Salvato: A War on the Truth

By Frank Salvato

Have you heard this one? What do you call a law school co-ed who needs $1000 worth of birth control...annually? Evidently, in today’s politically correct society – a society devoid of the concept of shame – a women’s health advocate.

Two of the casualties of the Progressive Movement – the movement that gave us the unyielding mandate of “tolerance,” the one-size-fits-all prescription for forced diversity, an American citizenry who, in order to be American must divide itself up based on a multicultural edict, and the shadow set of laws known as political correctness – are truth and the capacity to state truth. The Fluke-Limbaugh faux controversy is a perfect example.

A hypothetical (which really isn’t but I need to use the disclaimer for our purposes here)...

A modern day woman, youthful to middle-aged, frequents a popular local eating and drinking establishment. She is considered a “regular” to many, and is known to the staff and to the other “regulars” who find themselves in that establishment on a more frequent basis. For the purposes of example, let’s call her Candra.

Now, Candra had a good upbringing. Her parents – upper-middle class and considered successful – were able to save enough money to put Candra through college. She graduated and landed a decent job. She works hard, her co-workers like her and her employers are glad to have her as part of the team. Candra’s philosophy about life is “I work hard, so I play hard,” and who can blame her. She’s in the prime of her life. She’s single. She’s free. So, Candra enjoys a hearty social life.

Now, Candra reaps the benefit of a society changed by the radical feminist movement of the 1960s and 1970s. She understands that she is the master of her body and that no man – and no woman – has the right to tell her what she can and cannot do with her body, but for the boundaries of legality. So, when Candra is drawn to someone – or attracted to someone, whether it is because of his looks, his banter, his station in life or (and she’s knows this is shallow, but hey, people do worse things) his money – for whatever reason, when Candra is drawn to someone she sees no reason to set personal boundaries; boundaries that have oppressed the sexuality of women through past generations. If she chooses to leave with the man, if she chooses to have sex with the man – whether under the guise of a budding relationship or just for the night – she sees no reason why anyone should deny her that opportunity...or even have an opinion about it. It is her choice. It is her right.

The people who know Candra see her leaving at the end of the evening, time after time, with different men. Some of the men return to see Candra again but many don’t. And, in the end, everyone knows that Candra has a penchant for being uninhibited where her sex life is concerned and many have identified the fact that she has many sex partners...many sex partners.

Now, politically correct or not, in those places deep within us where we foment our unedited opinions; those places that we refuse to acknowledge publicly for fear some intolerant Progressive mind thug will brandish his or her bullhorn to scream “bigot” or “sexist” or even “Conservative,” we all know that if a woman is known to have slept with a different guy every few nights, that woman is considered, by an overwhelming number of both men and women, to be “easy”...or “promiscuous”...or, more pointedly, a “slut.” I know, I know. But, all the shrieks and gasps, all the condemnation and protest over the use of the word doesn’t change the fact that “slut,” by definition means:

“...a pejorative term for a person who is deemed sexually promiscuous, dating to circa 1450.”

And, of course, we all understand “promiscuous” to mean:

“...characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, especially having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis.”

So, Candra, who – being a modern woman who is liberated of the oppression of discernment where the number of her sexual partners is concerned – is, by all matters of definition, “promiscuous,” or, if one employs the thesaurus, a “slut.”

Hypothetical over...

President Obama was correct in at least one thing that he said in the run up to his presidency: words matter. I would go so far as to say not only do words matter, but truth matters, no matter how cutting it may be.

In an article titled, In Defense of Slut-Shaming, Cassy Fiano writes:

“... is ‘slut-shaming,’ Limbaugh’s infraction, really such a horrible crime?

“Sandra Fluke is just one in a long line of pseudo-feminists celebrating their sluthood.

“Jessica Valenti, founder of Feministing, the largest feminist blog, wrote a book on it. She claimed that purity oppressed young women, not the Girls Gone Wild porn chic culture. Monica Shores, who writes for Ms. Magazine, the Huffington Post, and Alternet, made a handy little checklist of reasons why girls should have casual sex. It’s empowering! You can learn about your sexuality! Salon writer Tracy Clark-Flory wrote that casual sex is a great way to earn respect. Feminist writer and activist Jaclyn Friedman wrote a piece called “My Sluthood, Myself,” in which she opined that being a slut is “liberating” and “healing.” A blogger at Slate, specifically addressing the Limbaugh controversy, stated that Fluke’s sex positivity recharges feminism.

“But the trend goes much deeper than just a handful of feminists. Last year, SlutWalks became a worldwide craze, with feminists urging women to participate in order to revel in their sexuality and proudly reclaim the word slut. SlutWalks took place in cities across the United States, Canada, and Britain.

“And then of course, there’s the feminist preoccupation with abortion and birth control, both issues employed solely to enable a woman’s right to have sex without consequences, as much as she wants. This objective is virtually the only thing feminists care about now...Real feminist issues like, say, stoning and sharia law are rarely, if ever, touched upon....”

Wow...“casual sex is a great way to earn respect.” Unbelievable.

This is what passes for socially relevant intellectualism in today’s Progressive compliant society. By that measure, our hypothetical “Candra” should be right up there with Mother Teresa, Abigail Adams and Rosa Parks. After all, Candra’s accomplishment isn’t just that of attaining “slut” status; of bedding anyone she wants, whenever she wants, without fear of responsibility of consequence, it’s that she has achieved it without one scintilla of shame.

Now there’s a word that went out with the feminist revolution of the 1960s and 1970s...“shame.” We should all look that one up...

This is the first time I’ve heard of these “Slutwalks,” and I can hardly believe that it took place — moreover, that women would actually take part in something this gross. This isn’t freedom of speech, this is totally unacceptable and unconventional behavior. Those who allow these things to happen are even MORE culpable than these depraved women who participate.

Sodom and Gomorrah would be proud of the world we live in now, and for the first time in my life, I’m at a loss for words.

Newsjunky: Can I also assume from your disbelief in ‘slutwalks’ that you never heard of ‘lipstick’ parties for young adults who revel in their freedom to rebel? Ask around, and then really get disgusted.

I’ve heard of a lot of things but “slutwalks” are not one of them and quite frankly it doesn’t bother me to admit to that. Disbelief didn’t enter my mind, but shock and disgust did. As far as “lipstick” parties are concerned that kind of behavior has been going on for eons. However, women marching in three different countries to promote the word “****” as if it were something to be proud of is astounding as far as I’m concerned, and those who allow it are nothing short of reprobates.

P.S. I can’t understand why the word s l – t is starred out when it is written in this article.

I’m sure their taped participation in these events is a source pride that they can share with future partner’s, or children when they’re old enough to ask.

I wouldn’t doubt it. Things are so upside down these days it’s unbelievable that so many adults would accept it all — bad enough with the kids.

Everything in this column is true, with one glaring exception that Rush Limbaugh missed, along with his defenders. Miss Fluke was careful in her testimony to speak of other grad students needing contraception, that other grad students needed to spend so many dollars, etc. She did not speak of herself.

If Rush had paid attention, it was a great opportunity to talk about the entitlement mentality, about the difference between medical expenses that are small and routine vs. those that bankrupt you (and therefore about the subject of what purpose insurance serves, and how we don’t expect car insurance to pay for oil changes or even more expensive items like new tires). He could have discussed the leftist ideas of “equality” that logically lead to leftist policy ideas about the rest of us having to pay for everything that someone claims they cannot afford, etc.

Instead, Rush took this as an opportunity for s-l-u-t shaming, which it was not. There are plenty of such opportunities that are unambiguous, but which Rush never talks about. Why doesn’t Rush seize upon one of those opportunities, like the SlutWalks?

So what do we call someone who asks his wife for a divorce when she is in the hospital with cancer so he can marry the secretary he is sleeping with? Mr Speaker I guess.

More to the point. The woman you and the drug addict you choose to defend wasn’t talking about her needs for birth control medicine. She wasn’t talking about people who wanted medication to prevent pregnancy. She was talking about other women who needed the medicine for medical reasons and for this she was called a ****.

If you or Rush want to disagree with her thats fine. To call her a **** would be like calling you a member of the mafia. (based on your family name)

Says uziowner, “To call her a **** would be like calling you a member of the mafia. (based on your family name).”

      The name Salvato might prompt that meaning IF the owner participated in Mafia-like activities … like the s l u t in question participates in s l u t – t y p i c a l behavior.

If we were to describe Ms. Fluke based on her name, she would be an atypical aberration, or the tail of a whale. But, based upon her looks, I suspect her reputation is more like ‘a whale of a piece of tail’ … pierced by many harpoons.

Now, based solely on HIS name, Mr Salvato could be more comparable to Jesus Christ … you know, a ‘savior’.

****, *****, carpet muncher and such defamatory words are real words invented by real minds to aptly describe the behavior of real people. Anyone can attempt to attach the meaning of these words to your character, but only you through your actions can validate the application through your behavior. Thanks to guys like our President, the whores of yesterday are now placed on the pedestal, while the Christian women of virtue are ground in the dust as social aberrations.

Frankly I think it is Obama and his ideology which is the temporary social aberration which may flourish only as long as the people keep the self selected blinders on their eyes to avoid the reality of the destruction, but sooner or later the destruction becomes so overwhelming it can no longer be ignored. Later is quickly becoming sooner as Obama will soon find out in November.

Making war on the truth is a dangerous proposition and winning only occurs as long as the truth is denied. Sooner or later the truth always comes out and wins. Enter the Tea Party motivated Republican party of frustrated truth seekers..

uziowner, you clearly didn’t understand or weren’t told Rush’s reasoning. I guess it wasn’t in today’s talking points programming. She wanted someone to give her something because she was having sex. And she wanted others to give something, free birth control, to anyone else who wanted it too. Generous with other people’s money, like a typical liberal.

Ms. Fluke, the 30 year old liberal activist, introduced herself as a former president of the Georgetown Students For Reproductive Justice. She admitted that the school’s insurance covered contraceptives for use other than preventing pregnancy. So, your argument was defeated by Ms. Fluke herself in her original rant for Pelosi and company. I guess that wasn’t in your programming for today either. So yes, Virginia, she was advocating that someone else pay for birth control for anyone who wants it.

      http://www.theblaze.com/stories/georgetowns-policy-may-cover-contraceptives-after-all/

In 1989 Gingrich co-sponsored a bill that guaranteed free “family planning” services, including abortion, to anyone who wanted it. So he and Fluke agree on at least that much.

Only a hypocrite could support Gingrich while decrying the moral decay of our society.

Those who preach and advocate TOLERANCE are usually the ones engaging in intolerable behavior which they desperately need you to overlook or condone. That nasty inconvenient thing called truth just gets in the way so it must be abandoned to allow the intolerable behavior to proceed, bloom and assume a position of dominance as the new paradigm of truth.

Candra becomes the master of her body and the slave to her passion and promiscuity,,,,and women wonder why their sons who witness such behavior remove all women from the pedestals of admiration and just use women as the self-chosen objects they have become. Those self-proclaimed liberated women should remember that men never marry the ones they use, they marry the ones they admire. Men treasure only that which they alone can lay claim to, not the cast-offs of every aids infected syphilitic Liberal fool who has been copulating with the lowest forms of human disease. Real men do not boldly go where infected fools have gone before. It’s a recipe for physical and moral death. The self-proclaimed “Strong” women are sooooooo being laughed at behind their backs by the Liberal men who use and abuse them. Just what do these loose liberal women think their sons will think of them, let alone cherish them when he downloads a pornographic short showing mom in bed committing unnatural sex acts with the dregs of society. No wonder so many choose to hide their humanity in homosexuality, the real world is too painful to admit to, thanks to the new age world of politically correct equality where behavior no longer is to be edified, but sinks to the lowest common denominator of depravity, which just serves to breed more Liberals and Liberal insanity and Liberal Democrat degradation.

You cannot call yourself Christian and continue to vote them into office into positions of power over you, your minds or the minds of your sons and daughters. November will be the time to step up and be counted.

    Ah the Christian opinion.

As we all know thru a careful reading of our bible, when Jesus saw the crowd preparing to stone a woman of ill repute he said ” kill the ****”. This explains All these comments.

My earlier comment was that to call someone you don’t agree with a **** is a personal and unwarranted attack akin to caling l someone who has same name as a mafia family a member of the mafia.

I imagine the way you will understand the importance of civil behavior towards women who disagree with you only when your ex wife locks you out of the trailer.
