Lamb: What Happened to Freedom?

By Henry Lamb

When Constitutional scholar Barack Hussein Obama, and the assortment of legal advisors that surround him, decided that the commerce clause authorized the federal government to force private citizens to purchase a product, freedom vanished from America.

With this newly declared authority, the federal government can force its citizens to do anything the government wishes. This omnipotent power is the same power exercised by the governments of Hitler, Stalin, and all other despots who have denied freedom to their citizens.

What happened to freedom? It was erased, little by little, until we no longer have a choice among the types of light bulbs we buy. Government has dictated that its citizens can no longer buy a 40-cent incandescent light bulb; after January 1, formerly free people living in a formerly free-market system will be forced by government to buy a four-dollar light bulb, probably made in China.

People in King County Washington are no longer free to use their private property as they wish; government has dictated that its residents must leave 65-percent of their property in its natural condition. People in Orem, Utah are no longer free to water, or not water their lawn. Betty Perry’s lawn was not as green as the government thought it should be, so an enforcement officer “…dragged her sorry ass off to a holding pen,” according to press reports at the time. In Collier County Florida, people who live in designated areas south of state road 80 are not allowed to develop their land. People who live in designated areas north of the highway are free to develop their land. Collier County is truly the land of the free – if you happen to own land in a government-designated area north of state road 80.

Government says you must not smoke in public places or in many private businesses, and in some locations, not even in your own home. Government says you must wear a helmet if you ride a motorcycle. Government says you must wear seat belts in your automobile. Government says your child must be in an approved car seat if your car is moving on a public highway. These are a few examples of government-mandated behavior. If you deposit $5000 or more in cash, the government requires the bank to report it. Finally, you, or anyone, can be detained by law enforcement officers – without a warrant – upon the simple declaration that you are suspected of affiliation with terrorist activity. Is this a government-controlled society or what?

The Constitution says: citizens have the right to be “…secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects…” unless a judge, upon an “…oath or affirmation” issues a warrant.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is apparently unaware of this Constitutional guarantee. For years now, they have tried to force farmers and other animal owners to declare and identify every cow, pig, horse, chicken, and two dozen more species, and report any movement off the owner’s property to the federal government. Enormous public opposition has blocked this USDA project so far, but they are still trying to force formerly free people to report their assets to the government – without a warrant issued by a judge - as the Fourth Amendment requires.

What happened to freedom? A small group of people who believe that the rights of the community as a whole outweigh the rights of the individual, have been successful in transforming the curriculum of the public education system. They have been successful recruiting and electing candidates to public office at every level of government. And they have been successful getting judges appointed to the bench. Consequently, laws, rules, and regulations have been promulgated that give government the power to throw Betty Perry in jail for not watering her lawn, and to dictate the behavior of all of its citizens.

The belief that the rights of the community outweigh the rights of the individual is a bedrock principle of communism. The belief that government has the inherent right to dictate the behavior of its citizens is another bedrock principle of communism. The belief that government should manage the economic affairs of its citizens is directly out of the Communist Manifesto. The more the Communist Manifesto is read and understood, the more clearly one sees the transformation that has been imposed upon a formerly free people.

The transformation began long before Barack Hussein Obama. He, unfortunately, seeks to drive the final nail into the coffin of freedom. Obama, and the so-called Progressives he leads, are working diligently to expand government power and to diminish the rights of the individual, to destroy the last vestige of a free market, and to denigrate and discredit all who disagree with their communist philosophy.
Nowhere has this philosophy been delivered through local governments more effectively than through the idea of “sustainable development,” defined in Agenda 21. Sustainable development means “government-approved.” Every time the word “sustainable,” appears, replace it with the term “government-approved.” Think about it: “government-approved’ development; “government-approved” agriculture; “government-approved” communities. Sounds a lot like communism, doesn’t it?

This is what happened to freedom.

We used to only have to suffer the depredations of the Looney Liberal miscreant minds of manipulating Federal Judges whose rulings obviated the true meanings of our Constitutional Rights and Liberties with their judicial nullification and their overruling Judicial Fiats.

Now the newly empowered Socialist Executive branch, Captained by Obama would also “Boldly go where no Socialist Progressive has gone before” in their never ending quest for new spheres of American Freedoms to conquer. Obama thinks he is Captain Kirk, gaily  piloting the Socialist ship of state USS Enterprise, exploring new Socialist  worlds of Executive Social experimentation. In reality, he has turned our ship of state into one more roll of Socialist toilet paper, headed straight for Uranus, and we had better recapture the ship and use it to wipe out the feculent Democrat Klingons that stink up our Whitehouse, cling on to our money and destroy our prosperity.

Beam me up Scotty, I’m ready for duty. Where is the plunger!

We’re still free enough to say we’ve had enough and we’re not taking anymore—and, granted, even that is in jeopardy—but if enough people will wake up and see the writing on the wall and exercise just this one freedom—we can make some much-needed change.

Our leadership has become self-indulgent and power-hungry.  Our citizenry has become complacent and non-chalant.  And that is a dangerous mix.

“Constitutional scholar” my tiny hiney.  Wake up, people, we are now living in a police state.  Don’t believe me?  Just go through your local paper.  There are plenty of examples.  “Our leadership has become self-indulgent and power-hungry.  Our citizenry has become complacent and non-chalant (sic).  You are so right, mcrank, and shame on all of us for letting it happen.

How did he become a Constitutional scholar?    He was never a professor law.   Apoparentl, was an adjunct instructor in Chicago.    There is no evidence that he even has a college degree, other than the purchaed paper from Harvard Law School.   He was never a professor of law.   He was an adjunct lecturer in Chicago, apparently.   His advanced education was picked up on the streets of NYC while his mind was in a drug induce haze.   During that time he took on the Barack Hussein Obama name and discarded the Barry Soetoro name given to him by his adopted father.

Just what are Obama’s credentials that qualify him to be a Constitutional Scholar? He is a Muslim educated, Africanized, Socialist, born and bred by a socialist African father who abandoned him as fast as Obama will abandon his legitimate American upbringing, and OUR legitimate American freedoms. It is US the American people he would bastardize as well, as he and his Liberal Cabal of appointed judges and Czars would deny us our American rights and freedoms to live and do business as free men any place of our choosing.
Just look to formerly self sufficient South Africa who used to be the breadbasket of Africa and can no longer even feed its own people, after running off the productive Capitalist creators of wealth and redistributing the wealth to unlearned mindless socialist African consumer Collectives. This is the road our illegitimate President leads us down. It is his policies, not the situation of his illegitimate bastardized birth which bastardizes our country and our freedoms.

He would make us ALL illegitimate without fathers in our homes, and unearned wealth in our pockets to justify the very Barry illegitimate life and life philosophy his mind was forced to embrace to soften the distasteful reality of a life abandoned by a father who never loved him and a mother whose mind was run amok with the insanity of socialist Liberalism.

We should just pity the fool, if his power did not make him so dangerous,,,Pit US the fools who gave him this power.

The Navy SEALS removed one Muslim threat to America.  It’s up to the voters to remove the other.

“Government says you must wear a helmet if you ride a motorcycle. Government says you must wear seat belts in your automobile.”
Some states have no helmet laws. Interestingly, many of those same states DO have seat belt laws. Is it the government’s contention that I’m safer on a motorcycle with no helmet than I am in a car with no seat belt?
I started riding motorcycles 1975. I NEVER ride without a helmet. Even when it’s 100 degrees outside I wear long pants (jeans), a jacket, gloves and a full-face helmet. You’d have to be a complete moron to ride a motorcycle without wearing protective gear.
Nevertheless I do believe that everybody has the right to ride without wearing protective gear if that’s their choice. I also believe that insurance companies have the right to refuse to cover the treatment of injuries sustained by those who refuse to take reasonable precautions.
The same thing goes for people who refuse to wear a seat belt while driving a car. Or those who choose to smoke or drink and drive.
