The current hate campaign being waged by homosexual activists against fast-food chain Chick-fil-A, because of the firm's Christian values, may well turn out to be a bridge too far. The effort may prove to be a setback for homosexual activism.
The vile attacks on the firm and its owners, the Cathy family, should make clear, finally, that the "gay rights" movement is not about refining and advancing American freedom. It is about rewriting American values and advancing not freedom, but the homosexual political agenda.
Recently, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at a flag raising ceremony in Alexandria, Egypt, noting the reopening of the American consulate there. Given the current political climate in Egypt, the secretary of state felt behooved in her remarks to highlight principles of freedom as understood by Americans.
"... to us, real democracy means that every citizen has the right to live, work and worship as they choose, whether they are man or woman, Muslim or Christian, or from any other background."
Perhaps, Secretary Clinton should be lecturing Americans instead of Egyptians.
Can it really be that in America today a businessman can be labeled a bigot, boycotted and cut off by suppliers because of the crime of being a Christian?
When Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy made his now famous incendiary admission that "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit," he was not pontificating. He was responding to a question in an interview done in a paper I expect not read by many homosexuals -- the Baptist Press.
Nevermind. It was sufficient provocation that Cathy publicly admitted the Bible defines his understanding of marriage -- the unique bond of man and woman -- which also happens to be the standard definition in dictionaries on the shelves of every American home and library.
"Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago's values," said Chicago Mayor, and former chief of staff to President Obama, Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel defended Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno's threat to deny Chick-fil-A permitting in Chicago because its owner supports traditional marriage and family.
But UCLA law professor and constitutional scholar Eugene Volokh points out in his blog that "denying a private business permits because of such speech by its owner is a blatant First Amendment violation."
The Constitution? The First Amendment? Religious liberty? Do these apply to Christians?
Volokh goes on to point out that a permit might be denied "... if [Chick-fil-A] actually discriminated in their serving or hiring decisions in Chicago in a way forbidden by Chicago or Illinois law. ... But the stories give no evidence of any such actions ..."
The fact that there is no evidence that Chick-fil-A discriminates in its business practices did not deter Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank from writing that Dan Cathy's support of traditional marriage "... implied that gay people (not to mention divorced people) had no business eating at Chick-fil-A."
One court decision after another over the last 50 years has, step by step, purged any hint of religion and traditional values from our schools and public spaces. Has it made this a fairer, better, freer nation? If you think breakdown of family, 40 percent out-of-wedlock births, a million abortions a year, $16 trillion in national debt and government dependence is better and freer, yes.
Of course, society must embrace civility, respect and tolerance. But this doesn't mean that the sexual proclivities of some should provide license to rewrite our language and the traditions that define our faith and virtue.
Hopefully, many will respond to Mike Huckabee's appeal to patronize Chick-fil-A on Aug. 1 as a display of support for traditional Christian values and as a reminder that our Constitution protects religious freedom.
Have we really gotten to the point where being a Christian is considered un-American?

Of course Chick-Fil-A’s values are not Chicago’s values, because Obama’s and Rahm Emanuel’s values are not even that of the level of a Chick-Fil-A Rooster, but a Cuckoo bird, and of course politically correct Americans are no longer allowed to discriminate against Liberal Cuckoos when hiring them at restaurants or as your political representatives.
It is amazing how GOD reveals examples of his spiritual truth in nature. Of course we have all heard of the infamous Cuckoo bird. The European Cuckoo, like the European Liberal Socialist, is an amazing bird who manages to illegitimately live off the honest legitimate efforts of others. The Mother Cuckoo is known as a “Brood Parasite” because she never builds a nest of her own but steals and appropriates the nests of other birds. When the mother Cuckoo is ready to lay her egg, she waits until another mother bird builds her nest and lays her eggs, then while the nest building mother is away hunting legitimate food for her brood, the Cuckoo hen, at the appropriate moment, flies down to the host’s nest, pushes one egg out into the nest and flies off leaving the job of raising that egg to an unsuspecting adoptive mother. The whole process takes about 10 seconds. A female may visit up to 50 nests during a breeding season. The Cuckoo lays her egg among the hatchlings of the productive nest building species. When the mother Cardinal or sparrow returns to her nest to find a strange oversized egg in her nest she wonders what is up with that? Her motherly (Christian) instinct however takes over and she hatches it with her other eggs. The Cuckoo egg hatches into a much larger bird than the attentive mother’s babies and all it wants is to be fed and fed and fed and fed.( Sound Familiar ) When the attentive mother returns with honest food, guess which baby bird gets fed, to the detriment of the legitimate hatchlings? Of Course, It is the Cuckoo. Baby Cuckoo birds have been known to methodically evict all other occupants of the nest, to grow so strong and so selfish that they actually knock and abort the other legitimate baby birds out the nest, who many times perish in the fall. It goes on and on to one of the strangest sites in nature which knowledgeable birds watchers come to witness, as the legitimate mother birds who adopted a Cuckoo, continue feeding the overgrown immature Cuckoo even though it has become four or five times larger than the adoptive mother itself.
Don’t tell me the current Democrat Party and the American nation of former American Eagles is not now infested and run by European Socialist Cuckoos, dropped into the American Political party nest when nobody was looking. These are Cuckoos who just say feed me, feed me, feed me to the detriment of the legitimate members of the American nest, and will continue to seek to take over if legitimate Americans let them. My advice to all American Eagles is to get rid of the rotten eggs that are stinking up our American nest, and kick those illegitimate Cuckoos out of our political nest once and for all in November, before the entire nation goes Cuckoo.

So why no boycotts and hate speech for Muslim businesses? Muhammad himself stated, “If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.”
Muhammad’s son-in-law Ali, ordered homosexuals to be stoned, and even had one thrown from the minaret of a mosque.
Way more severe than stating a personal opinion,”We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit.”
Again, where’s the outrage?
July 30, 2012 @ 1:26 pm
“So why no boycotts and hate speech for Muslim businesses?”
Excellent question that should be posed to the ACLU and the LGBT. I think we know the answer. Christians have been expected to be docile, submissive people who cower at the thought of offending anyone. On the other hand, Muslims are opinionated, forceful, expect people to accept their beliefs without question, and will bring severe repercussions on those who go against them.
If Christians stood united against the attacks and made it clear that they do not intend to take a back seat of evil, there would be some changes because these homosexual activists are bullies and cowards.

It doesn’t take a constitutional scholar to realize the unconstitutionality of it all, a 7th grade civics student should be able to figure it out with no trouble at all.
July 30, 2012 @ 10:02 am
Sadly, that 7th Grade student is hammered daily about HATERS, this, HATE SPEECH that, that no thinking need be done. Just trill the tongue out and point at the HATER, so the “Body Snatched” can come running.
geedee, sadly, I seldom saw a person like myself, when teaching. The LEFT had taken the teaching playing field, all to their own. It has gotten worse. Teaching, I think, is one of the Nanny State institutions. Of course, there are acceptations, but listen and cringe when Obama goes on and on about teachers. Ask yourself, why?
July 30, 2012 @ 10:09 am
Take heart, Lwesson. My son just finished 7th grade and he is an outspoken conservative. I occasionally have to remind him that he simply can’t speak to adults the way he does when he gets too passionate about what Obama is doing to our country. He refused to watch the Obama indoctrination speech when they played it at his school a couple of years back.
July 30, 2012 @ 3:26 pm
Lwesson: When you taught, did you have high acceptations for your students?
July 30, 2012 @ 4:51 pm
THE, John Locke? I thought you were long since gone.
Do you mean, a positive reception? You go in knowing, after some experience, that there will be, challenges. Like a war, a battle, you go in, hopefully in top form, most of the time, but well aware that there is no fairness in War nor Education. “What worries you, masters you.” YOU, John Locke
Naturally, at least for me, I wanted to win. I quickly dispensed with Pollyanna expectations, as they generally let you down. See worry. Actually, just went to work Mister Locke, and managed all sorts of problems, best as anyone, and better than many, as I fought, and did not “BUNKER In.” Many teachers do that, a kind of shielding process, to just get by, and not Burn Out.
Sometimes, I could look at a student’s profile. What I found, was that I mistrusted the profile dossier provider, and wanted to see, what I might be able to do, provided the circumstances at hand. The “student” that murdered someone, well, did not see him again. Blame that on bad teaching! Bad parenting, culture…, oh no. Bad teaching, bad diet, bad movies, bad something… .
One recollection, was memorable, in the bizarrely positive category. The students, each one, in a single class, were eager to learn! Rare. Sadly, rare. I knew that Rod Sterling was around. I kind of dimly recalled, what was expected of me, back when I was little, sitting in a wooden desk, saying, “yes Ma’m & yes Sir.” Those days are gone.
I know what you are driving at. You should take a tour of what is the current day student, depending on where you book “reservations for”. I would not recommend, an “Acapulco” but rather, a “Syria”. The vacation paradise is not going to show you all that much but a pin point, in a big sad map.
Cheers!
July 30, 2012 @ 5:00 pm
lwesson,
Do you suppose johnlocke could define ‘acceptations’?
I can’t decide if he meant ‘acceptance’, ‘exceptions’, or ‘expectations’.
Was the johnlocke who you thought was long gone fluent in English … or more like this one?
July 30, 2012 @ 5:18 pm
LOL! Vietnam_et. My U_W key is malfunctioning. Hard to type.
No, I figured that this was NOT anywhere near, THE John Locke coming back from the gra_e, unless somehow, he is being forced to _ote at the polls in November for someone who he would detest. Likely, holding the nose for Mitt, as things look so grim. Pretty lofty, significant person, Locke, in my book. (spell check sometimes gives me the ^.)
Acceptations, if I recall, means, the usual meaning. A bit old fashioned. I was feeling less glum, and angry, so I let it slide on a grading cur_e! None the less, what I wrote, was largely what I know, think, in a short form.
A hardy hello to you, Sir!
August 2, 2012 @ 1:50 pm
Good luck on finding a 7th student who was taught the basic liberties of our constitution. The schools were hijacked by progressive liberals who give sex education a higher priority than America Government.
July 30, 2012 @ 9:46 am
Rahm Emanual is a complete hypocrite. He invites Farrakhan with open arms to help him solve his city’s violence problems. Farrakhan feels the same way about homosexuality as most Muslims and has not been shy about voicing his opinion and using anti-gay slurs. Apparently a black Muslim can consider homosexuality a sin, but a white Christian cannot.
Also, who is Rahm Emanual to opine on Chicago values? I would bet there are some Christians in Chicago that feel the same as Dan Cathy and would appreciate being able to patronize a business with biblical values. They do make a good chicken sandwich and their waffle fries are very tasty.
July 30, 2012 @ 9:54 am
“Of course society must embrace, bla bla bla, tolerance.”
Which society Star? If this was so important, I would rather think that I would see this emblazoned as a, Banner Head, on The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence. Flipping open a book on The Founders, I would think that I would instantly find one Founder after another, championing tolerance… . NO!
This is a fatal, mental thinking disease. A kind of acceptable, mental lazy. We do not tolerate, embrace cancer do we?
Just behind the Gay Wagon, is the Man Boy Association. After we tolerate that, Bestiality (perhaps “our” military accepts this now) and why not get all cold snuggley with Necrophilia, I mean, after all, it is fully acceptable for the DEAD to put their choice, in the ballot box! Right!?
NO! We are at WAR and many do not really, fully understand this kind of conflict. Why? It is far too personal! Better to blood splat an enemy with a missile far far away, than to make a personal stand here, and say NO to GAYS, say NO to their agenda, to support a business that has a backbone.
I worked for a business that had nothing of a backbone. Oh, they paraded out that they were Republicans and other blather, but the terror of offending anyone. Funny, they had such a high turn around on employees, that they could not figure out, that such employees, shared their angst for working for an odious, ugly, business, to those, far and wide.
So, hurrah for Chick-Fil-A ! We, the Missus and I will, eat there from time to time, as we seldom do fast food.
July 30, 2012 @ 10:04 am
Moral decay of a society is nothing new. These liberals like to think they are so modern, but a quick review of history shows that they are simply repeating what has been done in every major empire shortly before its demise. The Romans embraced homosexuality near the end as did Alexander the Great. The Christian nature of our founding is the only thing that has sustained it for this long. Our own founders admitted that our form of government would only work for a moral people.
July 30, 2012 @ 10:40 am
Yes, there was a demand for a MORAL populace for the whole thing to work. In all of my edumedication, I do not recall, ONCE, being taught that! And far from this day and age that I come from.
Cicero is hilarious in his sage take on Rome. We are headed down fast, and don’t realize it for all the pretty toys, cheaply manicured lawns, and hand baskets.
Hurray for your Son, txgoatlady! And hurray to you!
July 30, 2012 @ 11:05 am
As I have oft heard it said, “Tolerance is just a word describing people that have no strength in their moral convictions”.
July 30, 2012 @ 10:01 am
If the liberals boycott Chick-fil-A, the conservatives win. They get to have a nice meal with great service without eating with a bunch of hate mungers.
July 30, 2012 @ 10:08 am
Plain and simple, the fight is not against Mr Christy. The fight they have is against almighty GOD. The GOD of the Bible. GOD has said no to the homosexuals and they don’t like it. All these politicians that have no fear of GOD will stand up and cry bigotry. If this is allowed to continue, all we are doing is awaiting GOD’s judgement on this country. GOD save us all from the evil one.

This is a prime example of how “political correctness” is ruining America. Political correctness is a term used to describe language, or behavior, which is claimed to be calculated to provide a minimum of offense, particularly to the racial, cultural, or other identity groups being described. WE, as Americans, must wake up and fight to protect our country, its values, traditions and its sovereignty. We must keep a close eye on the politicians, both federal, state and local, continue to hound them to do the right thing for this country and vote them out of office if they do not comply. We must ban together, as many have done by blogging, writing our representatives, getting involved in forums and groups, and continuing to get the word out and educating people! If we don’t we will wake up one day and not know what country we are living in! Perhaps that day is here.
July 30, 2012 @ 10:16 am
From The Origins of Political Correctness
We call it “Political Correctness.” The name originated as something of a joke, literally in a comic strip, and we tend still to think of it as only half-serious. In fact, it’s deadly serious. It is the great disease of our century, the disease that has left tens of millions of people dead in Europe, in Russia, in China, indeed around the world. It is the disease of ideology. PC is not funny. PC is deadly serious.
If we look at it analytically, if we look at it historically, we quickly find out exactly what it is. Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious.

The traditional values of this country continue to be undermined by fanatical liberal activists led by poster boys like Emmanuel, Obama, and others. Nancy Pelosi, who supposedly is a Catholic in could standing with the Church, is a perfect example of the hypocrites in our government who not only condone, but encourage/enable this minority anti-religious behavior that is allowing the “tail to wag the dog”.
Our country is basically out of control driven by this “politically correct” mentality. I actually have been so turned off by this blatant continual push of gay rights and the gay/lesbian life style onto the public. This is not mainstream human behavior but you would think it is by the amount of advocacy you see in movies, TV productions, and the like. We have arguments going on with regard to how much movies and TV instill a numbness to violence and stimulate violent behavior in our culture. What about this obsession with attempts to put gay behavior, including same sex marriage and parenting, as mainstream and those that do not buy into that lifestyle as radicals or religious zealots? Is this current continual exposure of gay lifestyles creating problems within our children’s perceptions of who they are and who they should be?
These alternative lifestyles exist and our country has acknowledged that it is OK if one decides that is for them, but to promote them so much at the expense of our Judeo-Christian value system is hurting the country. This unbridled liberal mindset that promotes a no boundary culture where anything goes while depicting Americans who believe in God as idiots and stupid (Bill Maher mindset) is undermining the country.
July 31, 2012 @ 9:23 am
Why is it that those who cite the Bible as their moral compass are so selective about their morality.
Divorce is not recognized by the Bible. Every person who is divorced is thereafter and forever an ADULTERER if they sleep with another person according to the Bible and in the eyes of God. Homosexuality is not referred to in the ten commandments but adultery most certainly is.
Whatever happened to a generous spirited christianity?
July 30, 2012 @ 10:26 am
Gays are hurting their own cause with their hate campaign. They want to be accepted but act like a bunch of fascists, which turns tolerate people against them.

The Republicans seem obtuse to me. To win an election, they should harness the voting power of Afro-americans & Hispanics who oppose sodomy & baby-murder. IMHO, the average pigmented person in the USA holds the name of the Lord Jesus in higher esteem than the average person of little pigment.
August 2, 2012 @ 11:14 am
Apparently another thing not being taught in school is that when slavery was around, it was the Democrats who wanted to keep it (although I think they went by a different party name then) and Republicans who abolished slavery. It’s why for so long, blacks were Republicans. But as this little factoid came to be taught less and less in our schools, Democrats were more easily able to start making blacks believe Republicans were against them…
More needs to be done about reminding them who was against them when slavery still existed…

The “modern/ enlightened/ progressive” way is not new. The immorality we see today is exactly what was happening in Rome and other places in ancient times around the time of Jesus. After Jesus was crucified the Apostles and the followers of Jesus, Christians, distinguished themselves by NOT acting as the pagans did. The Didache (teaching of the Apostles) was written around this time and this part II is very interesting:
1. But the second commandment of the teaching is this:
2. “Thou shalt do no murder; thou shalt not commit adultery”; thou shalt not commit sodomy; thou shalt not commit fornication; thou shalt not steal; thou shalt not use magic; thou shalt not use philtres; thou shalt not procure abortion, nor commit infanticide; “thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods”;
3. Thou shalt not commit perjury, “thou shall not bear false witness”; thou shalt not speak evil; thou shalt not bear malice.
4. Thou shalt not be double-minded nor double-tongued, for to be double-tongued is the snare of death.
5. Thy speech shall not be false nor vain, but completed in action.
6. Thou shalt not be covetous nor extortionate, nor a hypocrite, nor malignant, nor proud, thou shalt make no evil plan against thy neighbor.
7. Thou shalt hate no man; but some thou shalt reprove, and for some shalt thou pray, and some thou shalt love more then thine own life.
Yes, everyone should be treated with respect as a person but we do not have to condone their sins. Sorry, we do not have to accept the LGBT agenda as “normal”. We do not have to have our children brainwashed or be subject to harassment, intimidation or be fired for expressing our Christian views on marriage, family, abortion or contraception! Thank you Chick-Fil-A!
July 31, 2012 @ 10:44 am
Do you think that homosexuals have not been harrassed, intimidated, fired and often murdered? Usually at the hands of bible-weilding christians?
I think they are just looking for justice and fairness. That is their “agenda”!
July 31, 2012 @ 10:56 am
thinkagain – justice and fairness with regard to what exactly? Because they do something different behind their closed bedroom door? Because they want to show affection publicly without stigma? I just don’t get it when they call for equal rights. They have equal rights – they can do anything they want in private, I don’t understand why they need legislation to legitimize their differences.
July 30, 2012 @ 11:33 am
Many on the left accuse Christians of being intolerant. Therefore they WILL NOT tolerate Christians.
They think Christians have a radical belief system that is inflexible. Therefore the liberal left belief system is inflexible.
Maybe that should be the Left’s new slogan- “We Will Never Tolerate Intolerance”. Kooky…..
If you haven’t tried Chik-Fil-A’s Ice Dream Cone or Cup, have one on Wednesday, August 1st for your dessert. They remind me of snow-cream. Delicious!

Great article by Starr Parker. She is a Patriot Hero. May God Bless her and keep her safe.
In the world of Bizzarro Obama-land, the only Tolerance shown is to Muslims, Leftists and Atheists. That is because these “religions” do not take away from the False God of Government.
It is shocking that Good Christians, Jews and God Fearing people support the Marxist Obama. Obama is inherently and at his core, anti-God, anti-American, a Racist and anti-Free Enterprise.
Obama is an anathema to the American Experience and must be removed from office.
July 30, 2012 @ 12:14 pm
When man evaluates the worth of truth it becomes a matter of man controlling truth instead of truth controlling man. The absoluteness of truth is not affected by our personal opinions, conduct or feelings. This is what is happening with the challenge of God’s word and the gay agenda.
If God had changed his mind about same sex relationships in humans, dont you think HE would have changed his mind for all His ceation – animals, fish, birds, too?
HIS divine design – the only one that fits. Its an absolute truth. But for every divine design, satan has a counterfit – marriage of one man one woman versus the gay agenda.
July 30, 2012 @ 12:51 pm
These people, turn their thoughts away from any constructive association with God. They must to continue on their pathway. With that, you see their furious anger, when they are confronted with a resounding NO, to their infantile tantrums, desires, wants, and like a child, they want it all, and then some. Satan has a nice playground to work with here!
What I find beyond hilarious, is that so many, so called, self described, rational thinking people, refer to Charles Darwin, in an “intellectually” self righteous, in your face, nitwit, way. So many of these sorts, support GAY…anything. Darwin would laugh at them. He would pity them. What they really want is, Darwin Light™. Less filling, fewer thoughts, especially unpleasant, un PC thoughts. Again, another sanctimonious tool, for child like souls, to struggle with God, to be angry at his design, and his desire for the maturity of the soul. Darwin would not approve either.
Imagine, a gay dominated animal kingdom? You would be forced to imagine it! LOL!
July 30, 2012 @ 12:43 pm
There is only one group of people in this country who can pray or practice their religion how the please, when they please and where they please without fear of being stopped and harassed by the authorities. Muslims
July 30, 2012 @ 1:05 pm
The Muslims are aware of how to GAME THE SYSTEM. One, they should not be here in the first place. The Founders would be crying, to let slip loose the dogs of war out, against those who allowed Muslims in.
Second, the Muslims see how The Left aptly games the system.
One element of The System, is to use money centered MERCHANTS, against The System, Culture…, against Christians. They know that many merchants are so afraid of loosing a single customer, that they will bend into pretzels to avoid such a loss, condemning the rest of us to be, “tolerant” to obey. And sadly, we usually obey, lest we be considered badly. Oh, don’t want to be bad!
A third element is in a deadly motion. What, We the People, the Republic are as a nation, has been skillfully manipulated by forces of The Left, by Internationalists–Globalists, to being like puddy, like Widgets. Nothing special. If anything, nothing redeeming, but bad. We become a shadow People, and the Muslims, are anything but shadows. They know it, and take advantage of it.
Hopefully, there is time to wake up out of our stupor. Thank you Chick-Fil-A!

Isn’t it odd that Sandusky and all the pedophile clergy are never referred to as “gays” or “homosexuals?” A tad heavy on the PC, eh?
July 30, 2012 @ 2:50 pm
Exactly. Over 80% of the so called Pedophile cases in the Catholic Church were homosexuals abusing boys. We never hear this in the news, do we? This same sickness has infected all aspects of society. Homosexuality was listed as a mental illness until around 1970 or so. It still is a mental problem and should be treated as such.
July 30, 2012 @ 4:50 pm
“Isn’t it odd that Sandusky and all the pedophile clergy are never referred to as “gays” or “homosexuals?” A tad heavy on the PC, eh?”
Yeah, about as odd as that the male teachers, priests, and family members who abuse young girls are never referred to as “straights” or “heterosexuals.” Is that PC, too?
Unfortunately, pedophilia is found in some disturbed persons, regardless of sexual orientation. Like rape, it’s often more about exercising power than about sex.
Only Jerry Sandusky, if he ever chooses to do so, can explain what were his motivations. In the meantime, we’ll just have to settle for what we do know about him for sure: he’s a traditional-marriage, Christian-churchgoing, registered Centre County Republican. Sad, but true. Sick people exist in all groups, not just those that we don’t like.
July 31, 2012 @ 7:54 am
Making love to the sewer pipe of another human being is pathological whether it is done Man to man or man to boy. Making love to the proper designed sexual organ of a child is pathological when done to a child but normal when done to an adult. This is where the gay argument becomes specious. Gay is always pathological and unnatural under ANY circumstances and when followed and accepted as normal by any society eventually leads to its destruction as these societies soon fail to reproduce themselves in their non-productive pursuit of pleasure over productivity.
July 31, 2012 @ 1:22 pm
inluminatuo,
Most of the same-sex couples who have been issued marriage licenses are female couples. So why your obsession with gay men and sewer pipes? I’m sure you’re aware that there’s a lot more sewer pipe activity going on between opposite-sex couples than same-sex couples. Would you deny those people marriage licenses, too?
I don’t think any heterosexual couples I know would reduce their loving relationships to nothing more than sex. Neither do gay couples. Why is it so hard for you to acknowledge that two people of the same gender could love each other and want to share their lives together? Is it your belief that same-sex couples are all celibate and just seeking marriage licenses so they can become sexually involved? How ridiculous.
It’s also bizarre how you suggest that extending marriage rights to same-sex couples will somehow turn our society gay, based on your assumption that same-sex activity is more “pleasurable” and will become preferred by most people. Only a small minority of people are gay, and that number won’t be affected one iota by whether couples are issued marriage licenses or not.

This is no doubt a war against Christianity and our religious values propagated by Obama, liberal judges, liberal media and Groups such as ACLU and Freedom From Religion and more recently by the Homosexuals agenda.
This is destroying our culture and moral values of America and religious groups need to take a strong stand before it gets worse. All Cathy did was to state his views on traditional marriage as it relates to his Christian beliefs.

With a few exceptions above, there seems to be a lot of hate among so-called Christians instead of love. Christians and christianity have done a lot of good but also at times claiming to be good where some of us could be sadden. These comments as well as that of the elegant Star could probably switch words from gay or homosexual to other words and other times. Like those love christians who burned women to the stake in New England. Or those christians who fought tooth and nail to keep women from voting. And of course the sad history where the lovely christian KKK enjoyed hanging people different from them and not to long ago when I lived in the South, many State laws prohibited people of different races from legally marrying. I believe I heard comments that it was against Gods will and his law that marriage should not be of mixed race. We have come a long ways but still have further to go in my opinion to get by the screaming on both sides of the issue. Perhaps a gentle human side would be better. Lastly, as I recall, the Mormon religion for a long time excluded blacks from becoming Mormon for some reason in their past that I don’t recall.

“With a few exceptions above, there seems to be a lot of hate among so-called Christians instead of love.”
Why is it that Christians are always accused of “hate” when they express their beliefs? You have given a lot of examples blaming Christians for all the wrongs in this nation, so would it be safe to assume that you “hate” Christians?
“Lastly, as I recall, the Mormon religion for a long time excluded blacks from becoming Mormon for some reason in their past that I don’t recall.”
If you don’t recall the reason, why make the accusation anyway? There are a lot of non-Christian groups who have committed horrible atrocities against other groups and yet you don’t print an indictment against any of them. You blame Christians for the KKK, but you could just as easily blame the Masonic Order because they were very adamant about keeping blacks out of their organization. Why don’t you accuse some Muslims for their “hate” and intolerance against Christians and Jews as well as anyone who refuses to accept their religion? Why don’t you make accusation against many of the pro-illegal immigration amnesty groups who obviously have a “hatred” for America by insisting that we be overrun by illegal aliens? Why don’t you accuse the ACLU of “hatred” because they have make it their top priority to remove any symbol of Christianity from our society yet they never attack Muslims for their blocking streets to pray in public and demand that schools and work places make special concessions to accommodate them?
I haven’t made any hateful remarks here — I have just asked a few simple questions. So are you going to accuse me of hate because I expressed opinions about Muslims, the ACLU, and illegal aliens?

How dare you compare Christians to non-Christians. The body count is rising (Syria) as we speak.
Communist Body Count: 149,469,610 and climbing! (2006 stats)
Here’s the stats on two countries alone:
Country
1 People’s Republic of China
Body Count: 73,237,000
1949-Present (57+ years and counting)
R.J. Rummel originally estimated China’s body count between between the years of 1949-1987 to be 35,236,000 (Rummel 1994). This excluded 38,000,000 million that died of famine during the Great Leap Forward. After the release of Mao: The Unknown Story, Rummel became convinced that the Chinese government was directly responsible for the famine, thus increasing his original estimate by 38,000,000 (Rummel 2005). 1,000 was added for Tienanmen Square in 1989 (Courtois 1999).
2 USSR Flag Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Body Count: 58,627,000
1922-1991 (69 years)
That doesn’t even count the Muslims who tried to take over the world by force from 600 AD to 1400 AD to Now!
Go get educated, please!

Wathen, most of your arguments and examples above are examples of people, even Christians who acted in a manner against the laws of God and reflect the problems societies get themselves into when they engage in such behavior,,,,,,,,like engaging in self-destructive homosexual behavior which demeans the human body in activities it was never designed to be engaged in and defiles the human temple which is their body. Holy spirits cannot dwell in unclean temples, which explains the reasons why homosexuals are unable to figure this out. Nature abhors a vacuum, and the very thing (liberal Insanity based on the edification and pleasuring of the god of Self) that always comes into them to dwell in and fill the vacuum of the temple now keeps muddying up the body and the brain.
Stating the truth about homosexuality and defining it as hate, is only the reflection of the self-hate such behavior inculcates in the spirit of people that engage in such behavior. When your child is caught fondling the private parts of another child of the same sex,,,,,to describe the action as unsavory is not hate, just the description of a homosexual course in basic training. When straight people engage in such behavior or same sex adultery their fellow Christians face the same sex condemnation.

The KKK had nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with Democrat beliefs. Robert Byrd, Senate Democrat for decades was a recruiter for the Klan. He only died a few years ago and is still revered by Democrats! Get it straight! First that Party enslaved black people and then when the Republicans freed them, they further enslaved them by doling out freebies for their votes and most have been on the plantation ever since, enticed by more and more government subsidies. Star is one of the few who figured it out for herself. You should be ashamed!
Why do you haters of Christians keep saying we’re the haters. Is it necessary to hate someone because you believe what they do is immoral? And that we push back against those who condemn us as a group yet try to get our imprimatur on their way of life. You may browbeat and try to shame Christians for their beliefs but most keep their own beliefs and clam up about it.
“You do,” as Ronald Reagan said, “believe so many things that aren’t true.” Please research some of the things you post before posting them.
The Democrats were the ones to throw roadblock after roadblock up in front of women, the president at the time of the suffrage for women movement being Woodrow Wilson, well-known sexist and racist.
I’ll bet you’re not purring in your corner with smug self-satisfaction right now, are you?
LOOK IT UP, YOU PURVEYORS OF LIES!
Some things can be laid at the doorstep of Christians but the majority of what you typed is simply lies that you want to believe, not that they’re true!

One can only laugh at Star Parker. The description of a purveyor of artery-clogging fried foods as a “Christian business” is beyond ridiculous. As I recall, Jesus served whole-grain loaves and healthy fishes, which would be a lot more Christian to sell than fried chicken and waffle fries. Sadly, Chick-fil-A is insuring that Americans will need more and more budget-busting Obamacare in the future for their heart disease and diabetes.
Mr. Cathy is a self-righteous Pharisee who likes to pat himself on the back publicly for being married to his “first wife.” (Sorry about that, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, Bob Dole, and Mitch McConnell.) He’s more than welcome to spend his money on whatever he chooses, but he’ll have to endure the criticism that comes with it.
Star Parker pretends that “Christians” are all opposed to marriage rights for same-sex couples, but we all know the truth is that there is a diversity of opinions among different Christian denominations and active debate within many major Christian faiths.

“..we all know the truth is that there is a diversity of opinions among different Christian denominations and active debate within many major Christian faiths.”
And is there a ‘diversity of opinions’ among Jews and/or Muslims? No? Is that why homo’s aren’t attacking them? Or is it because they don’t know anything about them? Or is it because homos are scared of taking them on? There certainly would be repercussions from the Muslims!

“The description of a purveyor of artery-clogging fried foods as a “Christian business” is beyond ridiculous.”
But you’re OK with other fast food joints such as McDonalds, Wendy’s, Arby’s, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and a host of other companies because they promote and donate to homosexual activists?
“Star Parker pretends that “Christians” are all opposed to marriage rights for same-sex couples, but we all know the truth is that there is a diversity of opinions among different Christian denominations and active debate within many major Christian faiths.”
Any church that refers to itself as “Christian” and promotes the homosexual lifestyle, ordaining homosexuals as ministers, and approving of same-sex marriage is violating the Scriptures that they claim to believe and rebelling against their own God, so they should re-examine their claim of being Christian churches.

Hi bna42,
I have never seen a magazine interview from any CEO of McDonald’s, Arby’s, Wendy’s, Pepsi, or Coca-Cola arrogantly pretending that their company is God’s Chosen Business in over-the-top language that is calculated to offend millions of people. Most intelligent business executives know that it’s usually a long-term loser to make your business a focus of controversy, regardless of your point of view. That usually goes double for religious controversy in a pluralistic country like ours.
And, since you asked, no, I’m not OK with any of these businesses, because most of what they sell is unhealthy to consume. If we’re serious about reducing government spending on healthcare, we all need to make better dietary choices rather than promote greasy junk food like Waffle Fries (520 calories with 27 grams of fat).
