Brown: Time to Declare a War on Stupid

By Susan Stamper Brown

America is not the "social issue fixer-upper in disrepair" Progressives make her out to be. Instead, America is the "world's last great hope," and will continue to be, just as soon as we are able to get our head above the water economically.

The wave upon wave of "wars" on race, women, class and now gay marriage -- were devised to sink this magnificent "city on a shining hill" into the depths of the sea and replace her with a European-style socialistic utopian theme park I affectionately call "Progressive World."

Progressives, there is a much simpler way to get to that happy place filled with e-ticket rides and no work: Hop on a plane to Greece and send us a postcard to let us know how it's working out for you.

God bless them, it seems Progressives honestly thought the sun, moon, and planets had lined up just for them that magical Greek column-themed Inauguration night in 2009 when Democrats owned Washington.

President Obama and Democrats had two years to do something about gay marriage, if they wanted to. Instead, the president waited to make his "public service announcement" until now. Obama made no promises; he simply stated his opinion. The shrewd politician he is, Obama understood the power of words and threw out a few to rally his base and raise Hollywood big-dollar campaign donations -- which goes to show you intelligence is not a prerequisite for fame.

Rally, he did; within days, Newsweek canonized Obama as America's "First Gay President," and plastered his face on their front page, rainbow flag colored halo and all. I shall bite my tongue here for further comment, and leave the editorializing to readers.

Especially during these days of pending economic ruin, the "war" on gay marriage is a waste of time. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that as long as gays stay within the same legal boundaries we are all bound to; they can do whatever they want behind closed doors. It's their business. I'm sure the GOP would be happy to accommodate them with reasonable things like hospital visitation rights. Sexual activity is between an individual, God, and the fly on the wall and has nothing to do with civil rights.

Conservatives must sit this one out and let nature take its course. If liberal men marry men and liberal women marry women and those who want to abort their babies do so, it won't be long before liberals will "social right" themselves out of existence. In this case, patience is a virtue conservatives should wholeheartedly embrace.

Meanwhile, our ship is sinking, and Democrats are dressing themselves for dinner.

Focusing on non-issues intended to pit Americans against each other rather than acknowledging the iceberg we're about to crash into was an exercise in futility. How far this one, who once promised to bind us together, has fallen.

It truly is "still about the economy, stupid." Maybe someone needs to declare a war on "stupid."

Knowing Newsweek’s propensity for putting out stupid covers on its magazine, I’m surprised they didn’t go with “We are all gays now”.

He is the one that said, “You can’t fix stupid…” Hope he gives you tickets.

A war on Stupid would wipe out nearly half the House of Representatives; over half the Senate, and completely gut the Executive Branch. The bad thing about Stupid is that it breeds so handily and can infest even into the populace.

A war on Stupid dooms nearly half of America and two thirds of the world.

There is no such thing as “Civil Rights” – it is a make believe Progressive term that is defined as ‘the ideal that allows whiners to define new ‘rights’ at their whim.’

All we need to do is go back to defending Constitutional Rights and all of these newly make believe issues go away.

@AKAHR50: “There is no such thing as ‘Civil Rights’”

What about the Civil Rights enshrined in our very own Bill of Rights? Freedom of speech, religion, bearing arms are ALL off the table according to you?

This is where I get REALLY scared: So-called conservatives baying for the abolition of the basic civil rights our Founders were honor-bound to preserve. I know, I KNOW, “President” Soetoro IS an “obamination,” but let’s not abandon our basic principles solely in the service of toppling his administration.

Even the best of ends DO NOT justify totalitarian means.

The campaign issues have been watered down with issues concerning gay ‘rights’, and with democrats accusing GOP withwar on women over contraception issues. Democrats have wisely made these as priority issues to divert away from the real problems and issues facing us.

The ‘real’ priority issues should be focused with the economy, jobs, housing market, government spending and massive debt, Obamacare, war on terrorism and illegal immigration and defending our Constitution. Obama has made a mess of these issues, so they are trying to divert attention from them.

If Obama is re-elected this November it would lead to more government controls, more spending, increased taxes, more entitlements given to the illegals and welfare recipients and a further decline in our country’s religious, family and education institutions.

You are correct in that this administration has made a mess of all the important issues, but, do you really think that this has been done due to lack of intelligence? I do not think so.
This administration has an agenda. That agenda has nothing to do with actually fixing anything. That agenda is to as Susan Brown said,…. to sink this magnificent “city on a shining hill” into the depths of the sea and replace her with a European-style socialistic utopian theme park I affectionately call “Progressive World.”, that is what this administration is trying to do to this country and save for an election in November, is almost there. Just a single case in point….”What would happen to the Constitution should obama have the ability and opportunity to replace three (3) Supreme Court Justices?” The answer is obvious.
It’s true that you cannot fix stupid but you sure as hell can get rid of stupid in hopes of replacing it with a higher life form. If that life form doesn’t prove to be high enough, do it again until we get it right.
Personally speaking, I am sick and tired of watching the retirement I worked so damn hard to get shrink daily. I am tired of watching these so called elected officials sit on their hands while sticking to future generations of Americans who will have to pay for all this stupidity. This President, this obama, is, by far, the most ignorant, superficial, and dangerous President we have ever had.

The only concern I have is that forty-some percent of voters still believe this faux President is doing a commendable job. What does it take for some people to see the light? Last night I saw two black clergy actually extolling Obama’s virtues despite his views on gay marriage. Amazing. Americans, just keep quiet and let the libs bury themselves.

One can only hope Romney doesn’t fall into this trap, and insists the debates be about real issues and real mistakes such as the billions wasted on soon-to-be-bankrupt “Green” industries. I should think, astute businessman that he is, Romney ought to be able to explain to the television audience exactly why those were bonehead investments of taxpayer money that anyone who could run a lemonade stand would not have made.

Not that I disagree…but I have to say that it is “stupid” for us “economically intelligent” NOT to realize that the strength of our past came from Christianity. It is the Christian faith that set the cornerstone of this economy, and it is the understanding that work is good, a blessing.

Denying people work (i.e. welfare system) is a slam against their God given dignity, and to make fun of them (as this website does sometimes) makes it worse.

What can we do to help our kids understand the joy that work can give?

Please, Obama, no speech on this topic. Apparantly he only wants to help college kids not have to work until they’re 40, until which time they can collect welfare so as not to pay off their ridiculous college debt.

Work is good. It gives a sense of fulfillment and hope, because that is how God is. Look at the first chapter of Genesis….God worked.

Anyway…back to my point. Our “side” focuses on the “fiscally conservative”, instead of the “morally conservative”, this website including.

They are one and the same.

The MC CANNOT separate from the FC ,because of the natural law of subsidarity.(means we believe that all law belongs at the lowest level of government…ie the family)

The FC can and DO separate from the MC. Lots of comments on this site prove it. I don’t think that the FC only have really thought their position through.

The MC’s understand a bigger picture. A picture in where EVERYONE wins, even those dang-gum democrats.

Let’s ALL pray tonight for a return of the real America, the one that GOD founded, with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL!

May God bless everyone tonight! _m

I agree with the article, but I don’t agree that we should sit this out.

Please check out the website MassResistance. This is a group in Massachusetts that has to deal with the cold, hard reality of what same-sex marriage has done to that state. It is really enlightening to see how terrible Massachusetts has become in light of their legalization of these unions. The gay activists are incredibly aggressive, and it is a nightmare scenario, particularly for children in public schools and their families.
If you want to get informed on the reality of how it is in that state, please see the website of these courageous people, who stare into the face of the beast, every day.

There is a link on the right, a helpful article titled something like “What happens to a state that legalizes gay marriage”. You will find facts, not conjecture, about exactly what is happening in Massachusetts in schools right now. This is very relevant for today, when you need something to back up your opinion at times. You can use real experiences instead of guessing what would happen.
God bless everyone involved in this struggle. Don’t sit back. That’s what the gay activists want, and it would be the worst thing. Stay engaged in this battle, pray, and steadily stay in it. If we all go home, game over.

I agree. We can’t sit this one out. Unfortunately we’ve been sitting on the sidelines too long as it is which is why the homosexual movement has made as much progress as it has. How long before it’s a hate crime to disagree with them? How long before churches who believe homosexual acts are wrong are forced to perform gay marriages? These things are already happening in Canada and other places, which means unless we stand up for our own rights, they will soon be stifled to make way for the noisy minority.

I also agree. Remember ALL the blogs in 2008 encouraging us to “sit this one out”? Numerous posters, claiming to be conservative, argued that if the US was to go down they would rather have a demoncrap at the helm responsible for it. Remember? They sure as heck got their weish.

Let the dhimmies sit this one out. All of us conservatives need to become political activists working to rid America of the progressives and loiberals.

Also, check out their other videos about how aggressive the gay rights movement is in that state, by seeing for example, what happened recently when Tea Party folks tried to have a rally on a town green. You will be rightfully mortified when you see the bullying that went on, the disruption of a group with every right to assemble, and how the police did…nothing. The police in Massachusetts and Rhode Island have been sitting by while the Tea Party folks or the traditional family supporters are being bullied and threatened. The website National Organization for Marriage has more information about these incidents, where in Rhode Island families with small children were threatened, and the police stood by and did not help at all. We need to know how it is today.
