest all native Egyptians who don;t even live in the States because they are too poor to move or live there, and all votes from Egypt have to be going to Obama. Most of the voters here are very politically ignorant and have no experience voting. How else do you think they allowed the Muslim brotherhood to get elected? Now that I know very well how it works here, I can’t see it is any different in the States. All you have to do is keep the people busy spinning the media about something stupid so they pay no attention to what your really doing! Obama only won because he knows how to spin the media and keep the people busy about small things.

I totally relate to this article and am still shell shocked that the country could elect such a person. I have to say that more than anything I just want to believe he won by fraud because the alternative, that the majority of voters didn’t care about these things is unbelievably frightening to me.
Now that Obama is back in I fear that he is here to stay. I would be very surprised to ever see a fair, free constitutional election again, if one at all. I guess this was inevitable. No great country can last forever but I had hoped to be long gone before it happened.

It might be pessimistic, but sadly, I fear it is accurate. I also find it scary and profoundly depressing that fools and idiots are apparently the majority in this country. It MUST be true–how else could this *** win a SECOND TERM to finish the job of destroying our country?

I heard his conciliatory speech last night, and deem it to be mostly LIES, like everything else he says. It’s a pretty sad day when those who only expect the government to obey its own laws and abide by the Constitution are labeled “extremists” and “haters” and the rest of the country believes it. I don’t see much hope for changing anything, and don’t plan to spend much time trying. What’s the point?

      As defined by you

      This is what must change

It can ONLY result in one of two outcomes. A race to the extreme so as to avoid being negatively labelled or abandonment by those who find the extreme view untenable, and consciously offensive and objectionable.

This is based on the assumption the GOP wants to build rather than alienate. Ronald Reagan got elected by sticking to his guns on principle and horse trading on the rest

So lets try this again, clearly state your position and why views contrary to it should be considered as hating America

Who knows I might agree, but just passing judgment (name calling) without a trial is anti-American at its very core

I gotta agree with the “nimrods” on one point, you failed to explain why you accuse them of hating America.

Let me do some CYA for you.

You folks hate America because you don’t support the consequences of an election. You have vilified the sitting President without any proof or justification. Most of your accusations are based in either making statements about what is unconstitutional that in fact are constitutional OR inserting God into your test of whether or not a person is moral. When applied to the right to govern, that is unconstitutional, and in my religion it violates the 10 Commandments.

Oh and nearly every one of you assume that if you ain’t got a job you’re a no good bum that is sucking the very life out this nation. The only sucking going on is the wealthy sucking away my tiny nest egg and I am sure the nest egg that nearly everyone here had. The poor are not the problem.

As for constitutional, Obama is wiping his a$$ with the constitution (Ted Nugent said that, such as 2nd amendment and he is a liar. I have hundreds of files on my computer with videos of speeches, statements, and c-span sessions, and the recent events of Libya is a prime example. In each debate Obama lied on National television. What about him telling companies and government agencies not to announce lay offs until after the election and offering to pay the legal fees? What about him telling Medvedev he will have more flexibility while he didn’t know his mic was on. I could go on and on. And if you have a problem with God, and that is the direction America is going, then you can expect it to fall. No civilization that ever embraced homosexuality in history has survived, and it is one of the many signs of an eroding moral base. America was not built as a Godless nation. There is so much in the Bible about what is happening in America. But O ;earned a long time ago not to waste time with people like you, as my favorite quote by Jesus is “Do not cast your pearls among swine, lest they will trample them in the mud and turn again and rend you”.

And what topic would you like to chat about in this regard? Fast and Furious? Benghazi? Solyndra? We can’t even get one scandal put away because the next one hits, and its worse than the previous. Guys like you will NEVER see the truth. I’m sure you held your same beliefs when Bushy was pres, didn’t you? And do you REALLY believe that BO is concerned about our dwindling lifestyles? You DAMN IDIOT, its HIS policies that are doing it. Oh dear, I called you a name…I can’t even stand to try to figure you out anymore. I do wonder if in four years Obama will still be blaming someone else for his shortcomings. I fear we as Americans have now lost our way but hope springs eternal as there are still some of us out there that still beleive in individual acceptionalism and that we need to take personnal responsibility for ourselves and not be on the Government dole. I am troubled also by the Democrats who seem to be following blindly for the policies that have not worked and how Obama always gets his agenda done by passing by Congress and using “Executive Privilege” I can only hope that our moral fiber returns but the next four years will be a true test of our beliefs. I only hope the House of Representatives holds firm and does not let us become another Socialist Entity.

Of COURSE he will be blaming somebody else. When has that *** ever taken responsibility for ANYTHING he has done wrong? The only thing he WILL do is take credit for something somebody ELSE did, such as killing Bin Laden. And apparently he is so ashamed of that one that he is doing his best to kill off everybody who was actually involved in doing the deed.

I hope he doesn’t think we are all going to link arms and sing “Kum Bayayh” while he finishes the job of killing off his betters and destroying our country.

Yeah, like that’s going to happen. They’ve had FOUR YEARS to do that–hasn’t happened yet, has it? After Benghazi, I believe more than ever that the SOB could commit murder on the capital steps at high noon with an audience of THOUSANDS, and nobody would lift a finger to arrest him, much less prosecute him. He seems to be daily engaged in HIGH TREASON with all the means at his disposal, and the help of all the Muslim Brotherhood plants he has installed in our government, and nobody seems to care, so who is going to stop him, now that he has deluded himself into believing he has a MANDATE to continue doing what he’s been doing for the past four years, which is to up a perfectly good country.

I guess we’ll find out what Obama meant when he sent a message to Vladimir Putin that he’d be able to deal more freely with him after his re-election.

Nations go through different phases or periods in their histories. Generally from a democracy, or a republic which the United States recently was, to an oligarchy or dictatorship, the period which we are now entering. If you have doubts of that; consider the 932 executive orders issued by Obama, few of which have been challenged by either Congress, the courts, or a fawning media. A media that bears much of the responsibility for the current state of affairs, by abdicating it’s journalistic responsibilities to fairly report the truth and news, and has instead become a cheering section for Obama, and every liberal/progressive politically correct notion. Sadly, very few remain of the “Greatest Generation”, and us their children and we were unable to generate a majority in this election that might have possibly delayed the demise of our Republic.

How all of this will play out remains to be seen. One scenario would be the financial collapse of the USA brought on by unbridled government spending. A very real possibility. In the ensuing chaos, there would be a general public clamor to restore order and a semblance of life returning to normal, at which point a “leader” would step forward to take charge (Obama? the military?) promising to return to the republic when order was restored. Once this “leader” had gained power, there would be a reluctance to relinquish that power. Another possibility is that the Nation could fracture into two or three groups of “red” and “blue” countries or confederations of states. Time will tell.

Only one thing is sure: At this moment in history, this is not the United States as we once knew it. Can it be restored? By ballot? By revolution? Who can say. when one reads our founding fathers, they always gave credit to the Lord God of the universe, the Creator of all things, for the blessings of our Nation and our liberties. As a Nation we have turned our back upon God, believing that we have created this Nation and all that is in it, and believing that we are far wiser than God in knowing how to conduct ourselves, as our moral values replace His. Now we certainly seem to be reaping what we’ve sown as our liberties are being taken from us, and libertine licentious laws replace them.

You don’t like what God has to say about all this?

Worth another try to get the Truth out there!

For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.

For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.

Therefore God delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever.

This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions. For even their females exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. The males in the same way also left natural relations with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Males committed shameless acts with males and received in their own persons the appropriate penalty of their error.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong. They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.

Although they know full well God’s just sentence — that those who practice such things deserve to die — they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.

      Better get prepared Amerika!

Bravo for summing it up beautifully Judge Napolitano. I was sick to my stomach. We are not haters or racists like some of the Obama lovers would like to think we are. We are lovers of our great country, and I for one, am very concern, disheartened and stunned by the outcome of this election. With everything that has gone wrong in the four years during this man’s “reign” people still voted for him. I guess they just love being broke, down and out, jobless, happy to pay the high gas prices, love a liar, and hate success. How sad for our country when this President can’t even use the word terror in a sentence and when the muslims, communists and parts of africa are delighted that he won, what does that say? When illegals can get “freebees” and good honest, hard working citizens cannot get ahead. Our children can’t find jobs. Apparently half of the county thinks he has done a wonderful job and we are living in the “garden of eden.”
I fear it is too late and there will be a major downturn. Did you check the stockmarket today…….yeah….sad! You can deamonize Wall street all you want, but where do you think your pensions come from.

I mourned the death of my country. Then I realized a few things…God is still in control. Who knows what HIS plans may yet reveal. Maybe, just maybe, Congress will finally grow a pair, & have him arrested for his many acts of treason against this country. Maybe establishment Repubs, and advisers will FINALLY get the message that running “nice guys” simply doesn’t work. There were sooo many issues that both McCain & Romney could have come out swinging on & didn’t. Just where has the Tea Party been since 2010? They get their candidates elected…how many of those candidates can you name that held to what they were elected for? I can name only 2. Why wasn’t the Tea Party holding their feet to the fire? Why aren’t they now? Do you have the MSM network phone numbers? I do…let’s push them on their hiding of the issues, and coddling of Ovamitt.
However, regardless of the questions & the second guessing, this I KNOW…our country is the ONLY country founded on the principles of Jesus Christ. I just pray that as a nation He is not finished with us yet!

    Excellent article.
Where are those fools who were telling us what a genius Justice Roberts was to give the republicans an election issue on which to oust Obama?
Where are the fools that promised us all we needed was someone moderate enough to get a majority of the independents (no matter how much the base diliked him)?
Where are the advisors who told Romney not to go after Obama on Bengahzi in the last debate?
Ono the up-side, remember 2010. After that conservative landslide, we were ready to announce Obama DOA. The country is not lost. We need a better top of the ticket next time that gets the base out. We need to organize better on the ground to get people to the polls. We need to more clearly artuculate the resutls of freedom vs. gov’t control.
Now its time to call the republican congressional representatives of your state and tell them to defend our liberties at all costs. Get Boehner out, replace him with someone that has a spine, and dig in!

There won’t be a “next time.” Obama has nothing to lose now, and the gloves will come off. There will be no more pretense of reasonableness. What he can’t get through Congress, he’ll implement via Executive Order. Our only hope is that he will be so radical that he worries Congressional Democrats, and they arange to have him removed, one way or another. But given how radical THEY are, it’s a slim hope.

Take the money and run- hide it until the government fixes the problem. only then do they get their taxes back minus 50% of back taxes as a penalty for their stupidity and all those on the dole get theirs reduced by 75% the first month. Congratulations America, you just signed the pink slips (layoffs) for several million more Americans and added them to the public dole. You have just sent this country down the road to recession and quite likely a world depression. All for what…birth control pills, redistribution of wealth to where all wealth is gone and everyone has nothing (except those in power)? Today I am already seeing clients pull back on spending, talking about having to layoff employees, dropping health insurance for employees, terminating vendors etc…. Again, I ask, for what? For the short lived euphoria of feeling like you stuck it to everyone that has more than you? For being ignorant and selfish enough to fall for a silver tipped fork tongued devil who has stated clearly his sole intention is to turn this country into a communist/socialist state and bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator- the have-nots? Thank you, all of you stupid, selfish, ignorant, petty fools for doing what the Russians, British, Spanish, Germans could not do- bring this country down. I once said I have no problem with freedom of choice. I do have a problem with being forced to suffer the consequences of others Bad Choices. I have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of our electorate body is delusional, because only someone completely delusional could possibly vote for another four years of this regime. They do not rise to the level of being acknowledged as an “administration” – they are a regime, no different from those around the globe in other 3rd world nations. How far the mighty have fallen! Everyone needs to start putting aside food, gas, guns and ammo because you are going to need it in order to survive the destruction that is coming down the pike. Impeachment is another pie in the sky pipedream that will never happen. The Washington bureaucrats only started that process against Slick Willy when a new Republican majority came in during mid-term elections. I don’t know that we will have a luxury of waiting for mid-terms to try to impeach this president. Keep in mind that while Congress brings the charges, the trial is held in the Senate. Our best means to fight this battle remains where it has always been and will always be – on our knees before the Lord.

I think the RNC needs to step back and rethink what its role in the future of this country should be. It’s oblivious to me now that the pundits of the RP are clueless to the demographics that exist now and just second mortgaged there brand names and good reputations on this last election. You lied and BSed the rank and file just to get us out to vote. People like you, Ann coulter, Karl Rove, dumbass Dick Morris, All the talking heads on FOX, YOU SCEWED THE POOCH. I watched FOX last night, I heard O’Reilly come out and pontificate his opinion with regard to the general public and why we lost. I get it (FREE STUFF) the rest of the “dumb *****” on the set were like a deer in the headlight when he was done. Even Karl Rove set in the background and look light as to say, O’Reilly, please shut up we have to at least squeeze another 4 hours out of this gravy train. I have been a devoted Republican, but I have to say I’M DONE , I’m turning all you off, I have a life to live with whatever is left of this great nation. Do I think the OBAMA PEOPLE ARE ALL MORONS, ABSOLUTELY, but in reality you are all running a very close second place. Here’s my advice. I don;t know why you are blaming the RNC and Fox news, and not the liberal media that does half-reporting, not reporting, and hiding certain news, and a politically ignorant population. Maybe it is on both sides and yes Romney obviously failed, but Obama is very successful at spinning the media. I don’t know why you don;t blame the people who do nothing, as the demographics of the nation have changed, and the only way to get the votes of those people is to give them entitlements. Actually I don’t rely on any MSM except for basic headlines and then go to the internet for non-traditional sources to get more in-depth details and analysis. In order to have a democracy you need a stable and educated population. That is why Egypt will fail to become a stable democracy because more than 50% of the population is illiterate. US is now something like 34 or 35 in education, having a lot of immigrants and illegal aliens with low education looking for entitlements. The demographics of the country have changed. I think you are placing blame in the wrong place. But you are right, it is important, even critical, so all I can say is start being active and get involved, as things change only when people get involved in some way. Come up with solutions rather than complaints. Start watching the Congressional docket. But you need to apply some diplomacy skills. maybe here is a good place to vent. As far as I am concerned, the whole 2 party system gas to go, along with the electoral college and the entire voting process has to be changed. And also the media coverage. There has to be something better.

Well, here we are, Obama prez for another 4 yrs. ObamaCare fully implemented, Tax’s skyrocketing, inflation run rampant, riots are sure to follow. The reason I say this you may ask? The Job creators have HAD IT, we are fed up with all the regulations, tax’s, Gov’t corruption, so now all you sucking on the teat of Gov’t, W T F are you going to do when jobs once again start RUNNING out of this country, with their wealth and factory’s?. W T F are you gonna do when we refuse to support the lazy and corrupt any longer? You may think you “WON” and in a certain respect you have, you have beat us down so far that we are going to leave. You can have your Depression, self created I may add. You can have your evil, corrupt ways of Homosexuals, Abortion on demand, stealing away from those who attain wealth through hard work and perserverance. Take a look at what the Stock Market did today, get used to it, the well is drying up and we will move to greener pastures, leaving you to wallow in your own self pity. My will to succeed in this “USSA” has all been beaten out of me. Adio’s Amigios!

I have a solution for what just happened so it does not happen next time. In order to be able to vote the person MUST currently be paying Net Federal Income Taxes over $1000 in previous year Tax returns required. Then they need to pass an IQ test and then a test on the Issues at hand and where each candidate stand on the issues. No pass no go! That will put a stop to non contributing members of society dictating where we spend our hard earned money.

So, here is another one of the Republican talking heads. We need a NEW Party – not a revised Republican or a third Party – the Republicans need to go the way of the Whigs – just go away. Let us have a party of the People that believe in the Constitution.

I do not wish this on anyone but I fear there is someone out there that is mentally unstable enough and pissed off enough that he/she will make Obama and Biden both go the way of Kennedy and Lincoln…. There is far more anger and disappointment this time than 4 years ago. Perhaps it will be a bi-polar menopausal woman….oh wait that might be my sister. She has always feared the DNC has been spying on her.

As bad as things are for this country, an assassination attempt against Obama would be worse, whether successful or not. Obama is not the problem. Obama is the opportunist who happened to be at the head of the line when the opening was created (by George W. Bush). You can’t beat someone like Obama by killing him — you beat him by allowing him to fail.

Letting him fail will only drive this country under. His aim is to destroy this country them rebuild in communist/socialist model. Read his books. he lays it all out. I am just saying there is likely someone out there that will take a shot at him as they are angry and unstable.

BTW He is the problem. His goal is to break this country then remake it in the communist/social model. Read his books. he spells it out what he wants to do and he is doing just that. He is also right on track with the communist manifesto that describes the steps required to make the country collapse from within. 9 steps completed already.

Yes, but zoomzoom, you do realize that BO is not at all smart enough to have even gotten off the chicago street without help. He has been groomed for this chapter of America’s history since his early years, and I’m thinking maybe even before birth, if Davis is in fact his real sire. Nope, this is all a whole lot bigger than dumb, pliable, willing BO and has been in the works for decades.
